“Alyssa took great care of Henri and Nyx while we were out of town. She played with Nyx and exercised her. She cleaned up messes that our pet made and left the house spotless. Nyx and Henri would like to have her come back another time. :)”

About: I’ve grown up with animals my whole life. My childhood household always had small or medium sized dogs, a cat, and even some fish, who I all loved dearly. In high school, I took after school classes to prepare me to become a vet tech, but I have since pursued other passions. Besides my own pets, I have some experience pet sitting dogs of all sizes, including an elderly dog, mostly as favors for friends and family. My years of experience is a rough estimate given I grew up with pets. Since moving away from home for college, I miss being around animals and I am more than willing to provide the love and care necessary for pet sitting. I just finished my Bachelors degree in cellular and molecular biology, and I start a PhD program this fall in the same field. I am currently unemployed with a lot of free time, and I miss being around animals since being away from home. So, at the moment, I have no set schedule and I am eager to spend time with some pets. At my home in Alaska, we would walk our dogs daily and they would have access to a fenced yard in the daytime. The dogs would have food out all the time and did not have any weight issues. My cat gets fed twice a day with playtime, and she also gets brushed once a day. Her litter box also gets cleaned once a day. My animals are low maintenance and I am more than happy to accommodate pets that might require more assistance.
“Patty was excellent! She is very communicative, sends tons of updates, reliable and a true dog lover. She made me feel so comfortable watching our pup while we were out of town.”

About: I’ve taken care of a variety of animals in my life, including cats and dogs. Because of my experience, I’m familiar with the many different scenarios that can come up during pet care. I’m currently unemployed and providing full time services. This means I can work around you or your pets schedule and house/pet sit for hours or days at a time if needed. Frequent potty breaks and walks are also no problem for me. I’m very attentive to animal needs and can recognize different types of body language very quickly. These includes signs of aggression, anxiety, hunger, needing to go out, etc. and I can respond appropriately and in a timely manner.
“Sarah was absolutely wonderful! During our meet-and-greet, she was really easy to talk to and has a very calm and confident demeanor. She house-sat and watched my dog over the holidays, took him out for exercise and sent pictures every day. She was really communicative, respectful of the house, and even checked in about leaving everything washed and ready for my return after a long day of travel - she really went above and beyond!”

“We hired Emily for two weeks to take care of our dog and our home while we traveled. She provided excellent care of our fur baby sending us pictures of him and daily updates on activities. We arrived home to a meticulous house and a happy dog. What a great sitter Emily is! I would highly recommend her to anyone.”

About: I have lived in a dog friendly household ever since I can remember. Growing up, my family always had Boxers so I am more than used to taking care of energetic dogs. I have helped raise many a puppy, as well as cared for our family dogs as they eased into old age. I recently adopted a puppy from Northern Arizona Animal Search and Rescue. We are working on socializing her with both dogs and people. She absolutely loves playing with other dogs! I currently work from home full time so I will be home the entire time your pet stays with me. I am also a runner and run 7 days a week, so I would be more than happy to take your pup with me for a short run, walk, hike or whatever it is that you would like! I have a larged fenced in yard with a gate for your dog to play in. I also have plenty of room in my house to store a crate if needed!

