“Elizabeth and Kevin are amazing. We had a great experience leaving our furry son with them. We were so happy with all the pictures and videos they sent to us and we could tell he was happy and enjoying. We will definitely be leaving Bruno with them again. Thank you guys!!!!”

“I can safely say that out of all, Summer stood out the best. She was polite, timely and easy to work with. Highly recommend here and will absolutely use her services if we are in the area again!!!”

“Chlo’e got an abundance of attention she was herself. She can be a diva sometimes. Happy for her. She has a safe place when we are in Charlotte. Dana took her last minute for boarding care, for me to be with my new grandbabies. Forever thankful for that. Most sitters want notice before booking understandable, these trips last few weeks was not scheduled trips. Grandbabies were ready to make their grand debu. Thank you Dana.”

About: I am retired, have trained and shown dogs for over fifty years, live in a condo with one sheltie and one cat. I like to sit ONE dog at a time so it can have special one on one attention. Special arrangements can be made with two dogs that are from the same family. My floors are tile and I sterilize them between visits. I do NOT have a fenced yard but we have a 20 x 80 fenced dog run right outside my back door and we walk every two to three hours and once during the night. Since I am retired, I can be with your dog 24/7 with small exceptions. The dogs are allowed on the furniture and in the bed. I do insist that dogs be house trained and crate trained since we feed in crates or crate them if I have to be away. If you want personal care and attention for your dog, we would love to supply that service. We do NOT do meet and greets. We find that those brief encounters simply put stress on my dogs and yours. I take about an hour when a dog has arrived to acclimate him safely and comfortably. I only care for small dogs, under 30 pounds, and no puppies. Since I am retired, my schedule is pretty much staying around the house. There are no children and things are pretty quiet most of the time. About: I’ve been working with dogs for 6 years, but they’ve been my biggest passion since I was little. I have a certification in dog training, have taken a first aid class, and have experience with all kinds of pups! Dogs are my full-time job, which means your pup gets all of my time and attention! My day revolves around the care of my furr-ends! I have a fenced in yard and have a room in my home dedicated to the care of my clients! I have large comfy kennel spaces for each of my guests but if your pup happens to be social and non-destructive I would allow them to free-roam!
“Tina has been great with our dogs. She was very helpful and responsive in answering our questions prior to the booking. She is a very caring dog lover and asked detailed questions in getting to know our dogs and their specific needs. Her house is very clean and welcoming. Our dogs had a great time!”

About: I am a total dog lover! My husband and I rescued our dog Roscoe almost 6 years ago. He is one of the most spoiled dogs I know and is a huge mama’s boy. We enjoy hiking together, and going on walks and for runs along the local greenways in Charlotte and in the neighborhood. He enjoys having other dogs to play with and we pet sit for a few friends and neighbors when they go on vacation, having their dog come and spend time in our home. They always get excited when I pick them up and go home tired from all our walks and outdoor play in our fenced in yard. I send pictures and updates daily. We love spending time playing with other dogs, especially Roscoe! I’m a special education teacher and my husband works in the restaurant business, so he’s home most days and I’m home after school and evenings. I have a fenced in yard and a friendly, playful dog to keep your fur baby active. We are happy to crate your dog when we are not here/at night if this is what they’re used to. Otherwise, we block the stairs off when we need to leave with Roscoe upstairs and your pet downstairs.
About: Most of my life I have had pets, I love having them with me, play with them and give them affection and love. For me they are part of the family and I treat them like children. I have enough time to dedicate myself to them and take care of them as they deserve. When you leave me in their care, I dedicate myself to their exclusive care so that they are protected. I always keep them with me where I am safely and inside my house. When I'm with them, they are my priority. Having them by my side fills me with tranquility and company.

“This is our second time using JaXx, and it’s been great! Love the updates and the attention that she gives out little Yadi. We plan on making her part of the family! Highly recommend.”

“Sheila was awesome with my dog Walter. She was very patient and eager to learn about him and his quirks. She was very patient and gave Walter time to acclimate to the environment slowly. I would definitely recommend her to care for your pup!!”

“Sandra is very communicative and reliable! Bingo had a great visit for daycare with her. She sent many pics and videos so I knew he was well taken care of. Will definitely book again!!”

“We were visiting relatives and needed someone to take care of our peach. Ana did a great job for two nights. We were able to relax while enjoying our family without worrying about how peach was doing. Thanks Ana I recommend her if you need someone.”

“This was our first time using Alicia and the Rover site for our yellow lab Abby. Alicia was great to work with - super responsive and very helpful making sure Abby was comfortable with the other dogs who were also there. We came over for a meet and greet beforehand, and that was very helpful in getting her acclimated to the yard and house. There’s plenty of space for the dogs to play and explore and Abby had a great time! We will be back the next time we need a “home away from home” for her to stay!”

“Absolutely the best!!!! My pups were well taken care of. I received wonderful photos well me and hubby were out attending a birthday celebration for our two grandchildren two hors away. I highly recommend and will definitely use again if before September. Since they are making a move to Texas. We wish them well and really wish they were staying and had used them sooner. Thank you for loving our babies.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Hemby Bridge
Summer took wonderful care of my puppy, Bailey 🐾! She was incredibly kind, patient, and attentive, which made me feel so comfortable leaving Bailey in someone else's care for the first time. Throughout the day, Summer kept me updated with pictures and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing Bailey was happy and doing well. Communication was excellent from both drop-off to pick-up, and she took the time to learn about Bailey's routine and needs so she could provide the best possible care. I truly appreciated the love and attention Bailey received, and I wouldn't hesitate to book with Summer again. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy dog sitter!

Fantastic care and caregiver! I was so happy to have met Dorriann, she helped me out in a last minute pinch and has become our go to. Her Izzy welcomed our pup into her home with no problem. I would highly recommend Dorriann to anyone who wants their dog in a safe and loving space, whether it be for hours or longer. 10 stars!

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Hemby Bridge commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
