I’m Aneta, and I provide attentive, high-quality care where your dog has my full focus every time we’re together. I’m highly in tune with each dog’s needs, use positive reinforcement, and make sure they feel safe, engaged, and genuinely happy, whether they’re high-energy or low-key, young or senior, social or shy. You can expect frequent photo and video updates (the frame-worthy kind). I’ve grown up around dogs of many breeds, including Dobermans, Dachshund, and Golden Retriever, and in 2020 became a proud Australian Shepherd mom. My girl, Holly, is energetic, affectionate, and frisbee-obsessed. We spend our time learning new words, exploring nature trails, and playing at our apartment dog park. I’ve been trusted by friends and neighbors for dog care, and I’d love to meet your pup and give them an experience you can feel great about while you’re away. I have a hybrid work schedule with Monday and Friday being remote, Tuesday through Thursday in office (with some flexibility). The office is in Northfield IL - midday visits in close proximity to Northfield will be considered. You can rest assured I know how to take care of your pup’s basic needs: food, water, activity/walks, taking care of business, and lots of love. I will look to you to share with me anything else that I should be mindful of for when I’m visiting your home. I’m a reasonable person and will consider and work to accommodate every reasonable request. If I’m visiting you in your home, I kindly request a 2-hour time window for each visit, if possible.

About: Ever since I was a kid, I’ve just really cherished being around animals, even the ones who aren’t super cuddly. I have a lot of patience and respect for each pet’s personality and comfort level, and I do my best to make them feel safe, happy, and cared for while their people are away. I work full time during the week and try to stay busy on the weekend, but I will absolutely work my weekend schedule around you/your pet’s needs. I have a big fenced backyard and plenty of space inside for house-trained pets to relax, whether that’s on the couch, a comfy chair, or the floor. I share my home with one dog, a terrier mix named Minnie. She’s playful and friendly, but if your dog prefers to keep to themselves, I can easily keep them separated. Older dogs sometimes find her a bit too energetic, while younger pups usually have a great time playing with her.

“Stephanie pup sat and house sat for us while we were out of town for over a week and she was FANTASTIC every step of the way. She came over to meet our two pups and they instantly connected, even our doggo who’s a bit of a scaredy cat loved her instantly. We explained the flow of a typical day before we left, and throughout the trip we never for a second worried that Stephanie needed extra reminders or pings. Stephanie sent us regular updates and pics of the pups as they explored the neighborhood on their leashed walks. Stephanie was also very clean and treated our place with a ton of respect - we’d had the place cleaned before we left and it looked even cleaner and tidier when we got back. Overall we were really happy with Stephanie, who helped us out immeasurably while also juggling her work. Our pups were well taken care of, our place was looked after, and I honestly can’t remember another trip we took where we didn’t have to worry at all about how our girls were doing, and we have Stephanie to thank for that!”

Most recently, I spent the summer interning at an animal sanctuary, where I tended to the over 300 animals that required care. Many of those animals were sick or injured, so I have a particular capability and fondness for caring for senior animals or pets with special needs. I also have dog-walking experience, including dogs with vision-impairment and chronic illnesses. I have grown up with pets my entire life, so I have lots of experience caring for dogs, cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, and fish. I love long walks, and am more than happy to accommodate your furry friend's desired activity level. I am incredibly punctual, reliable, and enthusiastic; you can count on me to go above and beyond to provide the safety, comfort, mental and physical stimulation, and love that your pet deserves. Generally, my weekly availability is: From 6:00 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Before 8 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday-Friday. Depending on what you ask me to do, I'm happy to take your pet on walks of your preferred length/level of intensity, drop by to provide food, water, games, cuddles, and company, and administer medication. I'm really happy to do whatever tasks are needed of me, just let me know!
