“Kristina is fantastic! My Zoe had lots of fun with her dog, Lucky. I wish I lived in the area so that she could watch my girl whenever I do something that doesn’t welcome dogs. There is lots of room for a dog to roam within a fenced area and they are welcome inside and outside the house. She even took her for a 3 mile walk! I definitely recommend!”

About: Hello fellow dog lovers! With over 20 years of experience owning and caring for dogs, I understand the deep bond between humans and their furry companions. Although I cannot host pets in my rental overnight, I’d love to take your dog for a walk or house sit where they feel most comfortable- your home! I work from home, which allows me the flexibility to provide care both during and outside of regular business hours. Whether it’s a midday walk, evening playtime or weekend adventure, I’m here to ensure your dog receives the attention, love and exercise they deserve. If you book me for pet sitting in your home, you can feel at ease knowing that I will respect your space and make it a goal of mine to leave your space as clean as you left it. Let’s connect and discuss how I can offer your dog the right care and attention to make you feel comfortable when you can’t be with them. I look forward to meeting you and your pups! I work from home and have a fairly flexible schedule! I can provide pet services within or outside of regular business hours- let’s discuss your pets needs and I can likely fit them in to my schedule, no problem! I love clients who offer detailed lists of their pets needs and daily routines! I used to do the same with my dog and know that following something like this gives everyone involved (dogs included!) ease of mind.
“My 2 dogs took to Carole the minute we stepped in the door. I felt very comfortable leaving my dogs with her for the day. They were very well cared for. Communication was very good while scheduling the visit and the day of services. I highly recommend Carole!”

About: I have taken care of a variety of animals, starting from a young age. My parents had a little farm and a love for Boxers, a very high energy breed. I have a preference for Great-Danes and other gentle giants, but I love all dogs! Our 1.5 acre backyard is fenced and ready for your pet to play, potty, and chill with our 8 year-old graying pup, Olympus. I walk my pet one mile everyday and often run another mile on my own since my dog is elderly and cannot run with me. Meals are twice, sometimes three times a day. I clean the floors, rugs, and all doggie blankets once a week to maintain a hygienic environment. I work from home so I am always around. I have a flexible schedule that can fit your pups needs. I can manage high-energy pups and dogs with separation anxiety. I have air conditioning and I have an insurance plan through Pet Care Insurance.
“Ansley is the sweetest and best! She send me several photos throughout the day and I could tell Simba was having a blast and made new friends. I would definitely recommend and will use Ansley’s care again in the future. :)”

“Virginia had the perfect place for dogs! Her and her husband also helped us when our jeep decided to break in their driveway. We didn’t get to go on our train ride but we broke down in the perfect place since we had their help. The dogs loved playing with a couple new friends there so got their playtime in while we took care of the jeep. We will be back”

“Becca was great! Will definitely be using her next time we are in town. Our dog was able to play with hers and relax outside throughout the day. He did not want to leave his new friend when we picked him up. Would 100% recommend!”

“We dropped our fur baby off while we went to the Durango train for the day! The whole family was welcoming and we felt so comfortable leaving Kobe with them. Gave us several updates and I know our dog had fun playing with theirs! Thank you for an amazing first-timer Rover experience!”

“Amazing first time Rover experience! Our puppy had so much fun and was loved and played with. We will absolutely use Gabriela and Joshua next year for our annual camping trip.”

