“Dana truly went above and beyond while caring for my pups during my time away. She followed all of their feeding instructions perfectly, stayed home with them throughout the day, and sent plenty of updates, which gave me so much peace of mind. Her home and secure fencing made me feel confident they were safe, and it was clear they had a great time. We’ll definitely be back!”

“Deborah was absolutely wonderful! Immediately from the meet & greet I knew Cora was in great hands. She was extremely responsive and then had such a warm energy the minute we met her. Deborah had everything we needed for the stay including a crate, toys and a dog bed! Cora had a great time in her yard. Deb also did a wonderful job with some thunderstorm anxiety and making sure Cora was as comfortable as possible. I will absolutely look to book with her again! Thanks so much for all the love and care you gave Cora!!”

“Monica and her family were awesome sitters for our furry kid, Dusty. She kept us informed and took such good care of our little guy! Would definitely use again in the future!”

“Michaela is AMAZING! My pup was such a happy boy when I picked him up after my trip. He was wiped and took a fat nap. Michaela also washed his doggy bed because he had an excitement tinkle and I thought that was very thoughtful of her.”

“We couldn't have asked for a better host for our pup, Chloe! From the moment we dropped her off, we felt completely at ease. Daniel sent wonderful updates and pictures time to time, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. Kids were always happy to see her updates. Chloe had the best time playing with their two dogs and made good friends, Arlo and Deebo—they were friendly and welcoming to her from the start! She came home happy, relaxed, and well-cared for. We are already looking forward to booking with them again!”

“Great choice!!! This was the first time my dog Hershey stayed with anyone else that’s not family, but Judith made her feel like she was family. She’s very sweet and caring, we had a wonderful experience with her.”

About: We’ve both loved animals since childhood, and for nearly 15 years, we had the privilege of caring for two rescue dogs we brought home from Korea. Over the years, we cared for them through surgeries, illnesses, and their senior years. They had very different personalities and needs, and we learned how important it is to understand each dog and care for them as individuals - with patience, attention, and plenty of love. We’ve since said goodbye to both of our beloved dogs after long, happy lives. While we aren’t quite ready to adopt again, we miss having dogs around and would love the opportunity to care for yours. We offer a calm, comfortable home where your dog will be treated like one of our own. We also only board dogs from one household at a time, allowing us to give your pets our full attention without the stress of unfamiliar dogs sharing their space. We’d love to welcome your dogs into our home and give them the same patience, affection, and personalized care we gave our own. Our routine allows us to provide plenty of attention and companionship throughout your dog’s stay. One of us works from home and is here nearly all day during the week, so your dog will have someone around for most of the day. We keep a comfortable, relaxed routine with regular opportunities for potty breaks, walks, playtime, and plenty of affection. We’re also attentive to each dog’s individual schedule and will do our best to maintain the routines they’re accustomed to at home. On weekends, we have a few occasional commitments, but we plan our schedule carefully and will never leave your dog alone for more than about three hours at a time on the days or evenings when we’re away. Our goal is to give your dog plenty of attention, companionship, and care throughout their stay. Your dog’s safety and comfort are our top priorities. We have a fully fenced yard where dogs can enjoy some outdoor time safely, along with a comfortable home environment where they can relax and settle into their own routine. We also have a crate available for dogs who are comfortable being crated or whose owners prefer that arrangement. When we need to leave the house, we have a dedicated, small space that is free of potential hazards where your dog can stay safely and comfortably until we return. We understand that every dog is different, so we’ll follow your instructions regarding feeding, medications, routines, sleeping arrangements, and other care needs.

“Alejandra was great! She was on point with communication. She listened to what my dogs needs are. She sent videos and photos of my dog Mocha and provided me with updates. I saw that mocha felt comfortable. She and her family were very welcoming as well. Would definitely book with her again!”

“Our 10 year old fur baby has stayed with Colby and Haley now twice, and we couldn’t be happier! He has had such a great time both visits, and we love getting photo updates while we’re away. Most importantly, we can tell how happy and comfortable he is, and we know he is genuinely loved and cared for while he’s there. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing he’s in such good hands. We’re so thankful to have found someone we trust and will definitely continue using them!”

“Rue had an amazing time playing with Gerardo's 2 dogs in their fenced-in backyard. She got to go on lots of walks and even to dog parks. Gerardo and his family seem to be so loving and engaging with the dogs, and I know our pup can't wait to get back. We were particularly impressed with the level of communication with us. We got great daily updates with lots of pictures.”

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life, and my wife and I have two of our own who definitely keep us on our toes! Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs at pretty much every stage of life, from puppies who are still learning the ropes to seniors who need a little more patience and a slower pace. I also have experience with blind and special-needs dogs, as well as dogs who are fearful, anxious, reactive, or have shown aggression. I’m comfortable reading body language and giving a dog space when they’re telling me they need it rather than forcing an interaction. I really enjoy training and working with dogs, so I’m happy to reinforce the commands, boundaries, and routines you already use at home. I also understand that play and socialization look different for every dog. Some want to play nonstop, some need help building confidence, and some are perfectly happy just hanging out with you. Most importantly, I know your dog is an individual. I want to get to know their personality, what they enjoy, what makes them nervous, and what makes them feel safe so I can care for them in a way that works for them. I work from home and have a pretty flexible schedule. Whatever routine your dog has/needs, it will be respected and reinforced while in vacation with us! I try to make every dog feel safe and comfortable while keeping their normal routine as consistent as possible. I follow your instructions for meals, walks, medications, crate time, play, and anything else your dog needs. Since my wife and I have two dogs of our own, I’m careful with introductions and always supervise interactions. I also pay close attention to body language and never force a dog into a situation they’re uncomfortable with.
“Kristian is awesome! Our dog loved being at her home. She sent photos and kept me updated the entire time we had him there. He fit right into her family. So sweet! Definitely would recommend!”

