“Helen was a God send. She was so loving, caring and interactive with our dog. She went above and beyond to make sure not only was our dog taken care of but also our house. This was my first time leaving my dog with a person other than a family member or friend of the family since moving from NY to NC. I will definitely use Helen again I highly recommend her. Helen made me feel comfortable from start to finish and that my dog was in good hands. Thank you Helen.”

“We were extremely happy with Katelyn, and the dogs were too! During our meet & greet both dogs went up to her, wagging their tails like she was family. She got them to pose for pictures, which was amazing. They’ve both camera shy and even as an agility trainer I’ve had difficulty getting them to cooperate for family photos. Katelyn went over and above in every way.”

“First time working with Mary and she took great care of our golden retriever while I was at work! Great communication, attention to detail, and lots of photos on the report cards!”

“Karley is absolutely amazing! She takes care of my babies like they are her own. She came highly recommended and the reviews couldn’t be more right. You can actually leave the house knowing they will be cared for and loved the same way you would if you were home. I can’t say enough good things, thank you so much Karley!”

“Heather is awesome! She really helped us out in a pinch, and was so attentive to our puppy, and provided great photos and notes. We were able to relax during an otherwise very stressful time knowing he was well cared for.”

“Nancy was extremely accommodating & a pleasure to deal with. We had lots of questions and she graciously answered every one of them without delay. Thank you Nancy for going above & beyond for us.”

“I recently booked a couple drop-in’s with Caitlin and I highly recommend her! She is great with my boys and always keeps updated on how they’re doing. I plan on going to Caitlin anytime I need help with Cash and Ryatt!”

“Jessica did a very good job with my boys. I have two pit bulls. One 5 and one 10, so their rambunctiousness differs. Not only did she keep me updated with the sweetest pics of my boys, she took out the trash and cleaned their bowls and utensils she used as well. Definitely would recommend and use again. Thank you so much, Jessica!”

About: I’ve pet sit for neighbors for about 2 years now, and am particularly passionate about getting dogs the outdoor time and exercise they need. I love seeing how much joy and excitement it brings them. I work from home and typically take my own dog on 20-30 minute walks and want to extend the favor to those with less flexible schedules! I work full-time from home, so my schedule is extremely flexible! I am available during weekdays and weekends, and am usually up fairly early to take care of pups who need early-morning care! When caring for pets in my client’s home, I prefer to have detailed instructions so I can ensure care is provided properly. I also make it a top priority to leave the home the same, if not better, than I found it.

“Jennifer took great care of our dog. Ruby got sick while were were gone and Jennifer kept us updated and did a lot of cleaning. She really went above and beyond. I highly recommend her!”

“Maura is dependable and efficient. I felt at ease while away from my 3 cats while they were in her care. I received photos every day and she communicated well. She is highly recommended!”

“Lana was so great with our dogs! She was so communicative and caring I didn’t feel any worry on my vacation. She clearly cares for other people’s pets as if they are her own, my pups are very happy :)”

“Aaliyah has been so amazing with my pup Olive! Olive warmed up to her right away and now we get the cutest pics of their time together from Aaliyah. She even made Olive a cute little bow as a gift. So thankful for how considerate Aaliyah has been!!”

“Ashlin was wonderful with our three older dogs! Very attentive and followed all the instructions perfectly. This was the first time I used Rover and I was very impressed. We will definitely book her again!”

“Amanda took such wonderful care of our dog! She sent us lots of photos and status updates every day. Our dog seemed very happy while she was with Amanda which gave us peace and delight. We highly recommend Amanda to everyone who needs a pet sitter and will book with her again in the future!”

“Casey did great, went out of town to visit family and was worried about my dogs being taken care of. He was prompt with great communication. I definitely recommend and will use again.”

“Eloise was extremely communicative and was great about sending updates! I will 100% be using her services again in the future. She made us feel comfortable about leaving the doggo home! No stress”

Lily took great care of my dog! She arrived on time, communicated well throughout the visit, and was very flexible and accommodating when I made a mistake with my booking. I really appreciated her understanding and felt comfortable knowing my dog was in good hands. Overall, I was very happy with the experience and would definitely book with her again!
A great experience! My dog has limited vision and required several different medications including insulin injections with meals so I was a little nervous about using a dog sitter. Joe and Christine took care of all of it beautifully with daily visits to my home as well as some play and walk time. What peace of mind I now have knowing I can leave my precious dog’s care to them! I will definitely use them again!

Marcia is simply the best—there’s a reason we keep coming back to her again and again. Finding someone you trust with your pets (and your home) is no small thing, and with Marcia, that trust comes easily. She is reliable, attentive, and genuinely caring, and it shows in every interaction.

Jessica is great. I have two cats and one of them is very shy and the other one is outgoing. They both loved her and I loved that in one of Jessica’s pictures. She actually got a picture of my shy cat rubbing up against her.😻 my cats are very good at judging good people

Skyler was absolutely wonderful! Her communication was phenomenal from start to finish, which gave me so much peace of mind while we were away. She took such incredible care of Cash and Presley—keeping them active, happy, and clearly so well loved. Her photos were awesome - I really enjoyed seeing our boys have so much fun. We’re so thankful to have found another trusted sitter for our boys and will absolutely be booking with Skyler again. Highly, highly recommend!

Sherry took care of our little kitty INCREDIBLY! Our kitty was struggling with a sickness and needed some additional support with wiping her nose and Sherry was more than happy to take care of her needs and she gave us consistent updates on our kitty’s symptoms while we were away. We couldn’t have asked for a better cat sitter 😊

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
