About: I currently work for VipPet care as a veterinary clinic assistant and have experience working in doggy daycare environments. I also volunteer at the shelters in Sacramento and have been volunteering at other shelters for the past 5 years. I have also taken care of many animals throughout my life, including dogs (all ages), cats, turtles, hamsters, fish, and rabbits. I will take time to build trust with each pet, whether it’s through gentle play, regular walks, or just keeping them company. I maintain a clean, calm environment and give each pet plenty of attention, love, and care. Communication is also important to me, I will provide updates and photos so pet parents feel reassured while they’re away. Working in the vet field has given me experience giving oral and injectable medications if needed as well.

“The best gift when you can't take your companions on a trip is to know someone will take care of them and give you a peace of mind. Ashley did. She is amazing and is a great communicator. I left behind a 14 year old blob and a 6 years skittish lab and I was worried about the younger pup. It was the 14 year old senior that kept Ashley up at night. Ashley kept me posted on the situation, we kept the communication open to make sure Hunter is ok. Things happened but the best way to know how awesome your substitute is, is to experience their problem solving ability. Ashley got everything under control. I highly recommend Ashley and would love to get her help again. She is definitely more than 5 stars rating.”

About: I've had pets all of my adult life and most of my adolescence. When I was a teen my dad decided he wanted a farm and I helped care for cows, sheep, goats, chickens, and ducks. I have also been around horses since I was 7 and currently have a roommate that has horses and I help care for them on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I started dog sitting for friends when I was 19 or 20 and do it when I can even now. I love animals and have helped with many different kinds. Currently my husband and I have 2 dogs, Rory (female, doberman) and Brianna (female Chihuahua/Corgi mix) Wednesdays, and thursdays I help my roommate feed/water her horses once in the morning and once in the late afternoon. Currently, I have an in person class on mondays and wednesdays at 6pm and 2 other classes online. Sunday afternoons and Tuesday evenings I have religious meetings I go to other than that I am free to stay at someone's house let them out during the day or even stay for a bit to visit with the fur-babies while I do some school work. Im not offering boarding at my home, but when visiting someone else's house I am able to feed, check waters, clean up little accidents, and let the dog in and out of the home into their yard or if the dog/owner prefers a quick walk I can do that too. I can also throw their favorite toy around with them if this is the preferred exercise

Here’s what a typical day looks like: In the morning, I take them out for a nice walk right after I wake up — usually to the park where they can get some exercise and sniff around. After we get back, it’s breakfast time and a bit of rest. In the afternoon, I usually take a break from work to play games with them — whether it’s fetch indoors or a quick outing if the weather allows (though it’s been pretty hot lately, so I always make sure it’s safe and comfortable). In the early evening, around 7 or 8 when it cools down, we go out again for another walk or potty break. After that, it’s time for dinner and winding down for the night. I always make sure they’re well-exercised, well-fed, and feeling loved before bedtime. In my home, I provide a safe and comfortable environment for pets. I live in a spacious two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment with a large living room, which allows me to accommodate pets in various ways based on their needs. If a dog requires a crate, I can easily set one up in either a bedroom or the living room. If they prefer not to be crated, they have the freedom to roam throughout the entire apartment safely. I ensure the space is clean, secure, and pet-friendly at all times. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their routines and environment, following any specific instructions they provide to maintain consistency and comfort for the pet. Special accommodations can also be made for pets with unique needs. I’m happy to provide a quiet, low-stimulation space for shy cats or anxious animals, extra comfort and support for senior dogs, or a more active and engaging environment for energetic puppies.
