About: I have had a love for animals since I was a young child. At the age of 8, against my parents wishes I snuck in an abandoned cat and it ended up being where my love for animals began. We have had many types of pets since then. Currently we have a 3 year-old German Shepherd whom we rescued from a shelter at 4 months of age. We also have a 1 year old Australian Cattle dog who is super energetic. I love spending time with animals, dogs in particular, because they are so playful, happy and full of unconditional love. I am responsible, caring and will take great care of you pet because I know that they are not only “pets” but are also members of your family. I will care for your pet like I would care for my own pets. I work full-time as a nurse practitioner but just started working some days from home. I figured, why not do something I love while also getting exercise at the same time. Note: the only breed of dog that I will not board in my home are pitbulls. My daughter had a traumatic experience with a pitbull so she is very triggered by that breed. I will gladly watch pitbulls in your home and care for them outside of my home. I think they do get a bad reputation for being an aggressive breed but due to our experience, we unfortunately don’t feel comfortable having them around our children. I am able to mainly available for pet care on the weekends. I am able to accomplish most evening/late evening or very early morning walks. Every other Tuesday I work from home so am able to break up my schedule this day. I care for my dogs in my backyard, which is fenced in. She is able to run around freely because we do have a large yard which allows her to burn off her energy. We also play fetch and she is able to spend a lot of her time running around there. We also go for walks around the neighborhood.

About: I’m a retired nurse who now wants to turn my nurturing skills to animals! I have had dogs and cats for many years (currently one dog) and have cared for others’ pets as well. I have experience administering medication to both cats and dogs. My dog Rocky and I are excited at the thought of having your pet in our home! We promise to taking loving care of your fur baby. I am usually home other than watching my grandchildren several hours a week. This is a flexible arrangement which allows me to frequently check in at home. I have a fenced in yard and a friendly dog to keep our guests company. I can accommodate pad trained dogs as well as outdoor trained.

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life and I’m one of those people that dogs like right away- even unfriendly dogs! I work from home a lot and make my own schedule for work, so I can easily keep your pupp entertained. I live alone and my dog is currently with my ex out of state, but I’m considering bringing him here. I have a truck and can take your dog on hikes and to dog parks if you’d like. I’m at home at least half the time and when I leave for work, it’s only for a few hours at the most. Having a dog around will keep me active and won’t hinder my work at all. My apartment has a dog park and I love going on long walks already around Elmhurst. I’d also love to drive the dog to dog parks or hiking trails. I have an 8 year old hound dog. He’s very friendly, well trained, 8 years old, and loves playing with dogs.

About: I’ve grown up with cats, but I’ve taken care of multiple dogs of various sizes and ages for years. I’m good at wearing them out on long walks or just playing, and I don’t mind giving them bath if needed or any other medical or cleaning care. I currently work pretty consistently, but I typically start around 8:30am and I get out earlier in the day rather than evenings so I could watch your pet after 4pm or so. I also mainly have the end of Saturday and Sunday-Monday off as well so those are times where I’m completely free. I will constantly spend time with time with them, buy either playing with their toys, or taking them on nice long walks or runs. I’m alright with crating them if need be, and I don’t mind if you have a large dog. They’re just more fun to play with.

About: My full time job is a teacher. But for the summer months, I’m spending time taking care of my other favorites, dogs and cats ! I am a teacher working rover for the summer! I am available for pet care everyday of the week for walking, sitting, and potty breaks. I promise to feed, walk, play with, groom, clean up after, monitor health, give affection, keep routine, and ensure safety and comfort at all times!

