About: I’ve dog sat for about 10 different families over the past 10 years. From small dogs like chihuahuas to large breeds like mastiffs. I also watched the most interesting bengal cat! For many years I babysat children and cared for pets simultaneously. I was raised in an animal loving family, most nights I had a dog at the foot of my bed or a cat underneath it. I understand that pets are family and no one knows your pet like you. I am detail oriented and high energy. I’m am currently a student at Cal Poly Humboldt. I am a child development major. I took a step back from my work with early education to finish a few core classes. This makes my schedule quite open! I have a fully fenced yard with an extra high fence. It is mostly grass with small concrete pathway. I am never in school longer than 3 hours. I live in a quiet, pet friendly neighborhood.

“Bailey is truly a gem! She cared for our two reactive, mostly untrained dogs and our cat over a weekend away, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience—especially as first-time Rover users. She walked the dogs daily, sent us regular photo updates, and made us feel so at ease while we were gone. On her second stay, we had some unexpected behavior issues with one of our rescue dogs, who managed to dart out the door (not her fault at all—he’s a handful!). About: To name a few specific skills would be administering medication for cats and dogs, expert back and belly scratching, and behavior training with my own dogs at home. I work part time and have a ton of time to spend playing with your little buddy/buddies! I'm very flexible as my work schedule changes. But longterm sitting and walking can most certainly be arranged! I am currently unable to care for any pets in my own home at this time. Though that may change sometime in the near future.

About: I don't really have any special skills. We just love animals and we'd love to care for yours when needed. We can feed , walk , give medications , hug on and love your pets. I'm retired now and I don't have any recurring responsibilities so Im pretty much available, all the time. My daughter also lives here with me and she really , really , really loves animals. And she's excited that we are signing up for this , we can't wait. We have a large , three bedroom home with a den and fenced in backyard , and have a specific area in our den for animal care. We can set up whatever's needed depending on the animal and what their needs are.
About: Available for out of towners. Experience caring for husky’s, pit bulls, the big dogs, and small dogs. Happy to take care of their needs and giving them my time and energy! I check in daily on family members pets. Playing, grooming, walking, and spending time with their pets. I am working part time, with open availability. Fenced yard with a friendly dog as well as a cat that keeps to herself. Not currently boarding at home, but worth considering sometime in the future.

Mary had great communication, was punctual, and was super responsible. She was not intimidated by an anxious dog who barks a lot. She could handle him on walks even though he is big and can pull. Her day rate was reasonable. I would hire Mary again for sure.

This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
