“Alex took care of my dogs amazingly!! He was very attentive and followed instructions to the tee. I loved how he sent me daily updates, photos, and brought any concerns that he had with the pups to my attention. I highly recommend him and will definately use him in the future. He cared for my pups as if they were his own and that made me very happy! He truly loved on and played with my pups when I wasn't there to do so myself. Thank you Alex!!!!”

“Heather watched my condo and senior pup, Rusty, overnight for 4 days. Rusty is 13, has a heart murmur, is blind in one eye and has very limited sight out of the other eye. A few days before our planned trip my Rusty’s heart murmur increased to a grade 5 and he went on heart medication twice per day. Heather watched over him and kept a very detailed care diary for me since it was his first week on the medication. She was very communicative and sent lots of photos throughout their time together. Heather really put me at ease and gave me peace of mind leaving Rusty for a few days after some medical changes. Rusty really seemed at ease with her. I cannot sing her praises enough. I will definitely book with her again.”

“Megan was amazing! She sent great pictures, made sure our guy was comfortable and safe, and took overall great care of him! She even let him steal the pillows like he usually does to us ?.”

About: I’ve been a dog owner for over 10 years and grew up training old and young dogs. I’ve worked at animal shelters and pet boarding facilities where I’ve taken care of dogs and cats of all ages and sizes. I am CPR certified for both dogs and cats. I have an extremely flexible schedule and will always make time to care for you wonderful pet! I am willing to be there any day of the week and any time. Just let me know a day before and I will make sure to be there! I will be 100% focused on caring for your animal at all times and make sure they have the best day! I’m more than happy to take your pet on an adventure, or care for them in the comfort of your home. What ever you prefer, I will do!
“Brad was excellent! He sent photos everyday. The house looks the same as we left it, maybe even better. He handled giving my dog oral medications well. He also helped coordinate a dog door installation which was unexpected. I would highly recommend Brad for your house sitting needs as the dogs were well cared for and safe.”

“My new go-to dog sitter. I’ve had a lot of bad experiences on Rover, especially having a 70 pound highly anxious lab which most people can’t handle or are afraid of. Safe to say I was little anxious leaving them (lab + two cats) alone for a few days on break, however, I had absolutely nothing to worry about. Hes basically with the babies 24/7 which is exactly what I needed. He’s flexible which helps if you don’t have a steady schedule. Overall a positive experience and will be booking with him again. All my babies were in good hands and it honestly seem like they didn’t miss me very much lol.”

“I love how much Lisa loved my pups! From the moment she walked in the door I could sense her kindness and gentleness for my lively guys. She is very communicative and flexible as well. Kudos to her as well for leaving the house in the same if not better condition than when I left! Thank You!”

“Julia took great care of our dogs and our home while we were away! She was an amazing house guest and an even better dog sitter. We came home to tired, happy dogs and will for sure contact Julia for all future dog sitting needs!”

“Jeannie is the best! My animals loved her right away. Percy is a Senior and it’s always stressful for me to leave him with new people but Jeannie but those fears at ease right away talking about her own senior that had passed, with all the love she poured into her dog I knew my Percy would be safe! Mister loved her and Princess was her cuddle buddy (eventually, she does take a while to warm up but basically first day was cuddling!) I would definitely use her again and plan on rebooking whenever my next trip is!”

“Mary did an awesome job! Pets seems happy - Mary sent tons of wonderful pictures - house is in great shape - she even took down the bins on trash day! Thank you so much, Mary!”

“Jada did a wonderful job with our boys! She was very attentive and had great communication. While we were away she sent us plenty of pictures and made us feel at ease. Would definitely recommend and will book again in the future 😊”

“We couldn’t be happier with Jaime! She was absolutely amazing. Our dogs, Luna and Norman, adored her from the start, and it was clear they were well-loved and well-cared for while we were away. We came home to a spotless house — she even picked up the dog poop in the yard and washed the sheets she used, which went above and beyond our expectations. We will definitely be using Jaime again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and caring sitter!”