About: Ive been house/pet sitting for folks in my neighborhood since I was in middle school. I've always loved animals and always had a few of my own my entire life, ranging from livley puppies to much older dogs (same with cats), I can easily say ive taken care of many animals of different kinds of training and age ranges. Some dates around August might be a little finicky as I'm planning on moving but until I know more details I'm keeping my availability open! I am currently working part time! Typically my schedule is mid-day shifts (10-4) on the weekends, the weekdays I work 4-8 on Tuesday and Thursday and 11-8 on Wednesday. That being said my schedule is fairly flexible especially on weekends, my Mondays and Fridays I have off entirely! I can crate any pets that may need it, will happily stay in the same space for extended periods of time, and when on walks or outdoor activities keep the dog on a leash unless in an enclosed space. I'm open to instructions especially if there are certain ways that a household does something.
About: I’ve grown up caring for animals my entire life and have hands-on experience with dogs, cats, bunnies, guinea pigs, and other small animals. Being around a variety of pets has taught me how to understand different personalities, routines, and care needs. I’m patient, dependable, and genuinely love spending time with animals, whether that means long walks, playtime, or simply giving them attention and comfort while you’re away. I treat every pet like they’re my own and always make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for! I am taking a gap year after college and will be doing lots of road tripping. I would love to explore new cities, and since I'm not working I will have all day to play with and care for your pets! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I make sure pets are fed on schedule, get plenty of exercise and attention, and feel comfortable while their owners are away.
“Matthew was flexible with our schedule and accommodated our 3 dogs at his home with a lovely fenced yard. He sent updates and pictures and our dogs had a great time!”

“Sammy was amazing. We received pictures everyday with a little recap. Luna seemed perfectly happy while we were away, I don't think she missed us at all. Sammy also left the house very clean, which was appreciated when we got home late.”

About: I grew up in Alaska, surrounded by all types of dogs and have cared for animals from less than 10lb to 100. I love animals in all shapes and sizes and will accommodate to whatever your pet needs are. I’m happy to take a dog for a hike to get all the energy out or just chill with a kitty at home. I’ve had many friends, family and strangers trust me with taking care of their pet. I treat them just as my own, understanding how precious your fur babies are to you! I just got off a fishing boat and have a flexible schedule and can make random times of the day free to play with animals and can accommodate to the pets physical needs. I will follow any guidelines requested for the care of your pet. I’ll make your pet feel as safe and comfortable as possible, treating them with respect, patience and calmness.
About: I’ve taken care of close relative’s pets (cats, dogs, horses, chickens) numerous times. My friend owns 5 cats and each one enjoys my company. I work mornings at my primary job, but after 1 pm, I’m free to begin any services. Two days during the week, I can provide services in the morning as well! I would really like to add a fur buddy or two to my outside time! I’m pretty good with following steps and routines. My friends and family relatives trust me entering their homes and caring for their pets, I’m hoping to be given opportunities to get to know your pets!
“Chris did a great job looking after our two dogs. He was very consistent with update and photos, asked questions to make sure the dogs and house were taken care of well, kept the house clean & neat and went the extra mile for us. We will definitely reach out to him when we need someone to look after our dogs. Thanks Chris.”

“Bailey was great! She was so sweet and spent time with my dog for the evening so she wasn’t alone. Bailey sent me updates and pictures to keep me up to date on how my dog was doing. I would highly recommend her!”

About: I have experience taking care of several types of dogs, cats and even a bird in the last 5 years. Every week, my work does a “Buddy Day” with the humane society where we have an adoptable dog come hangout with us for the day and then I bring them back at the end of the day. This has exposed me to so many different types and personalities of dogs! I’m also comfortable giving medication and taking care of pets that may be under the weather. I’m currently working full time during Tuesday-Saturday (7:30am-3pm) but am able to leave for lunch to check on or let your pet outside to potty or walk. I work and live in downtown Durango. I’m available daily in the evenings. The safety and well-being of your pet is my #1 priority. Making sure gates and locks are secure, proper leashes/harnesses are being used, following all the care instructions exactly and sending regular updates (if you’d like) to keep communication open are a few things I’ve found keep your pet safe and happy. In general, I just want to create an environment that your pet will thrive in.
“Lucy is great! She is super respectful, responsible, and easy to work with. She took excellent care of our large and active dog for 9 days with lots of dog walks, treats, and snuggles! She sent updates and pictures of our dog to set our minds at ease and left our home clean for our return. I will definitely book Lucy again if she is available! Thank you Lucy!”

