“I am so grateful that I found Jill to watch my baby while I was out of town. She will definitely be out go to sitter in the future. She was kind, prompt and Pippa was very well taken care of.”
“Brittany has been great with my pups. I felt super comf with them staying with her and her family. It helps a lot that she has her pup with her, who's super extroverted and helped get my younger dog out of his shell. I strongly recommend her! I'm just bummed that she's moving away from me 😞”

About: I’ve owned or taken care of dogs for over 50 years. Friends and family are very comfortable calling on me to care for their dogs. Currently, I am fully retired and miss my own little fur baby. I would love to snuggle and care for your dog. My hours are very flexible to suit your needs. I regularly walk dogs out doors and give them much attention. In my neighborhood all dogs will be kept on a leash as per the law.
“Scarlett was great. She took good care of Murphy and sent me pictures each time I requested. I was a little nervous given the number of dogs that were there over the weekend but she handled it like a pro! Murph was happy and exhausted when we picked her up :)”

“Kahlynne took excellent care of our 6 month old puppy. It was his first time staying away from home and she made sure he was content. Her dogs played great with him. She even sent updates through his stay.”

“Sherrie was awesome. She has a huge back yard and is very nice and personable. She sent pictures of Opie and kept me updated on how she was doing. It is abt a 40 minute drive but very much worth it. We will definitely be using her again”

“Amy is a very nice and approachable person and really knows her stuff when it comes to dogs I must say, having lots of them at home herself. I was very pleased with the care she puts towards axle. I would really recommend her if you’re going on vacation to leave your pups in her care, you won’t regret it promise. Every time I texted her to check on my pup she answer almost immediately and told me everything was fine. 5 stars for her and thanks Amy for your work.”

“Allison was great! Smokey had a blast playing with her dogs and chasing squirrels in her yard. She kept us updated with frequent pics and videos! We ran into travel delays and she was extremely accommodating and understanding when we picked Smokey up several hours late. Will definitively recommend her to friends!”

“Caitlin is soooo amazing! She sent updates, videos, and asked questions. She gave my dog additional dog food because I didn’t pack enough. I will definitely reach out in the future because my dog loved her and she loves my dog 😊”
“This is only the 2nd time we boarded our dog. This time she did not have any issues when we picked her up. I like the opportunity to be able to text and either respond to question from our boarder or us to ask questions. I really felt that Katie cared about our dog. I would definitely use Katie again. Very trustworthy!”

“Great experience. Sent daily communication and pics. Seems to have a lot of experience working with dogs with unique personalities and needs. Veronica and family will be at the top of our list when we look for boarding in the future!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
