“Deb was wonderful with Cassie! Cassie was in great spirits when we picked her up after spending 7 hours with Deb in her home. We’re here from Hawaii but will definitely trust Deb to care for Cassie when we’re in town.”

“Nastasiya was wonderful! My dog immediately felt comfortable and I was able to relax knowing my dog was in excellent hands. If I didn’t live in another state I would definitely be using her again.”

About: I have had pets ever since I can remember. Throughout my life, I have had people trust and rely on me to watch their animals. I am a river guide, and fellow guides often need other people to watch their dogs while they are on the river. I am peoples first go-to-dog watcher. I am currently rehabbing from an injury and do not have work. I am very flexible; I have plenty of time to give animals the care they need. I have a yard for pets. I live right by the river trail. It is perfect for walks. I also live right across a park that is great for fetch and games throughout the day.
About: Growing up, my family did not allow pets in the home. I defied that rule! I adopted my first dog in 2001 and have rescued dogs since then. Dogs are just the best! I have worked for Wag! so I'm moving over to Rover to expand my client base. I have experience with special need dogs as well as senior dogs. I am currently working from home full time. I’m also a home body so your pets will always have company! I’m also okay with car rides as my back seat is equipped with a cover and seatbelt. I live out in the country by Elmore’s corner. This property is spacious and also has a fence for the pups to run in. The pups are allowed on the furniture and the bed. My CavaPoo is super sweet and yearns to make friends with all dogs.
About: I have had dogs in my life since I was a child and have adopted 2 rescue puppies here in Durango. I have looked after friends and my parents' dogs as needed. Daily dog walks - I take our 2 dogs on hikes/walks every day, so your furry friends will fit right in! Personalized attention – I only take one client at a time (up to 2 dogs from same client) and our household is semi-retired so your dog(s) will never be left alone. Safe, fenced yard for off leash play. Convenient in town location. I know firsthand how hard it can be to find sitters you truly trust. I live in town in Durango and have noticed that there are very few local sitters who take dogs on walks. That’s exactly what I'm offering - a comfortable home environment with walks, a yard and no crates. My home is located right in town, with a secure fenced in yard where dogs can run, play, and relax. No long drives out of the way — just easy drop offs and peace of mind. I have two friendly dogs who love to play, we are all very active and will take your pup on regular daily hikes. Whether your pup loves chasing toys or lounging in the sun, they’ll have company and enrichment here. I built this service around what we ourselves struggled to find in Durango: sitters who combine excellent care (daily walks) with in-town convenience. Your pup will be treated like family, with space to play and friends to bond with.
“Matthew was wonderful, he kept us informed while our girl was in his care and she was so happy after what I believe she thought was a wonderful play date. Highly recommend him.”

About: I’m a stay at home mom with two young boys and a friendly pup in need of some playmates. Between the house and the trails we spend lots of time in dog-friendly environments and are excited to show love to some sweet doggos. Between outdoor excursions with the kids, much of our time is spent at home. On the weekends our family will be getting outside as much as possible and always love the company of extra pups. Our rural home has a dog door to a large yard with a 4’ fence. Our active adult lab mix loves nothing more than playing with other pups.
“Starr was ABOVE and BEYOND! We visited for the San Juan Brew Festival, and they don't welcome dogs (shame). So thank God we found Starr and she met us and picked them up and took care of them while we were at the fest. Then she brought them back to us which was a huge help! Fully recommend her :-)”

