I am giving a 1 star because it won’t let me leave 0 star. When you first meet Charisma, you believe she lives up to her name. She’s a very charming individual. You find yourself believing she is capable of keeping your puppy safe. Well, how do I begin? On the booking request I had asked for her to arrive between 6:30p and 7:30p; however in person and through “text,” we agreed on her arriving at 6pm since it would be her first time caring for my puppy and wanted my 6 month old GSD to feel comfortable and obviously her too. Just trying to be a safe and responsible owner. She said she would be around near a coffee shop around 4pm so she would just start heading my way and be there sooner. I knew she had her reservations about keeping a larger dog than she is used to. When time came, she showed up after 7:30pm. I waited for her as long as I could but I go into work at 6:30pm for a start time of 7pm. I was late to work. When I tried to call her I kept getting a “this person is not taking phone calls at this time.” You know the message you get when someone’s phone gets temporarily disconnected. Anyways, I text her and message her on rover. She gaslit me saying that it would have been nice to have gotten a reminder. We literally talked about it the day before and the morning/afternoon of. Then said “do you still need me?!” What do you mean? Of course, I have no one. And I have to be at work. I should have called out, but I get penalized for last minute call outs. Anyways, I have 3 pet cameras in my living area. This sitter kept hiding in a corner so she wouldn’t be seen. I didn’t care since I was able to see my dog from time to time and she seemed okay. Charisma played with her then threw a meatball treat and it landed under the refrigerator. I had just told her that my dog just the 6 month mark and jumped her play pen and was concerned about safety. She had just eaten a plastic plate a few days ago and I was waiting for her to pass it. She cannot be trusted. It all just happened so I told her if she could please just watch her. I also told her she had gotten into electrical cords to be extra careful. Well I ask her “Luna has been digging under the refrigerator for quite some time. Would you make sure it’s nothing dangerous/don’t let her do that?” She goes it must be the meatball. Then Luna is bored and is about to get the markers from the fridge. I guess she’s a little taller now. I told myself I would further puppy proof the home when I got home. Then she goes “does Luna ever try to get into the markers?!” I tell her “oh no. Just remove them from the fridge or anything she could reach.” She doesn’t. Then she asked me if she could go home after my dog is “crated.” I told her any other time I would consider it but since today was the first time she escaped her play pen that I would want someone there in case she put herself in a unsafe situation. I asked how could I get a hold of you if you’re not taking any calls? She said via FaceTime. During that time, I told her that I hadn’t finished making her bed because the sheets were still wet. She agreed she would gladly make it. I told her that I have been to the vet on and off and hadn’t gotten a chance to go to the grocery store and do everything I wanted to do before she got there but that I had ordered some pizza. She told me she loved pizza, and you could tell. She ate most of it. Then proceeded to leave dirty dishes and trash in my apartment. She also left my dog unattended out of her play pen two times during her stay, one time for 1.5 hours (I had to call Rover because I didn’t know if she would return and couldn’t get a hold of her). She had informed me she left something in her car and will be back. She put her in her play pen and my dog jumped it. I kept texting her saying “she jumped again. Please come back soon.” Nothing. Then when she returns she says “she had never left. She was taking a very important personal call in the car. She didn’t feel comfortable with the cameras hearing her conversation.” I sounded like a good excuse at first but only if she wasn’t working from her iPad and needed my WiFi connection to communicate with people. Remember no phone? Yeah… I acted dumb since she is in my home and my dog is under her care. Well that’s when she takes the dog outside for potty or what not. My dog has a little schedule/routine. She must have been distracted because when they came back up. She opened the door to the bedroom she would have been sleeping in and the dog jumped right on the bed and peed on it. And she peed A LOT. Luckily it had a bed cover so I ask if she could just throw it in the washer and do the bed. She agrees but she decides she wants to rewash all the sheets again even though I had already washed them. Okay. Cool. Then she “crates” the dog. It’s 10:30-11pm and tells me she is going to be downstairs again in her car because she need to finish this family emergency call. I tell her my dog might jump again to be on the lookout. She was all yes of course. Very agreeable but nothing. Before the dog peed on the bed (not sure if already stated), she had asked to go sleep at home so I’m now thinking this girl has the perfect excuse now to leave. She had asked to leave and return at 6am to let her out. Technically that wouldn’t have been awful but dog is now able to jump her play pen so no. Well she left a second time right to make the call with her no phone capable device but takes with her 3 white claws from the fridge (they belonged to my daughter) and doesn’t come back until after 2.5 hours later. Luckily, my dog is resting on the couch since she did jump again. I called rover again but told them not to call her because she is in my home and I didn’t want her taking it out on my dog and I wanted her to leave my keys behind. I had also suggested if she could maybe pick up my dog’s poop and save it since I was waiting for her to pass some plastic. I wasn’t going to have her go through the poop herself. She ignored that. When I asked if she had pooped and if she noticed anything in them. She goes not sure if she pooped in the dog park it was dark. So you’re telling me you just let a puppy who have been eating random stuff from the ground wander around in a dark dog park without being close enough to notice whether or not she pooped. And you’re not bothered enough to at least pick up the poop of the dog you’re sitting. You just don’t pick up poop?! Yeah… no. This was by far the worst experience I have had with a sitter. She should never be allowed to care for anyone’s dogs or cats. I would trust her with a fish, maybe, and some plants. SMH. Just grateful she didn’t drink my bourbon. LMAO.

Charisma was an amazing sitter. She sent photos and videos and kept me up to date. She was very attuned to the dogs’ needs and left my home better than she found it. I will definitely be using her again.

We had a wonderful experience with Charisma. She took great care of our dogs, kept us updated, and left our home clean and well cared for. We felt completely at ease while we were away and would definitely recommend her!

Charisma was professional, communicative, and went above and beyond for my pets. Would book her again in a heartbeat for future travels! Such a relief to feel comfortable with whoever comes into your home and she did just that! Thank you again Charisma!!:)
