“Dominique was absolutely amazing. Our initial booking had to be rescheduled due to a storm, and she was incredibly accommodating and understanding. I had a work trip that required me to leave very early in the morning, so I left her a key to let herself in. Unfortunately, my dog was feeling very anxious and scared, but Dominique handled the situation with so much patience, professionalism, and kindness. She truly took the time to help him feel comfortable and safe, and by the end of their time together they were the best of friends. My trip started off stressful—as it always is when your dog is stressed—but thanks to Dominique, I quickly felt calm and reassured knowing my dog was in such caring, capable hands. I can’t recommend her enough.”
“Chelsea was an absolute lifesaver in what turned out to be a pretty stressful situation. I left for a 5-day trip and on day 2, part of my house flooded (where she was staying with my dogs and cat). For the rest of the week I had workers coming in and out to dry and demo the space, and was more than willing to leave my trip early, but she insisted she had it handled and really did. She took the dogs on longer walks when the workers were there and a friend of mine was supervising them, and it truly seemed that the pups were taking all the upheaval in stride. They even continued to eat and take their meds, which I can only attribute Chelsea keeping them comfy and happy. I will definitely be inviting her back to sit once the house is in one piece again! Thank you so much Chelsea!”

“This is the second time we've had Karena petsit for our 3 smaller dogs ranging in age from 3 to 10 and we were just as happy this time as before. She sends daily updates even if the pups aren't doing anything different than the day before. She would still send us cute pics of them snuggling into their beds or chilling with her on the couch. She's responsive and picks up / cleans up after herself so the house is as tidy as when we left. Highly recommend!!!”

“Jillian was fantastic with Jenna and I won’t hesitate to use her again when we need. She stayed overnight with Jenna while my sone was away for the weekend and took great care of her. Wonderful.”

“Kristin did a great job sitting for our dogs. She spent several days with them and they had a great time. The dogs seemed very comfortable with her and we were happy she was able to spend lots of time with them. She provided updates multiple times per day including pictures of them around the house and around the pool. We came home to happy and stress free dogs. We would definitely book her again!”

“We needed someone to take care of our 8 weeks old puppy who we just brought home. Kiera helped us in a very short notice as my wife had to go for a surgery. She took time to meet us before and discussed all the details. On the day she sent pictures time to time and updated about our puppy's status. It was a great help and our puppy liked her. We will definitely take her help in future. We appreciate all help and highly recommend her.”

“Joanne was great! This was our 1st time having a pet sitter and she completely understood our nervousness and special pet needs. My baby was even looking for her today, so she will be missed, and she's welcome to visit any time. I highly recommend her 😍”

“Kendall was very communicative and reliable during her time watching our 9 year old lab. She sent pictures so we knew Trooper was enjoying his time with her. She was very easy to work with and dependable. Reccommend!”

“Tara was great watching our 2 large dogs in our home. She was easy to communicate with and kept us updated daily with messages and pictures. We will definitely use her again.”

“Awesome experience - will definitely look to book with her again next time we're out of town. We received great pics while we were away. It was nice seeing our dogs snuggling up with her looking comfortable and relaxed. One of our pups was having some allergy issues while we were away. We received pics pretty quickly when she started looking a little rashy and asking us to confirm how we wanted her to handle it (as we had discussed before the trip). She reacted fast and our dog was happy and healthy by the time we got home with no rash or redness at all. We're very happy to recommend her. Our dogs and our home were in great hands while we were away.”

