I’m currently unemployed and providing full time services. This means I can work around you or your pets schedule and house/pet sit for hours or days at a time if needed. About: I have experience taking care of several types of dogs, cats and even a bird in the last 5 years. Every week, my work does a “Buddy Day” with the humane society where we have an adoptable dog come hangout with us for the day and then I bring them back at the end of the day. This has exposed me to so many different types and personalities of dogs! I’m also comfortable giving medication and taking care of pets that may be under the weather. I’m currently working full time during Tuesday-Saturday (7:30am-3pm) but am able to leave for lunch to check on or let your pet outside to potty or walk. I work and live in downtown Durango. I’m available daily in the evenings. The safety and well-being of your pet is my #1 priority. Making sure gates and locks are secure, proper leashes/harnesses are being used, following all the care instructions exactly and sending regular updates (if you’d like) to keep communication open are a few things I’ve found keep your pet safe and happy. In general, I just want to create an environment that your pet will thrive in.

The reason I know she was amazing is, usually when we return home to our dogs, they are so excited and can hardly control themselves. About: I’ve taken care of almost all kinds of animals since I was very young and I adore all pets and understand the necessity of pet sitters. I have done foster care for puppies, kittens, and special care senior animals alike. I’m a quick learner and dedicated to the absolute best for your pet. My only obligations are to take care of my own animals in the morning, evening, and midday. Which often is a quick routine and can be taken over by a loved one if necessary! I have an unfenced yard and hiking trail for walking dogs directly behind my apartment, I’m also close to a large field for stimulation if they need more activity and love going on hikes as well. Chris was fantastic with our whole crew (two big coonhounds and a cat) while we were away for two weeks on our honeymoon. He took great care of everyone, giving them lots of love and attention and making sure they got some exercise and fun time too. On top of the three animals, Chris watered our insane houseplant collection, which is practically a part time job on its own, and everyone was happy and healthy when we came home. Merran is wonderful! We have a household full of misfit pets; a reactive Border Collie, a reclusive DSH, and a demanding tuxedo cat that is always looking to make a break for the door. Merran masterfully managed all of them - never missing a beat. With consistent, predictable communication, we always knew how the day went for all of our furry children. And to cap it all off, our home was left in a better condition than when we left. We will absolutely re-book with Merran at any opportunity.
Flora was amazing with our big and complicated crew! I could not recommend her enough. She took great care of our 15 year old dog and 14 year old cat, both of whom get multiple meds each day, on top of handling our two younger, rowdy coonhounds. She took the young hounds on walks and hikes and played tug and fetch with them to keep them happy and chill. She sent lots of adorable photos and updates throughout our trip, which we love getting! She was super responsive and just an overall pleasure to work with. We’ll be booking again if she’s not sick of our crazy pack of animals!!
If we could leave 10 stars we would! My dog Trouble is usually very standoffish, but the minute Deb walked in he was in love! I believe certain people have a dog-positive instinct and energy, and picked up on it immediately. We had Deb house sitting (and Trouble playing) two different days.