“Such a great experience with Jen!! Communication was easy and we knew our dog was having a great stay. The pups easily played well together. Simba came home tired but so happy!!”

“Shalyn and her family were wonderful with our 3 year old dog Mary. She is a rescue and it was our first time boarding her so we were nervous. It was also the first time Mary spent an extended period of time with another dog. Their dog Scout was great with Mary. I received several pictures of Mary being loved on and playing well with Scout. Shalyn has a great fenced in yard. I definitely recommend her & will book with her again.”

“I cannot thank Steve enough for how well he took care of my year old labradoodle, Lex. He took the time to make sure I was comfortable with the arrangements and after I left he took care of Lex like he was a special part of the pack. When you are on long business travel, you want to make sure your pup is safe and loved. Steve not only loves your dog - he is the utmost professional! I never had to question how Lex was doing because Steve gives thoughtful updates with pictures. Steve is definitely mom and Lex approved!”

“I had an excellent experience with Yuanbo! They took amazing care of my dog and kept me updated with regular photos and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that they genuinely cared and treated my dog like family. My dog came home happy, relaxed, and well cared for. I truly appreciate their kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving pet caregiver. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my furry family member!”

“Sarah and Jared were absolutely wonderful with Remy! 🐾❤️ They were very responsive, kept me updated throughout his stay, and sent plenty of pictures so I could see how happy and comfortable he was. Most importantly, they made sure Remy was truly loved, cared for, and treated like family. I could tell he was in great hands, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. I really appreciate the care and attention they gave him. Thank you both so much for taking such great care of Remy! I will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this couple to anyone looking for a loving, reliable, and trustworthy sitter!!”

“Wes was great. He met us for a meet and greet, even for a short notice stay. The weather wasn’t great while we were away, and he made sure to still find windows to get our pup out and exercised! We’ll reach out again when we need help with our pup.”

“Cami was the best! She took care of our sweet boy when we couldn’t take him on a trip with us. She sent us lots pics and videos each day. He got to play with her sweet doggie. I think he made a best fur friend and now we need to go on a trip just so they can hang out again! Thanks Cami!”
“This was Cody's fist time with this sitter and her family and they did a fantastic job. They are true dog lovers who went out of their way to make Cody feel welcome, including letting him sleep under the covers, which is his favorite spot. And they quickly put me at ease and consistently kept me up-to-date with texts/pictures. It was an outstanding experience that I highly recommend for all dogs and all pet parents.”

We had such an AMAZING experience! Bacon absolutely loved her, and I can see why! She was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. She kept me updated every day, which gave me so much peace of mind while we were away. I also loved that she has a fenced-in backyard where Bacon could safely play and enjoy himself! She even shared some helpful training tips that I truly appreciated. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does, and that makes all the difference. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and I’m so happy we found her! We will DEFINITELY be back soon! 🐾❤️

I can't say enough about Tatiana! My Chloe absolutely LOVES her & her family. Chloe is close to 14 yrs and not much excites her but she knows the way to Tatiana's and gets all excited and happy when I make the turn signaling we are headed that way. When I must temporarily board Chloe, I never have to worry about my pup with Tatiana. She is one in a million!

Monica and her family took care of Loki like he was their own pet. They paid attention to every little detail, kept us updated with frequent messages and photos, and made sure we always knew how he was doing. It gave us great peace of mind knowing Loki was in such safe and caring hands. We really appreciate how well they looked after him and would definitely recommend Monica!

He did a great job taking care of Sundae, and had good communications with us. Sundae is a senior dog, and has a lot of quirks to be dealt with, and Malik did a great job navigating them. She wound up being a little needy, and he stepped up... I'm thankful for his patience and caring! She returned to us happy and healthy, and that's all I could hope for! I would definitely book him again.

Juliana was amazing! She sent pictures and messages on how the dogs were doing. She was very communicative. Her house had everything the pups needed and I just needed to bring them and their food. She made us feel so very comfortable. Coco and Spike were happy when they arrived and departed. Never going back to broading company, nothing better than a pet lover caring for your pets!
Alejandra was great! She was on point with communication. She listened to what my dogs needs are. She sent videos and photos of my dog Mocha and provided me with updates. I saw that mocha felt comfortable. She and her family were very welcoming as well. Would definitely book with her again!

Jared was super great at communicating. I had a pretty busy weekend while Moose was with him, but he made sure to check in daily and was responsive if I sent other messages as well. Even meeting for a meet & greet was super easy! I know Moose was in great hands with Jared!!!

Anela is more than awesome! She took care of our older Shepherd lady for the 2nd time and we could not be happier. She really cares for our dog if it is her own. We appreciate her and her amazing support and flexibility. Our dog cannot wait to go back on vacation with her :) Thank you!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Wildwoods home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Wildwoods.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Wildwoods sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
