“Heather has simply been amazing for Coa and our family as a whole. We are very blessed to have met Heather. She genuinely loves Coa and has his best interest in mind. Thank you Heather for the toys and tips!!!!”

“Karley was great watching my cat while I was out of town! She made sure he had everything he needed each day and sent detailed updates/photos. I’m grateful for her checking in on him and making my trip less stressful!”

“Rachel is very reliable and resourceful. She responded well when the cats accidentally closed an interior door and blocked it. She made sure it couldn’t happen again. Did all of her responsibilities promptly. Lewis and Nora like her.”

About: I have had in the past several pets from hamsters and mice to cats and dogs, I am also a beekeeper! My last dog was a pit mix and passed last year. I have a large neighborhood with sidewalks and love to walk with the dogs. I also have a fenced yard if they like to run off-leash! I am a real estate agent so I am in and out of the home during the day and make my own schedule. I am flexible with hours and have a pre-college teen with me to help out if needed. I treat every pet with care and love as if they were my own. Like us, each pet has its own personality so I can adjust accordingly. There are currently no other pets in the house so yours will have my full attention!
“Marcia was so sweet to the kitties. My boy cats are very shy and both of them were out visiting with her on the very first visit. She followed all of my directions and made sure to spend time with them so they know they are being looked after. Will definitely ask for her service again. Thank you!”

About: I’m a long-time dog owner that would love to watch your dog too! I have grown up with dogs of my own and dog sitting for other people. I currently have one Golden Retriever. I am used to having two dogs at a time but I lost my older dog last year and right now it is better for me to have just one. My dog Reykie loves the company of another dog and is very sweet with new friends. I have had five Golden Retrievers in my life, I’ve watched plenty of other breeds as well. I understand that your dog is like family and they need extra love and attention sometimes when you can’t be there to give it. I’ll play with and love your pup for you! I live 10 minutes from the office so I’m able to come home during lunch. I also work from home a few days per week. I live in a townhome so I walk my dog outside to get him exercise and give him time to use the restroom. I also have a balcony that my dog and other dogs enjoy laying on in nice weather as I work right inside.
“I can't say enough good things about Tommy. The peace of mind that I have knowing he's loving on my dogs makes it so much easier to focus on my job while I'm away. I'm so grateful for how awesome he has been and my dogs LOVE him!”

“Cassalyn stopped in to watch our little Gwump for over a week. She sent photos of our baby including any problems she ran into such as hairballs and went above and beyond expectations. Highly recommended! Thank you Cassalyn!”

“Gabby was a wonderful cat sitter who was timely, flexible and always sent pictures with thorough updates. It was clear the kitties felt very comfortable with her! I will definitely be using Gabby again!”

“Eloise did an amazing job! Brooklyn was shy at first, but quickly warmed up to her and her sweet and caring personality. I will definitely be using her services in the future. Thank you so much!”

“Brea was such a fantastic cat sitter! She is a wonderful communicator and really cared about our baby. We were in a jam when our previously confirmed cat sitter ghosted us, but Brea responded right away and saved the day. We are so grateful to her. HIGHLY recommended.”

About: I’ve taken care of fur babies for weeks on end. I have two that I watch often and have watched them for weeks at times. I love animals and I love being active. So play time and walks with fur babies are one of my favorite things to do!! I’m a part time worker, working 3 days a week which leaves me plenty of time to walk your fur baby and take care of them when need be If doggies stay, I have plenty of back yard space for them to play, go potty, or even just to have some fresh air! And inside, there’s more than enough room for them to play around and take some naps
“Alex has sat with our 7mo Cocker Spaniel puppy for a few Visits now and consistently provided excellent care for Winnie. We appreciate, will continue to use and recommend her.”

“We LOVE Rebecca. She sends detailed updates, snuggles our pups, and is so thoughtful. (But we don’t want her to get too popular, so I’ll stop there cause good care is hard to come by!!!)”

“Claire has been such a blessing to have!! She is incredible with my boy and goes above and beyond beyond with him! Not only does she walk him, but she gives him all the snuggles and love AND incorporates training into each visit. She is communicative, kind, thoughtful, and extremely knowledgeable about animals! Me and Jax will miss her!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Huntersville
Mary does a fantastic job every time she watches our cats. One of our crew, Sylvie, is a former feral who hides when strangers come over - even my parents don’t see more than the occasional glimpse of this cat. Over the course of several times sitting for us, Mary has worked to make Sylvie comfortable while giving her lots of space. On our most recent time away, Sylvie let Mary pet her 🥹 Mary takes care of our pets like they’re her own and we are so grateful for her.

Julia did an absolutely incredible job taking care of our two kitties! She left the sweetest most detailed notes after every visit and tons of pictures of our babies! I could tell they were in great hands and never had to worry about them. Plus I could tell my girls loved playing with her :)

We were one lucky family, to have found Fanni to care for our pup for 5 days ! She made our trip sooo much easier, knowing she was in charge of our precious family member ! She sent pix and videos DAILY, and gave "health" updates ( by paying attention to his poo-health :) We expected him to not eat for a day or two after we left, and he NEVER missed a meal ! ~ with her love and kindness - energy in the house ! DOGS KNOW !!! That was actually a FIRST in his 13 years with us, and thru all our travel ! She was a gift and a blessing and we can only HOPE she is available the next time we need doggy-care !

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
