“Allison was great! Smokey had a blast playing with her dogs and chasing squirrels in her yard. She kept us updated with frequent pics and videos! We ran into travel delays and she was extremely accommodating and understanding when we picked Smokey up several hours late. Will definitively recommend her to friends!”

“Amy is a very nice and approachable person and really knows her stuff when it comes to dogs I must say, having lots of them at home herself. I was very pleased with the care she puts towards axle. I would really recommend her if you’re going on vacation to leave your pups in her care, you won’t regret it promise. Every time I texted her to check on my pup she answer almost immediately and told me everything was fine. 5 stars for her and thanks Amy for your work.”

About: Picture this: you love your working breed dog... but they can be a boarder's nightmare. Does it make you nervous that they won't get enough stimulation while you're away? You can rest assured dogs with me will get 2-3 miles of trails a day along with 2+ hours (more on weekends!) of supervised play time with an equally energetic husky. Along with structured crate time to decompress. I've dealt with the worst of leash pullers and have trained my own dogs with high expectations of good behavior. You don't have to worry about your pup loosing manners or reverting to bad behaviors while you're away! I can reinforce proper training while he/she enjoys vacation at a beautiful hideaway with miles of private woods, right on the lake for some water play when it's hot! Your pet's schedule: 7-9am: breakfast! 1-2 miles of trails 9-12pm: crate time with options of mental stimulation toys and food toys 12-1pm: potty break and inside or outside supervised play time with my dog 1-5pm: crate time 5pm: dinner time and evening walks 6pm-bedtime: supervised time around the house, options to interact with other pets, myself, household members. Bedtime: crate or bed if they prefer Note: this is based on my regular daily work schedule for weekdays and weekends. Some flexibility on time frames, excersize amounts, etc are possible. Just ask and let's see if can work something out! I have a high focus on making sure every animal gets adequate amounts of physical and mental stimulation. If your dog has needs outside of what I have listed, let's have a conversation! Crating is required while I or my husband is not in the house. Your dog will be crated in a low stimulation environment away from other animals for proper decompression time. And will never be longer than 4 hours during the day.
“First time using Rover and had such an amazing experience. Katie was so nice and went above and beyond for my pup. He had such a great time and he loved staying with her and her family. I will definitely be using rover and more importantly booking with Katie anytime we have to go out of town again. Such a wonderful and easy experience. Had such a piece of mind leaving my pup in great hands!”

“Carmen took great care of our dog and provided updates while we were away, including sending pictures and videos throughout the week. We will gladly seek her care again and recommend her to others as well. Thanks!”

“This was the first time I have left Buddy for a week. Amanda was amazing with sending updates with pictures When we had our meet & greet Buddy was so comfortable with Amanda and Her house. When I picked Him up, Buddy seemed like He didn't want to leave, which is Great for Amanda and was a little sad for Me lol. I would recommend Amanda for all your needs, She is now family to Us and Buddy.”

“Lisa took great care of our Roxy while we were out of town. It's a plus that her dog and Roxy had a blast playing. Lisa was always quick to respond when we checked in. We will use her again.”

“Samantha did a great job boarding and caring for our Labrador Lizzie (8 years old and walks on 3 legs) while we were on vacation. We received pictures each day of Lizzie and she appeared to always be having a good time. I fully trust Samantha with our Lab and I'm definite we will be using her services again in the near future. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give Samantha a 15+... Her communication was great and I always felt Lizzie was well cared for and in safe hands.”

After looking hard for someone to watch our medium size dog Rose, we found Myra. What a God send! She was and is amazing. She took Rose in like she was her own. Myra had her for 10 days. We picked up a happy well loved and taken care of dog. We will in a heart beat drive the distance to have Myra take care of our Rose again. We had complete peace of mind while on our vacation. Thank you Myra, The Stroh’s

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
