About: Hello! My name is Rachel and I am a biologist and lover of all animals. I grew up taking care of a number of pets, including many dogs and have been employed as a veterinary technician in the past. I foster dogs on and off from our local shelters. I am knowledgeable and compassionate in the care of pets and look forward to meeting yours! I am currently working part time from home and am available for potty breaks, dog walking, daycare, and boarding! I am active and would love to have some furry company on my walks. I am open to watching dogs at my home if they are friendly with other dogs. I have a young heeler who loves making new doggie friends! I also can watch pets at your house and/or take the dogs for outings! I have my own car with plenty of space for transporting.

Celia went above and beyond to make sure our cats were cared for while we were away. When her car broke down, she got a ride to our house to feed our cats. I really appreciate her commitment.

About: I grew up on a ranch with dogs, cats, horses, and cattle, and my boyfriend who I live with has had dogs his whole life. We love dogs of all size and ages and hope to adopt more in the future. Our schedules line up to where someone would be home with your pup 95% of the time! We offer daily walks and adventures if that’s what your pup needs as well, and lots of toys of course. We have a large fenced yard that your pup can play and run around in. We have a dog as well that they can play with outside or inside. We have crate that your pup can use if that’s what they need.

About: I grew up with dogs and have always considered them essential members of the family. We always had large breed dogs, and while they could be a lot of work, it was worth it to be able to go through life with these amazing creatures. I’m happy to spend time with your furry friend, whatever their energy level or particularities. I am a writer who works from home, so I can commit to spending plenty of quality time with your pup, going on walks or hanging out at home. I’m also happily to take them to the dog park once in a while if that’s something your pup enjoys. I have a fenced yard and a dog of my own. Bhalu is a 14-year-old lab mix who will be overjoyed to meet your pup for approximate 5 minutes, after which he will lose interest and go off to do his own thing.

About: I have experience with dogs and cats, young and old, easy and "difficult". I am very adept at walking and caring for reactive dogs who can have a hard time with other dogs and/or humans, and do my best to avoid any situations that can trigger reactive behaviors. I'm also happy to help keep up any training routines, I'm pretty proficient in general dog training, but I know it always comes down to the individual dogs for what works best. I often have people remark about their pets who usually don't warm up to new people immediately taking a liking to me! I'm also totally respectful of animals who do need time to get to know new people and always meet them where they're at, so more than welcome to accommodate those who need more introduction time. I've had dogs in the family my whole life, and have lived with many cats as roommates, and I've loved them all. I've done extensive house sitting everywhere from big cities to rural areas, for periods of time as long as two months, caring for animals as well as the house and surrounding property. My schedule is very flexible so I can make sure I have plenty of time to give my full attention to your animal friends, I live in a sweet quiet neighborhood in Arcata near the bottoms that's great for regular walks, and I have a car and am happy to take pups out on more special adventures too! I always check in about what's best for each dog, and can tailor care around what their usual schedule is with walks and feeding, what kinds of play they like best, and any training routines I can help reinforce during our time together. I make sure to take extra care with reactive dogs and avoid any situations that may trigger them as best as possible.

About: Hi! I have working around and with dogs and cats for most of my life, my grandma worked with fosters/rescues and at the Animal Shelter during my childhood and with the experience I have a very good understanding of how to handle most animals and provide them with love and care. I also have a 5 year old Border Collie who keeps me very busy, him and I spent 3+ years in intensive training (positive reinforcement only). This experience in training has helped me to understand cues, reactions and how to redirect with many different breeds of dogs. Thanks for checking out my profile, I’d love to help out with your pups and kitty’s! I am currently working part time so I have plenty of time to help out with your pets. Ideally late morning to evening and during the week is preferred but open to special circumstances! Ideally I would take care of your pets in your home as my yard is not fully fenced in and my dog Bean is territorial.

This was our first time using a pet sitter and Zalie was awesome. We have two dogs, one is nervous around people and she was very cautious of her space. It was piece of mind knowing our dogs were in good care. She was very attentive and active in checking in and the overall process. We definitely recommend Zalie and we look forward to having her for future visits.

About: 🐾 Reliable Pet Sitting & Walks — Dogs, Cats & Birds Welcome! Hi! I’m a dedicated animal lover offering dog walks and overnight pet sitting. I know how important it is to leave your pets with someone you trust, and I treat every animal in my care like they’re part of my own family. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and personalities—from energetic pups who need long walks to older dogs who prefer a slower pace and extra attention. I focus on keeping pets comfortable by following their normal routines, giving them plenty of exercise, playtime, and affection. I also have experience caring for birds of all kinds, which is something many sitters don’t offer. I’m comfortable helping with feeding schedules, cage care, and making sure your feathered friends stay happy and stress-free while you’re away. During overnight stays, I make sure your pets feel safe and relaxed in their own home while keeping things consistent with their daily routine. I’m attentive, reliable, and always happy to send updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pets are in good hands. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely loves animals and will care for your pets like their own, I’d love to help! Feel free to reach out with any questions—I look forward to meeting you and your pets! 🗓️ Schedule & Availability I currently work Wednesday–Saturday from 2 PM to 7 PM, but I still have availability for pet care depending on your needs. I’m typically available for: • Morning walks and drop-ins before 2 PM • Late-night check-ins after 11 PM • Overnight pet sitting • Sunday–Tuesday availability with a more flexible schedule When doing overnight stays, I make sure pets are fed, exercised, and comfortable before I leave for work and again when I return. I always try to keep their routine as normal as possible so they feel safe and cared for. Feel free to message me with your dates and your pet’s routine, and I’ll do my best to accommodate! 🛡️ Safety, Trust & Environment Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pets and your home, and I take that responsibility seriously. I always follow the routine and care instructions you provide, including feeding schedules, walks, medications if needed, and any special needs your pet may have. I pay close attention to behavior and comfort so pets stay happy and stress-free while you’re away. I’m respectful of your home and make sure everything stays clean, safe, and secure during overnight stays. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pets are being well cared for. My goal is to create a calm, safe environment where your pets feel comfortable and loved until you return home.

As of September 2026, there are 208 sitters on Rover offering Pet Sitting across Eureka. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Eureka stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Eureka. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
