“Copper had an awesome stay with Aunt Dana. She really treated him like her own with so much love. She sent lots of pictures and thoughtful updates. We could tell he was in good hands!”

“We were really nervous about leaving our 6moths old puppy with Elizabeth and Kevin. But Ginny had so much fun, she might want to stay forever next time we drop her off! Elizabeth was sending us updates and cutest pictures and videos of Ginny having fun and living her life. She came home happy and exhausted! Thank you for taking care of her (and us!) so well!”

“Kayla was very responsive and provided wonderful updates. My two dogs were very happy and got plenty of love and attention! The whole family interacted with my girls and they had a wonderful experience at Kayla’s.”

“Cinthya took care of my dog Pumpkin for a weekend and was very flexible with drop off and pick up times and sent pictures! My dog loved it and looked very happy and well taken care of! Will definitely book again”

“Carolina was great with our dog Lucky! He had so much fun playing with her pup Lola. Carolina sent updates and pictures every day, which we LOVED. Communication was great from the start. I would definitely use her again.”

“Annie gave me so much peace of mind while I was out of town for the weekend. She seemed right at home, and the community she lives in is very safe and dog-friendly. at the end of my stay, I received a wonderful "letter from Chloe" of all the things she did while I was gone. I will absolutely rebook again!”

“Albina and her family were wonderful with our two dogs. She was able to accommodate us fairly last minute and sent so many updates and photos which was really appreciated! Would highly recommend”

“Wynde was fantastic! We left her with our foster dog, who is still transitioning from crisis and kennel life to our home ( 6 weeks) and then to hers for a long weekend. Wynde was so accommodating, as with her family and pets. She was flexible with my schedule changes leaving and coming back in town; went above and beyond with making emotional space for our foster to feel in control, and welcoming any small act toward connection from our foster. It only took two days before I received one of many pictures of our pup laying on top of Wynde, all 45 lbs. I highly recommend her and will call on her again! Debbie”

“Great! Thanks so much for helping us take a spontaneous trip to visit with a family member in Charleston. This was clearly a loving and wonderful environment for our dog. Again, many thanks.”

“Deborah was great with handling our grumpy, anxious senior dog. It was the perfect, safe environment for her; we were able to relax & enjoy our trip knowing she was well cared for.”

“Kristian and her family are THE BEST! For smaller or medium sized dogs, this is a safe, fun, happy place with the family’s sweetest dogs, tons of room to run in a huge backyard, and so much love and attention. Chloe thinks it’s Christmas when we take her!!!”

“We are so happy with picked Shalyn to watch our dog while we went out of the country for a week! She was so communicative, sent daily pictures, and gave our girl the best week with lots of outdoor time, fetch, and walks! I completely trusted her and already have her booked to watch Luna again in the future!”

“Tina did a great job watching after my dogs. She was very flexible with every aspect of booking. You could tell she wanted to make my dogs feel comfortable and respect my wishes. She also kept me up to date on what was going on with them. Would definitely let her watch my dogs again.”

“This was one of the BEST Rover.com experiences I've had since using the service. Cheryl was prompt in responding to my urgent need for "same day" service. She was so accommodating to our" Jade" who is naturally nervous and is elderly w/a touch of arthritis. She communicated regularly w/updates an cute pics during Jade's stay and even calmed her down w/her favorite back rub when someone in the neighborhood decided to shoot fireworks that night. Kudos to you Cheryl!!”

“Brittany was amazing! She cared for my dogs and updated me with sweet photos and messages. I came home to happy, relaxed pups. I’ll definitely be booking with her again—highly recommend!”

“Sheila took such great care of Penny! We loved the photos and videos she sent us. It was easy to see how happy and comfortable Penny felt with her. Penny was exhausted when we brought her home. Definitely recommend her!”

“Christal was quick to respond and very communicative while my pup was with her family! Lots of love and cuddles were given and my pup came home tired and happy! I hope we can board with Christal again!”

Natalie and Reid were fantastic with our two dogs while we went out of the country for a week. They made sure to send daily updates and pictures which made us lol feel a lot better about leaving for so long. Both dogs were happy to see us and tired, but showed no signs of stress like when they have been boarded at kennels in the past. We will be using these Rover Superstars in the future for certain. Thank you both for taking such wonderful care of our little gremlins!

I can't say enough good things about Lilli!!! She is so nice and very attentive. We received messages and pictures every day, letting us know how our sweet girl was doing. For the first time, we weren't worried and it was nice to have someone we could trust. Our baby came home so happy. I could tell she was well loved and taken care of. We will definitely be booking with Lilli, here on out 🥰

It was my dog’s Lady’s first stay with Carolina. She was very sweet and let me know how Lady was doing when I asked. I may have asked for too many updates but she didn’t mind. Lady is notorious for crying after I pick her up from stays but this time she was making it clear she did not want to leave. I had to drag her to the car lol. Needless to say she loved her stay and was well take care of. We would love to use Carolina in the future! Thanks again for loving my baby.

Carson was absolutely amazing watching our dog while we were out of the country 2 weeks. She was so kind, thoughtful and caring for Bella. She kept us constantly updated with how Bella was doing and sent pictures daily. She thought of every detail before Bella’s arrival and was very thoughtful preparing for an awesome stay. We highly recommend Carson and look forward to booking with her in the future!!!!
This was my first time using Rover for my pup Raiya and we were so blessed to have met Janice! Raiya usually has anxiety when away from me and every update that Janice provided showed that Raiya was excelling with her. I will be using Janice again and would recommend her to anyone! Thank you

Erica and Teddy are AMAZING, they always care for my dog as their own. My dog had a health issue (she has inflammatory bowel disease) while in their care and they went above and beyond to keep me informed and even went to my vet to pick up a prescription! I can’t recommend them enough.

Our 10 year old fur baby has stayed with Colby and Haley now twice, and we couldn’t be happier! He has had such a great time both visits, and we love getting photo updates while we’re away. Most importantly, we can tell how happy and comfortable he is, and we know he is genuinely loved and cared for while he’s there. It gives us so much peace of mind knowing he’s in such good hands. We’re so thankful to have found someone we trust and will definitely continue using them!

Stephanie was absolutely great, and such a sweet person in general. Daily updates about my pup were fabulous - something I looked forward to each evening while I was away. Her dog and cats were also great with my dog, patient with the little one. Definitely recommend Stephanie if you're going away and need someone sweet and reliable to watch your furbaby. Thank you so much!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Hemby Bridge home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Hemby Bridge.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Hemby Bridge sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