About: Hello, my name is Lara. I am a long-time educator with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools with 22 years of experience teaching at the elementary and middle school levels. I have lived in the Charlotte area for 38 years and know how important it is to have people who you can trust and rely on in your circle. As a teacher, responsibility, professionalism, communication and timeliness are a part of who I am every day. I bring that level of professionalism to every aspect of house sitting and pet sitting. I have raised two children in Charlotte and currently have two human grandchildren, four dog grands, two cat grands and two lizard grands. Throughout the years I have cared for dogs, cats, guinea pigs, fish, horses, ferrets and pet mice. I am comfortable with feeding routines, long or short walks, administering basic care, providing enrichment, cleaning litter boxes and providing companionship while you are away. I work Monday through Friday, 7:30 to 5:00, in the Concord Mills area. Due to my teaching schedule I would be best suited for: Overnight house sitting Vacation pet sitting Early morning and evening pet care Weekend care Pets that are comfortable being alone during a standard workday I currently work full time with a consistent schedule every day of the week. I get up at 5:00 am and at work by 7:30. My mornings are generally time to prepare for the day ahead and would include a walk if desired, feeding, enrichment and time for cuddles if needed. I return at the end of my work day and will provide a walk, enrichment based on your pet’s preferences, feeding and any needed cleaning. If I am staying at your home there will be additional time before the bedtime routine for time spent together. My general rule for care is always to be safe first and foremost. That means all doors, gates and fences checked when in an area. The yard is checked for safety before we go outside and walks are always on leash with a back up leash for emergencies. I follow your pet’s schedule and your house rules. I am at your home to keep your pet safe and comfortable until you return. This includes multiple times that I will communicate with you daily. Your pet’s safety, comfort and your peace of mind are my goals.
About: I want to get into the pet industry either by training or grooming or anything in between. I groom my own pets as well as other family members be it wash or trim. I’ve assisted the both of multiple litters and cared for puppies and even kittens. I’ve grown up around animals my whole life and have always loved being around them. I volunteer at the local humane society, walking dogs and helping keep their kennels clean. I’m currently working part time but any time between 6am to 3pm works well with me! Any later times can be discussed in advance. I also have a reliable vehicle big enough to travel to parks and trails. I have a senior dog and two cats and we walk very often. My younger cats are playful boys who get along with other cats and I’ve had my dog for over ten years. He is also very friendly towards other dogs and cats. I often spend my time playing with my cats, they love feathers and laser toys.
“My dogs are 10 and 12, and they both got sick on my very first day out of town. Chrissonna was incredible - she kept a close eye on them, gave me clear updates about what was going on, and had them both comfortable, taking their meds, and feeling better before the end of the day. It was such a relief to know they were in good hands. I would highly recommend Chrissonna to anyone who wants peace of mind while traveling.”

Malik was excellent with our 2 oversized Doodles! Our boys are 4 and still have lots of energy. Malik handled them easily and based on photos he sent we could tell they were very comfortable with him! That isn’t always the case for one of our boys, one of them can be hard to win over. We are super thankful we found him and will definitely use him in the future!

Chelsea took such great care of Benny and Rose! They got tons of attention and play time. Chelsea is very detailed oriented and stuck to their schedule and needs while providing thoughtful and prompt updates. She also left the house extremely clean even beyond what was asked! I cannot recommend Chelsea enough!🙂

Shannon has watched my dogs numerous times over the years, and she is absolutely wonderful. She was always so gentle and caring with my older dog, Elektra, especially toward the end when she needed extra care and attention to stay comfortable. My younger dog, Matrix, absolutely adores her. He can be pretty needy, and it’s clear she gives him the love, attention, and cuddles he craves when I’m away. I also really appreciate the regular pictures and updates she sends so I know he’s happy and having a good time!

Chyna was very patient and sweet with our dogs, Belle Rose and Hazel Mae. She was open to setting up a meet and greet since Belle is hesitant around new people. We looked forward to seeing daily updates while we were away and know that Chyna cared for our dogs like they were her own! We plan to reach out to Chyna again when the time comes, and we know Hazel and Belle will be happy to see her again!

HIGHLY recommend Olivia! She stayed at my home over Christmas with my 2 senior greyhounds and she did an amazing job. She sent great updates, asked questions when needed, and I could tell my dogs were comfortable with her. She also left my house in wonderful condition. If you need a reliable dogsitter, book Olivia!

FAQs for House Sitting - Wildwoods
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Wildwoods on Rover is $46.62 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,093 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Wildwoods. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Wildwoods walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Wildwoods maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Wildwoods choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Wildwoods. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
