“Outstanding care, a True Dog whisperer. Sequoia Humane Society hired Mark to care for Browner an d Odie over the Thanksgiving holiday - Two large dogs! Both are known to struggle with other dogs, including each other. I was honestly preparing for this to simply be a safe, calm stay...what we got was something truly incredible. From the very beginning, Mark asked all the right questions about behavior, needs, routines and safety. It was clear he understood these were not "easy" dogs and approach their care with thoughtfulness, patience and professionalism. I encouraged him to try socializing them only if he felt right about an opportunity. To our complete surprise, Brownie and Odie became best friends almost immediately in his care. This is something we have not been able to achieve in a shelter environment and seeing that transformation was nothing short of amazing. I moved to Eureka to have a new start and would love to continue to work with animals. I’ve worked with many different breeds and many different temperaments. I currently have two dogs of my own and a cat as well. I’ve grown up with all sorts of animals, such a horses, chickens, sled dogs and cats. I always recommend crates for any situation but in my own home I would crate all dogs and rotate based on how they all get along. Feeding in the crate or separate from other animals. Daily walks or hikes depending on the animal. Cats would get daily enrichment. If weather doesn’t permit or the animal isn’t able to get that day I’d offer mental enrichment such as lick mats, food puzzles, play, training, etc.

About: Hi, I’m Virgo (formerly Jeremy)! I’ve been dog sitting my friends’ dogs for about 10yrs, and working for a dog trainer for about 2yrs. (My parents tell me I’ve loved dogs my whole life, but I can only partly confirm.) A few things I like about dog sitting is discovering their personalities and learning how to interprete and anticipate their needs. I’m not intimidated by high-energy/high-intelligence dogs either! About: I have experience with dogs and cats, young and old, easy and "difficult". I am very adept at walking and caring for reactive dogs who can have a hard time with other dogs and/or humans, and do my best to avoid any situations that can trigger reactive behaviors. I'm also happy to help keep up any training routines, I'm pretty proficient in general dog training, but I know it always comes down to the individual dogs for what works best. I often have people remark about their pets who usually don't warm up to new people immediately taking a liking to me! I'm also totally respectful of animals who do need time to get to know new people and always meet them where they're at, so more than welcome to accommodate those who need more introduction time. I've had dogs in the family my whole life, and have lived with many cats as roommates, and I've loved them all. About: I have always been an animal lover. Since my teenage years we had dogs and cats in the house. Over the last 17 years I have lived with and cared for 2 dogs and two cats. Sadly 3 of them have passed on at this point, and It's just myself and my 12 yr old husky mix Suki now. I am only employed on a very part time basis, so I have a fairly open and flexible schedule for dog walking, home visits and boarding on most weekdays, and some weekends. I have a fenced back yard perfect for pets to hang out in, and there is also a covered area in the back yard if the weather is rainy. About: I've had large dogs since 1997. Currently I have 2 amazing dogs. A 3 legged great burnese, and a 1.2yr old burnese Mt. Dog. They are sweet and wonderful dogs with great manners and are super dog friendly. I also have 2 cats. Rick and Morty. They are a pair. Also very sweet and affectionate once they know you. They are indoor/outdoor 24/7 but avoid dogs. The love of my furry friends reflects who I am. I have 5 acres. This allows my dogs to mostly roam free as they stay close to home. It gives other dogs the opportunity to have a place to run around and play with other good dogs. There are also multiple leads amongst the property, as well as a gated and covered outside area if your pet isn't used to either of those situations. I spend almost all of my days working from home. So other than the occasional errand, I'm home. Otherwise, I exist for you and yours. My pets have water and food at all times. It's under a covered area so they are able to stay in the shade if they like. Otherwise my dogs are free to roam as they generally stay on the property. My property is not fenced. However with this undertaking dogs can be placed in the covered area when needed. They can be leaded if that's what you want. As well they are welcome in the house at any time. Your pets are free to relax anywhere they like. My dogs are very sweet and friendly. My 3 legged dog is not one to get to excited as he only has 3 legs. For the right dogs, my property is a paradise.

About: I have been trusted to take care of others’ pets for approximately nine years now. I absolutely adore animals and think they deserve the world, so your pet’s wants and needs are my number one priority! If my prices are not in your range, I am happy to negotiate something that is fair for us both. I am a full-time medical assistant who works 3 12 hour shifts each week. On my days off I have plenty of time to walk, bathe, feed, and play with your fur baby. I will go above and beyond to make sure your pets are comfortable while you’re away. I am willing to check in on your pets as many times as you feel necessary, or even stay with them throughout the day.