About: For as long as I could remember, I have always had a dog in my life. I grew up with a gentle yellow lab/golden retriever that practically raised me and my siblings. From there I had other dogs in my childhood until my early 20s. Throughout the last 8 years, I have been trusted by friends, family, and other references to take care of their fur babies while they were out of town. I truly enjoy being a pack leader and would love to treat your precious child with the most attention and praise. With my current schedule, I have the flexibility to work remotely, which means I can be physically present with your dog throughout the entire visit. Together, we can go for leisurely walks, indulge in plenty of belly rubs, and spend quality time in their preferred surroundings. My utmost priority is to ensure that your dog feels completely at ease while you are away. When it comes to house sitting, I approach the task with utmost respect for your environment, treating it as if it were my own. Maintaining cleanliness on a daily basis is ingrained in my regular routine, ensuring that everything remains in order. As for dog walking, I believe in establishing a strong connection with the dog before embarking on our journey together. Taking the time to understand their unique personality and needs is crucial to building trust. I am a patient individual with excellent communication skills, adept at delivering commands and offering praise effectively. While I thoroughly enjoy visiting dog parks and witnessing the joy of social interactions, I also understand the importance of recognizing when it's time to depart.
About: I’ve been a pet owner for nearly 30 years — from growing up with our family’s Border Collies and house cats, to raising my own Jack Russells throughout adulthood, to caring for two rescue kittens in college. I’m equally comfortable with dogs and cats of all personalities and needs. What sets me apart is the range of care I’ve provided. I’ve raised a Jack Russell puppy from the wild, zoomie-filled stage into a well-behaved, confident adult, so I’m patient, consistent, and great with puppies who need structure and gentle training. I’ve also cared for a 17-year-old senior dog during his end-of-life stage, which taught me how to support pets who need slower routines, medication, and close, intuitive attention. I fostered an entire litter of puppies and their mom from an overcrowded shelter, so I’m familiar with round-the-clock care, monitoring, and meeting shy or sensitive animals where they are. Between that and my own lifelong pet experience, I’ve worked with animals at every life stage and energy level. I’m single with plenty of free time, which means your pets get steady attention, affection, and a calm, reliable presence while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because of the flexibility I have in my career. I’m a real estate agent with a team beneath me, which means I create my own schedule and have other agents I can rely on if I’m ever occupied. That gives me plenty of space in my days for walks, check-ins, playtime, and consistent attention. I’ve actually considered getting another dog over the last couple of years, but I haven’t felt ready for the full-time commitment again. A friend suggested I join Rover as a way to support other pet owners in the community while still getting to pour my love, energy, and care into animals — and it’s the perfect fit. Your pets get someone who’s genuinely excited to spend time with them and has the availability to be fully present. I’m very affectionate and hands-on with the pets I care for — they get plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship. I genuinely love walking, so having a dog join me on my daily walks is the best part of my routine. Whether it’s a neighborhood stroll, a peaceful loop along the River Trail, or a fun outing to the Smelter dog park, I make sure pets get the activity and stimulation they need. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their routines closely so everything feels familiar and comforting. I’m attentive to feeding schedules, potty breaks, behavior changes, and whatever little rituals make each pet feel at ease. My goal is always to create a safe, loving, and engaging experience — whether they’re with me for a few hours or a few days.
“We dropped our fur baby off while we went to the Durango train for the day! The whole family was welcoming and we felt so comfortable leaving Kobe with them. Gave us several updates and I know our dog had fun playing with theirs! Thank you for an amazing first-timer Rover experience!”

“Becca was great! Will definitely be using her next time we are in town. Our dog was able to play with hers and relax outside throughout the day. He did not want to leave his new friend when we picked him up. Would 100% recommend!”

“We had never left our puppy at a Doggie Day Care and Gabby and Josh have set the bar very high for the next day care we use. Rocky had a great time and we felt so comfortable leaving him for the first time. They were excellent in communicating with us before, and during Rocky's stay. Their location was perfect for our day trip on the Durango/Silverton Train. We highly recommend them to anyone needing Doggie Day Care or even a dog walk.”

About: I am every pups favorite Auntie because I am patient, very loving, and well trained with different breeds, personalities and age ranges. I have experience working with rescue dogs as well as therapy dogs. I am a very active person and love an excuse to get outside and walk, hike, play as much as possible. I have a natural sense as to what the animals are feeling and capable of. I find the company of animals to be significant and always enjoyable. I will most definitely love and take care of your dog with undivided attention as if it is my own. If there's anything you practice at home with your pet, I will certainly help to enforce any rules, training, habits, you wish to maintain.

Durango dog parents share their Rover experiences
We had an amazing experience with Nastasiya and Kyle! They took excellent care of Toby, and treated him like their own! They even took him on a hike and dog park! Very communicative and friendly! If we are visiting in Durango again we will definitely go to them again!

Upon bringing Sadie to Camryn's home, she greeted Sadie right away and made Sadie feel she was in a safe place. Sadie's first time staying with someone she didn't know went well. I checked in midway through her stay Camryn let me know Sadie was doing good. As I picked Sadie up from her stay she was comfortable and happy to see me. I was pleased to see Sadie and Camryn enjoy each other's company. Would recommend Camryn to anyone looking for a dog sitter.

Pete had such a lovely time with Emily and Pepper! We were in Durango for the weekend and Emily watched Pete while we went horseback riding back riding. She sent pictures and videos— it was obvious he was having a great day! Now we’re back at our VRBO and he’s sound asleep :-)

Deb was amazing! Very communicative before we arrived and I know she and Cooper had a blast while we were visiting Durango. I would recommend her without hesitation for anyone visiting Durango and wanting to go to a national park, but can’t bring their dog. She will take great care of them, wear them out and become their new best friend.
