When approaching safety, trust, and the environment during drop-in visits or overnight pet sitting in the owner's home, the I would prioritize the following: Safety: • Secure Environment: Ensure that the home is secure, with no hazards or potential dangers to the pets. • Supervision: Keep a close eye on the pets, especially if they have any medical conditions or behavioral issues. • Emergency Preparedness: Familiarize myself with the location of emergency supplies, such as a first aid kit and contact information for emergency veterinary services. • Pet Proofing: Safely store away any toxic substances, secure loose cords or objects that could be harmful if chewed, and ensure that doors and windows are securely closed. Trust: • Clear Communication: Maintain open and transparent communication with the pet owner, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns promptly. • Respect Boundaries: Respect the privacy and belongings of the pet owner, refraining from accessing areas of the home that are off-limits unless explicitly permitted. • Follow Instructions: Adhere to any specific instructions provided by the pet owner regarding feeding schedules, medication administration, exercise routines, and any other preferences for the care of their pets. • Professionalism: Conduct myself in a professional manner, demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and a genuine commitment to the well-being of the pets entrusted in my care. Schedule
I'll aim to mimic their daily routine as much as possible to maintain consistency and alleviate any anxiety. I also believe regular communication with the pet owner regarding updates and any concerns is also essential for peace of mind. Weekdays: • Morning Check-in: I can spend 20-30 minutes minimum with the pets. This includes feeding, providing fresh water, and engaging in some playtime or cuddles to ease any anxiety. • Mid-day: If for any reason I need to leave the house during the day, I will ensure I return at least once mid-day. This includes a bathroom break, refreshing water and food if needed, and a short play session or cuddle time to reassure the pets. • Evening Check-in : Upon returning home, I can allocate 1-2 hours for quality time with the pets. This includes feeding, a longer play session, grooming if necessary, and ample cuddle time to help them unwind from the day. Weekends: • Full-Time Attention: I am capable of dedicating the majority of the weekend to spending quality time with the pets. This includes longer walks or outdoor activities, extra play sessions, grooming and pampering, and plenty of affectionate cuddles.
