Dominique was an outstanding sitter for my pup Ranna! Not only is she highly experienced with sitting dogs that have very specific personalities and needs, she’s extremely responsive and always provides me with timely updates and cute pictures of Ranna while I was away. I’m thrilled to have a great sitter to lean on when I need someone to watch my pup.

Breana did a great job house sitting for our animals. The animals were well taken care of and she left our house neater than she found it. I also really appreciated the daily updates and photos she sent.

This is the second time we've had Karena petsit for our 3 smaller dogs ranging in age from 3 to 10 and we were just as happy this time as before. She sends daily updates even if the pups aren't doing anything different than the day before. She would still send us cute pics of them snuggling into their beds or chilling with her on the couch. She's responsive and picks up / cleans up after herself so the house is as tidy as when we left. Highly recommend!!!

Awesome experience - will definitely look to book with her again next time we're out of town. We received great pics while we were away. It was nice seeing our dogs snuggling up with her looking comfortable and relaxed. One of our pups was having some allergy issues while we were away. We received pics pretty quickly when she started looking a little rashy and asking us to confirm how we wanted her to handle it (as we had discussed before the trip). She reacted fast and our dog was happy and healthy by the time we got home with no rash or redness at all. We're very happy to recommend her. Our dogs and our home were in great hands while we were away.

Katie is absolutely wonderful! She is the first non-family member that we’ve had over to watch our 2-year old Boxer while we went out-of-town for a long weekend. We usually bring our dog everywhere with us, but there are those rare times when it just can’t happen, and Katie was a perfect fit for us. She has experience with larger breeds with lots of energy and we felt confident that our dog would be well-cared for. He loved her right away! She is warm, friendly, and brings a calm yet assured energy. We had great communication and she was quick to respond to any questions. It was comforting NOT having to worry about our pup while we were gone! We will definitely ask her to come back the next time we’re away.

She was always super responsive, gave frequent updates and made sure to get in contact with me if anything happened outside the norm. I can’t recommend her enough! It was also very comforting to have this type of support as it was our first time away from our 6 month old puppy. Have already booked her for another sit :)

About: Lifelong pet owner and animal lover with 2 years of experience as pet sitter. Provide safe, nurturing care for dogs and cats. Friendly and trustworthy, putting pets and their people at ease with reliable, conscientious care. Pet care fits into my daily life in a really natural way. I recently moved from California to North Carolina, and as I settle into this new chapter, I’ve been looking for a way to earn extra income doing something I actually enjoy. I work a full-time 8–5 job Monday through Friday, but I still have time in the mornings, evenings, and weekends and honestly, what better way to spend that time than hanging out with furry friends? In my client's home, I prioritize the well-being and happiness of the pets under my care. I create a comfortable and safe environment, ensuring they have access to food, water, and any necessary medications. Regular exercise and playtime are essential, whether it's a leisurely walk around the neighborhood or a fun game of fetch in the backyard. I also maintain open communication with the pet owners to address any specific needs or preferences their pets may have. Additionally, I provide lots of love and attention, treating each pet as if they were my own, to ensure they feel secure and content while in my care.

About: Hi, I’m Anneliese! As a dog owner for over 13 years, I know firsthand that pets are truly family. I understand that every single pet has their own unique personality, quirks, and routine, and I pride myself on taking the time to truly understand what makes your furry friend feel safe and happy. Whether it’s matching the high energy of a spirited small dog, respecting the independent boundaries of a cat, or maintaining the peaceful routine of a senior pet, I’m here to provide dedicated, personalized care. I’ll treat your home with total respect and your pets like my own! My schedule is perfectly suited for house and pet sitting. I am a full-time student taking online classes, which means my 'desk' moves wherever I go! I’m highly flexible and will be spending most of my day right alongside your pet, keeping them company while I study. Your pet gets a dedicated buddy, and you get peace of mind knowing their routine won't be disrupted. To ensure the absolute best experience for your pet, I exclusively offer house sitting and pet care inside your home. At my own home, I have a happy family of four cats and one dog, so I know firsthand how stressful a crowded or unfamiliar environment can be for animals! By coming to your home, I ensure your pet gets to stay in their safe, comfortable haven with 100% of my undivided attention. My personal 'zoo' has taught me that every single animal has a distinct personality, boundary, and set of needs. I will treat your home with the utmoste respect while following your exact routine for feeding, playtime, and safety. Because my college classes are mostly online, I will be around your house for most of the day, keeping your pet company and sending you plenty of photo updates!

About: What sets me apart is the level of care, attention, and respect I give every pet and home. I’ve been pet sitting and house sitting for several years, caring for both dogs and cats of all ages, temperaments, and routines. I genuinely love animals and take their wellbeing seriously — I’m attentive to changes in behavior, energy, or appetite and always prioritize their comfort and safety. I’m especially mindful of maintaining each pet’s normal routine, whether that includes walks, playtime, medications, or quiet companionship. I’m comfortable caring for senior pets and understand the patience and gentleness they require. I also take pride in being reliable, communicative, and treating every pet as if they were my own. My goal is for you to feel complete peace of mind knowing your pet is cared for with kindness, consistency, and genuine love while you’re away. Pet care fits very naturally into my weekly routine. I work primarily remote with reliable WiFi, but also must visit the office for only a couple of hours a day, 3 days per week. Working remotely allows me to provide consistent attention, walks, feedings, and companionship throughout the day. I also have a flexible part-time job with shifts up to four hours (up to five hours total including travel time). However, my schedule is adjustable, and I’m usually able to move or release shifts when needed — especially for pets who require more frequent care. I’m mindful of how long pets are left alone and plan my schedule carefully to prioritize their comfort and routine. I provide care exclusively in my clients’ homes so pets can remain in their familiar, comfortable environment. I follow each pet’s routine closely — including feeding schedules, walks, medications, crate preferences, and any household rules — to keep things consistent and stress-free. Safety is always a priority. I’m attentive during walks, mindful of secure doors and gates, and careful about food, treats, and household hazards. I also pay close attention to behavior changes and will communicate promptly if anything seems unusual. I treat every home with the utmost respect — keeping spaces clean, tidy, and secure while you’re away. You can expect regular updates and photos so you have peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, cared for, and comfortable.

Sarah is amazing! She stayed at our home to watch our cat, Boba, over the Fourth of July weekend. She was super easy to coordinate with, communicative, and most of all, amazing with our cat. He was scared during the fireworks and she was gentle with him and made sure he had his space but knew he wasn’t alone. She sent us great pictures of him while we were gone and we came home to a happy and not-anxious cat, which was such an amazing feeling. Sarah also took amazing care of our home and we came home to a perfectly clean house. We are so so grateful to Sarah for taking such good care of Boba and our home, which allowed us to enjoy our time away without worrying about him. We will definitely be using her again!

FAQs for House Sitting - Newell

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Newell on Rover is $52.17 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 3,143 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Newell. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Newell walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Newell maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Newell choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Newell. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