About: Hi Pet Parents! My husband’s “cat and certain dogs” allergy has evolved into a full blown, dangerous asthma situation with all fur babies. (Yes, he’s tried the inhalers, etc). It has become painfully clear, having pets with dander in our home is impossible. I DO love my husband, but I miss having fur babies around! As someone who has so much LOVE for and experience with animals, I have always helped others with their pets. It was a JOY to me even when I had pets of my own! I have found myself offering to walk friends’ dogs because I miss my own. It suddenly hit me I should sign up with Rover, so I can spend some time with pets looking for attention while their people are out. I have always had four-legged fur pets, but also fish, frogs and lizards and more. I have saved baby birds, random stray, sick and/or injured animals and have domesticated several feral cats. My interest in and care for all animals is constant. I am a Registered Nurse for humans, so I have extra knowledge, comfort and comprehension regarding medications. Between being an RN and a MOM, I’ve got the bases covered on attention to details, noticing subtle changes in pet’s behaviors and the art of double/triple checking things. While my motivation to sign up with Rover was my love for animals and a sincere selfish need to love some dogs and cats, my resume has me very prepared to manage my business and communications professionally. I have also hired sitters for my own pets during travel or long work days and know the awkward discomfort about having someone in my home and/or taking my pet somewhere. “Will they be as careful as I am so my cat doesn’t escape when they open the door?” Or “will they pay attention on the walk with other pets or kids are around? What if my dog gets away because they’re not being careful?” Or, as a former owner of a dog with a sensitive tummy, “do they get it that she CAN’T EAT ANYTHING on their walk - will they pay close enough attention?” Pet care can be a worry to distraction, when you could feel so at ease you actually forget someone else is coming in! When time allows, please tell me your typical routine and commands used, if your dog has allergies, takes medications, an injury, personality triggers. We will talk about whatever is specific to your fur family member, so I can provide the very best experience possible for both of you. In the case of an emergency or special circumstance when the luxury of time is not there to discuss details, you need a sitter who feels comfortable stepping in with your pet and caring for them with love, respect and confidence in your absence. I am your person! Whether your fur family members are dogs or cats, I will love them as my own. I look forward to meeting you and taking care of your pets! *Please Note* my children are 7 and 9 years old. They LOVE animals. Your pets will be loved and very well socialized by them, which is a bonus for most. That said, many pups are not at all interested in kids or the noise that they bring. If your pup just does not enjoy kids, this Doggy Day Care location would not be a comfortable fit for them. If your young puppy needs the socialization, we’ve got you covered! Due to my husband’s allergies, we cannot book overnights.

About: I worked at a doggy daycare/boarding for a year. I have experience with all different breeds of dogs. I have a flexible schedule and I’m willing to work with your busy schedule. I have some experience with animals on medications. I’m organized and always on time. You can always depend on me to make sure your furry friend is always taken care of. I’ll make sure to send you updates about your dog. I’ll make sure your dog has let out some pent up energy. I’m super playful and loving with all dogs and will give them extra love for you. I love all animals and I can’t wait to meet yours! I work full time remotely so I have time to be with your family member all the time if needed. I work 8-4 where it’s flexible timing. I believe all animals deserve love and affection. I’m patient if your furry friend needs more time to warm up to me or if they need space. I live in an animal friendly apartment complex with plenty of open grass and a playground down the street that your pet will enjoy.

About: Me and my daughter provide professional care of your dog in my home, offering a lot of dog walking, fun playing and love, we are taking pets from one household at time and have only one small dog Teddy who is very friendly. My daughter is home full time, she is 18, and she will be attending to all of your doggies needs. We have a lot of space for the dog to run around in. We would love to take care of your doggies! About: Hi there! My name is Anna and I am an occupational therapist working in the western suburbs of Chicago. I recently lost my 12 year old greyhound named Ringo. I have taken care of many cats and dogs over the years and love to help out when I can. I was a professional dog walker with Windy City Paws where I dropped in on cats and walked many dogs, and I’ve also worked for Wag in the past and have and loved it! I used Rover once before as a consumer and left Ringo for a few nights with a wonderful couple while I visited my family and it worked out so well! I am typically available for walks or drop ins during the week. I love being outdoors and taking care of animals of all kinds and would love to meet yours!! I work as a home health occupational therapist, and my schedule is very flexible. I schedule time with my patients to see them throughout the day, and can schedule my pet appointments that way too! I have been professionally trained to walk and care for dogs by Windy City Paws, and know most leash/collar/harness situations as well as defensive dog walking strategies if I meet a sensitive pup while I am walking a dog.