“Ethan was absolutely amazing with our anxious English Bulldog for overnight dog sitting! He took the time (and multiple visits) for George to become totally comfortable! He was excellent and very knowledgeable about dogs and their personality quirks! 10/10 will be booking him again!”

About: I have such a love and passion for all animals! I have experience with pets of all ages, shapes, and sizes and can administer medication. I am retired so I have plenty of time to care for your furbabies! It’s wonderful not having any sort of set schedule now because it allows me to be available on weekdays and weekends. I live in an apartment with my dog and two cats so any pet coming to visit would need to be ok not being the only baby. I do have a large crate if needed.

About: My veterinary background has given me strong skills in animal handling, medication administration, monitoring health conditions, and recognizing signs of illness or distress. I work full-time as a veterinary assistant from 7:30am-6pm. I am off every Thursday and WEEKENDS. I am always happy to help anyway I can 😊 🐾 Weekdays: Mornings and evenings (depending on availability/distance due to work schedule listed above) 🐾 Weekends: More flexible and open availability 🐾 Holidays & extended stays: Available with notice I’m happy to work with you to find times that best fit your pet’s routine whenever possible Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. Mary is absolutely amazing! She takes such great care of Cannoli and follows every instruction to a T, which gives us so much peace of mind. She is incredibly sweet, thoughtful, and truly treats Cannoli like her own. It’s been so hard to find someone we completely trust with our girl, and we’re beyond grateful we found Mary. We always know Cannoli is in the best hands, and we couldn’t recommend her more highly. Thank you for loving our pup so well! ❤️🐾

We used Jane for the first time this past weekend house/dog sitting overnight. She was great!! From day one when we met her for a meet and greet to taking care of our Wire Fox Terriers. Very responsive. Excellent communication. Handled extras around the house like garbage cans and package deliveries. We felt very comfortable having her stay in our home and take care of our kids. I highly recommend her. Thank you Jane.

Julia continues to be an amazing dog and house sitter! She just stayed at our house and watched our dog for a week and our house looked cleaner when we got home. She is an amazing communicator and is very responsive. We received numerous updates a day with pictures and it is so clear how much she cares. She is also amazing with our dog. I will continue trusting her with our dog and house!

Edelyn was great with our Aussie! She stayed over to house-sit and keep him company, sent photos and notes to let us know he was in good hands, and was very flexible when our start & end times shifted. Communication was prompt and excellent. We highly recommend her and would book with her again!

I was so nervous about leaving my dog because my baby means everything to me, but Rhianna made the whole process so easy and stress free. She responded back quickly every time and kept me updated with pictures and messages, which I really appreciated. My dog is very bougie and likes things done a certain way, and Rhianna followed everything exactly how I asked. That meant a lot to me because not everyone pays attention to the little details. I could tell my baby was well taken care of and comfortable the entire time. I will definitely be using her again going forward. Highly recommend!

Haley was amazing!! We are typically very nervous when leaving our girls and Haley did an excellent job asking all the right questions and making sure we felt comfortable. She went above and beyond with our pups, providing additional love, care, and playtime. She also provided us with many updates, pictures, and videos. Throughout our trip there was never a question of whether our girls were being properly cared for and it allowed for us to worry about enjoying our trip. I would recommend Haley to a best friend of family member, and highly suggest reaching out if you’re looking for someone to take good care of your animals.

Crystal was wonderful! Lily and Mason loved spending the week with her and got lots of walks and attention. She kept us updated with messages and pictures, which made us feel really comfortable while we were away. We trusted her in our home for the week and everything went great. We will definitely be using her again and highly recommend her! 🐾

Iv had Monarch watch my cats a few times now! She is the best person Iv found on this app. She takes great care of my cats (one with anxiety), updates me frequently and provides them with lots of attention. Anytime I return the cats do not seem overly stressed or anxious like they have when Iv had others watch them! I highly recommend her!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Huntersville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Huntersville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Huntersville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