About: I have been working with animals since I was a child! I grew up on a farm with horses and our trusty yellow Labradors, learning from an early age the true meaning of taking care of others. I love providing dogs the happiest experience - I find such joy when playing, running, skiing, or hiking with dogs and seeing the BIG smile on their faces! Any pups that stay with me, my husband, and our goofy dog, Miles, will have a fantastic time, as well as guaranteed adventure (as appropriate!). When your pup stays with us, he/she will never be left alone and will be treated as one of our own. Having fur-babies of our own, I understand the importance of knowing that your pup is well taken care of according to his/her needs. We hope to see you soon! I work full-time from home with a flexible schedule. Considering this, your pup will never be left alone and enjoy our company (and snuggles) 24/7. I have a flexible schedule and will update my calendar weekly as needed regarding my availability. Our home is located in Rafter J on three acres, ~10 minutes from downtown Durango. We have one dog named Miles, a seven-year-old Weimaraner who has a goober personality and LOVES to play with other dogs.
About: I’ve been a pet owner for nearly 30 years — from growing up with our family’s Border Collies and house cats, to raising my own Jack Russells throughout adulthood, to caring for two rescue kittens in college. I’m equally comfortable with dogs and cats of all personalities and needs. What sets me apart is the range of care I’ve provided. I’ve raised a Jack Russell puppy from the wild, zoomie-filled stage into a well-behaved, confident adult, so I’m patient, consistent, and great with puppies who need structure and gentle training. I’ve also cared for a 17-year-old senior dog during his end-of-life stage, which taught me how to support pets who need slower routines, medication, and close, intuitive attention. I fostered an entire litter of puppies and their mom from an overcrowded shelter, so I’m familiar with round-the-clock care, monitoring, and meeting shy or sensitive animals where they are. Between that and my own lifelong pet experience, I’ve worked with animals at every life stage and energy level. I’m single with plenty of free time, which means your pets get steady attention, affection, and a calm, reliable presence while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because of the flexibility I have in my career. I’m a real estate agent with a team beneath me, which means I create my own schedule and have other agents I can rely on if I’m ever occupied. That gives me plenty of space in my days for walks, check-ins, playtime, and consistent attention. I’ve actually considered getting another dog over the last couple of years, but I haven’t felt ready for the full-time commitment again. A friend suggested I join Rover as a way to support other pet owners in the community while still getting to pour my love, energy, and care into animals — and it’s the perfect fit. Your pets get someone who’s genuinely excited to spend time with them and has the availability to be fully present. I’m very affectionate and hands-on with the pets I care for — they get plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship. I genuinely love walking, so having a dog join me on my daily walks is the best part of my routine. Whether it’s a neighborhood stroll, a peaceful loop along the River Trail, or a fun outing to the Smelter dog park, I make sure pets get the activity and stimulation they need. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their routines closely so everything feels familiar and comforting. I’m attentive to feeding schedules, potty breaks, behavior changes, and whatever little rituals make each pet feel at ease. My goal is always to create a safe, loving, and engaging experience — whether they’re with me for a few hours or a few days.
About: I am every pups favorite Auntie because I am patient, very loving, and well trained with different breeds, personalities and age ranges. I have experience working with rescue dogs as well as therapy dogs. I am a very active person and love an excuse to get outside and walk, hike, play as much as possible. I have a natural sense as to what the animals are feeling and capable of. I find the company of animals to be significant and always enjoyable. I will most definitely love and take care of your dog with undivided attention as if it is my own. If there's anything you practice at home with your pet, I will certainly help to enforce any rules, training, habits, you wish to maintain.
About: I have had dogs in my life since I was a child and have adopted 2 rescue puppies here in Durango. I have looked after friends and my parents' dogs as needed. Daily dog walks - I take our 2 dogs on hikes/walks every day, so your furry friends will fit right in! Personalized attention – I only take one client at a time (up to 2 dogs from same client) and our household is semi-retired so your dog(s) will never be left alone. Safe, fenced yard for off leash play. Convenient in town location. I know firsthand how hard it can be to find sitters you truly trust. I live in town in Durango and have noticed that there are very few local sitters who take dogs on walks. That’s exactly what I'm offering - a comfortable home environment with walks, a yard and no crates. My home is located right in town, with a secure fenced in yard where dogs can run, play, and relax. No long drives out of the way — just easy drop offs and peace of mind. I have two friendly dogs who love to play, we are all very active and will take your pup on regular daily hikes. Whether your pup loves chasing toys or lounging in the sun, they’ll have company and enrichment here. I built this service around what we ourselves struggled to find in Durango: sitters who combine excellent care (daily walks) with in-town convenience. Your pup will be treated like family, with space to play and friends to bond with.
“We were so happy to have found Jenny. My dog Freya and her pup Luna had a blast playing, napping and hanging out at Jenny's place. Jenny was responsive, communicative, and accommodating. Freya can't wait for her next doggie daycare or overnight! We highly recommend Jenny (and Luna) :-)”

My 2 dogs took to Carole the minute we stepped in the door. I felt very comfortable leaving my dogs with her for the day. They were very well cared for. Communication was very good while scheduling the visit and the day of services. I highly recommend Carole!

Matthew watched my older Frenchie while we took a day trip for some challenging hikes. My pup adjusted immediately and was so comfortable at Matt’s place. It’s a literal dog haven. He’s been so chill since we picked him up. Little dude loves it there! Highly recommend Matt if you’re traveling and needing a trustworthy sitter.

We had an amazing experience with Nastasiya and Kyle! They took excellent care of Toby, and treated him like their own! They even took him on a hike and dog park! Very communicative and friendly! If we are visiting in Durango again we will definitely go to them again!

Upon bringing Sadie to Camryn's home, she greeted Sadie right away and made Sadie feel she was in a safe place. Sadie's first time staying with someone she didn't know went well. I checked in midway through her stay Camryn let me know Sadie was doing good. As I picked Sadie up from her stay she was comfortable and happy to see me. I was pleased to see Sadie and Camryn enjoy each other's company. Would recommend Camryn to anyone looking for a dog sitter.

Pete had such a lovely time with Emily and Pepper! We were in Durango for the weekend and Emily watched Pete while we went horseback riding back riding. She sent pictures and videos— it was obvious he was having a great day! Now we’re back at our VRBO and he’s sound asleep :-)

Deb was amazing! Very communicative before we arrived and I know she and Cooper had a blast while we were visiting Durango. I would recommend her without hesitation for anyone visiting Durango and wanting to go to a national park, but can’t bring their dog. She will take great care of them, wear them out and become their new best friend.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CO ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