About: I love thru hiking, backpacking and traveling. I often pet sit for my friends while they are out of town. This will often include staying at their place and tending to their pets. I travel a lot so having a dog for me right now is not possible. Through pet sitting I get to give high quality care along with scratching my itch to have a pet. I am detail oriented and love being out side and giving cuddles! I am very neat and clean. I have plenty of time on my hand to play with pups and take them on walks right now. I will be working for the conservation corps starting at the end of March. I just returned from thruhiking in New Zealand and am looking to make a little extra cash before my next gig. I would love to be tending to pups and taking them outside in this time period. I would be able to occupy my time and give top notch care for pups around town! I originally moved to Durango in 2014. I have lots of experience in the restaurant industry around town. I spent a few years doing seasonal work including raft guiding and working to build ice castles. Over the past few years I have started to get more grounded in Durango. I returned to the restaurant industry before my trip to New Zealand. I am a trustworthy person and will oblige with all house rules when coming into your home. I can check in on your pup as much as needed during the day and help with light housework.

About: I’ve been around dogs and cats since birth! My dad was a k-9 cop so I’ve been around all kinds of dogs. I love cats too and my cats are my babies!!! I am looking for sitting closer to the downtown Durango area or Home Depot area. I teach preschool in town so I would love to be able to spend quality time with your pets in the mornings before work and in the evenings and weekends after work. I would prefer to be at a client’s home. I live far out of town so it would be more convenient for me to follow the instructions of the client.

Sammy is the best! She took amazing care of our dog and cat while we were traveling and left the house so, so clean. Our pup got a bit sick right before we left, and she handled everything with total ease. Truly a great experience, it couldn’t have gone better. Thanks so much, Sammy!

Trista left the house immaculate. She left a little note about how she left Lush fed ( at certain time) and the last she took her out. Lush seemed very excited to see us, but not in a nervous way. I think she did a great job! She communicated with us while we were away on our vacation. I would highly recommend Trista for your pet care.

Jasmine did a GREAT JOB with both our doggies' care and feeding and with the details of our house. She had to navigate a food delivery and was very patient while it worked out. The doggies were happy to see us and the house was well kept and clean when we arrived home. Thank you Jasmine, your thoughtfulness is appreciated!
Merran is wonderful! We have a household full of misfit pets; a reactive Border Collie, a reclusive DSH, and a demanding tuxedo cat that is always looking to make a break for the door. Merran masterfully managed all of them - never missing a beat. With consistent, predictable communication, we always knew how the day went for all of our furry children. And to cap it all off, our home was left in a better condition than when we left. We will absolutely re-book with Merran at any opportunity.

Flora was amazing with our big and complicated crew! I could not recommend her enough. She took great care of our 15 year old dog and 14 year old cat, both of whom get multiple meds each day, on top of handling our two younger, rowdy coonhounds. She took the young hounds on walks and hikes and played tug and fetch with them to keep them happy and chill. She sent lots of adorable photos and updates throughout our trip, which we love getting! She was super responsive and just an overall pleasure to work with. We’ll be booking again if she’s not sick of our crazy pack of animals!!

If we could leave 10 stars we would! My dog Trouble is usually very standoffish, but the minute Deb walked in he was in love! I believe certain people have a dog-positive instinct and energy, and picked up on it immediately. We had Deb house sitting (and Trouble playing) two different days. We never worried one bit and received periodic pictures and updates! Trouble made a best friend that day, and he highly recommends Deb for all of your dog related needs! Thank you, Deb, you took a lot of worry out of our vacation!

Brigid housesat for us and took care of our 3 animals while we were gone for a weekend. She did an amazing job feeding them, playing with them, walking the dog, constantly keeping me updated through texts, and they all absolutely loved her! The house was clean and nothing was out of place when we got back, she even went the extra mile to wash the sheets, which I really appreciated. I highly recommend Brigid for any services that you need, I will definitely be booking with her again in the future!

Erin was absolutely wonderful watching our senior black lab at our house for three nights. She sent pictures and updates which made us feel more at ease on our getaway. Erin responds promptly & is very responsive. We would love & trust to have her watch Gracie again! 10/10 recommend Erin’s services.
