About: I’ve taken care of my 2 dogs for 12 years. I grew up having 2 dogs and a cat to take care of at the same time, all different ages and breeds. I’m really into all animals and love just being able to be around them and meeting new ones. On my free time I volunteer at the Sequoia Park Zoo as well. I currently have a pretty open schedule. I definitely can accommodate and am open and flexible to working with your schedule as much as you need. I’ve been home alone a lot with my 2 dogs and had to raise them and a cat, so I talk and hang out quite a lot with pets when I’m around them. I really love petting animals as it gives me just as much enjoyment as it does them.

I have working around and with dogs and cats for most of my life, my grandma worked with fosters/rescues and at the Animal Shelter during my childhood and with the experience I have a very good understanding of how to handle most animals and provide them with love and care. I also have a 5 year old Border Collie who keeps me very busy, him and I spent 3+ years in intensive training (positive reinforcement only). This experience in training has helped me to understand cues, reactions and how to redirect with many different breeds of dogs. About: I have experience with dogs and cats, young and old, easy and "difficult". I am very adept at walking and caring for reactive dogs who can have a hard time with other dogs and/or humans, and do my best to avoid any situations that can trigger reactive behaviors. I'm also happy to help keep up any training routines, I'm pretty proficient in general dog training, but I know it always comes down to the individual dogs for what works best. I often have people remark about their pets who usually don't warm up to new people immediately taking a liking to me! I'm also totally respectful of animals who do need time to get to know new people and always meet them where they're at, so more than welcome to accommodate those who need more introduction time. I've had dogs in the family my whole life, and have lived with many cats as roommates, and I've loved them all. I've done extensive house sitting everywhere from big cities to rural areas, for periods of time as long as two months, caring for animals as well as the house and surrounding property. My schedule is very flexible so I can make sure I have plenty of time to give my full attention to your animal friends, I live in a sweet quiet neighborhood in Arcata near the bottoms that's great for regular walks, and I have a car and am happy to take pups out on more special adventures too! I always check in about what's best for each dog, and can tailor care around what their usual schedule is with walks and feeding, what kinds of play they like best, and any training routines I can help reinforce during our time together. I make sure to take extra care with reactive dogs and avoid any situations that may trigger them as best as possible.

About: Hello, my name is Kat and I work as a Registered Veterinary Technician and am currently looking to spend some extra hours caring for your dog, cat, farm or exotic pet. I have 10+ years experience in the veterinary field and a lifetime of experience loving and caring for animals. I'm comfortable working with animals with certain behavioral issues or treating for medical issues. I do work during the day on some weekdays and Saturdays so I would only be able to do morning and evening drop ins for 4 days out of the week and can spend nights for house sitting. I am available all day on Sundays and 2 other days of the week. I am unable to do dog boarding at home as our cat has some medical issues and I do not want to stress him out. I look forward to meeting and caring for your pet! In the client's home, I will always be respectful and courteous of both the home and the pet. I am happy to also water plants, bring in the mail or any other home care need while you are away. I will make sure to provide a lot of attention, treats and pets to any furbaby under my care.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
