About: *currently located in Durango, CO* Hi! We’re Britt & James, and we’d love to care for your pets while you’re away. We’re animal lovers with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, personalities, and energy levels. Together, we’ve spent years pet sitting through Rover and caring for friends’ and family’s pets, as well as pets of our own. Our biggest teacher has been our own rescue pup, Jessie. Since adopting her, we’ve learned firsthand how important patience, consistency, and understanding each dog’s individual personality can be. Watching her grow into a confident, adventurous companion has only strengthened our love for caring for animals. We recently relocated to Durango for the Summer/Fall and are excited to meet fellow pet lovers in the community! While we’re not offering boarding in our home, we’re currently available for: • Dog walking • Drop-in visits • House sitting • Puppy care • Senior pet care • Medication administration (oral medications) Whether your dog wants a hike, a stroll through the neighborhood, a game of fetch, or just someone to keep them company while you’re away, we’re happy to tailor every visit to their routine and personality. We know that every pet is different, and we take the time to earn their trust and make them feel safe and comfortable. One of us works remotely, which means we’re often able to provide flexible scheduling. We pride ourselves on being dependable, communicative, and treating every home and pet with the same care we give our own. You’ll receive plenty of photo updates, thoughtful communication, and the peace of mind that your furry family member is in caring, capable hands. We can’t wait to meet you and your pets! Our schedule is very flexible, which allows us to accommodate a wide variety of pets’ routines. One of us works remotely, so we’re often available throughout the day for walks, potty breaks, meals, playtime, and companionship. For house sitting, we do our best to follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, exercise, and bedtime habits. We understand that consistency helps pets feel comfortable while you’re away. Whether your pet is an early riser, enjoys multiple walks a day, or simply loves having someone nearby for company, we’re happy to tailor our care to their individual needs. We’ll also send regular photo updates so you can relax knowing they’re happy and well cared for. When caring for pets, our goal is to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. We’ll follow your instructions closely—from feeding schedules and medications to favorite walking routes, playtime, and bedtime routines. We know every pet is different, and we take the time to learn what makes them feel safe, comfortable, and happy. Our rescue dog, Jessie, absolutely loves making new dog friends and is very social! If you’re interested, we’re happy to bring her along for walks or playdates to provide your pup with some extra companionship. That said, we completely respect that not every dog enjoys other dogs or may simply prefer their own space. We’ll always follow your preferences and your pet’s comfort level, and Jessie will only join us if it’s something you specifically want. Above all, we treat every pet as if they were our own and every home with the utmost care and respect.

About: Dog bio - I've been caring for animals of all kinds my whole life. Growing up my family had many different pets ranging from dogs, to cats, to rodents. I've learned to many unique aspects of caring for different creatures of different species and temperaments and I love them all the same. I treat animals with respect and patience and have often heard that aggressive or nervous animals take a liking to me when they normally don't like strangers. As of right now I am the proud dog mom of a beautiful Siberian husky mix with an autoimmune disorder called lupus. She is my first medically fragile dog and I have been managing her medication and symptoms for about 2 years now. She has made amazing progress with her condition under my care and made me more confident that I could care for animals with any types of health condition. I also have experience with senior dogs and puppies as well as cats! I don't currently have a job and I am taking a break from college so I have plenty of free time for your babies! I'm available for pet sitting at your home during weekdays, and I can walk your dog any time, distance, or day of the week. I cannot do overnight boarding for most animals at my home, as I have a dog and cat that both don't get along with other animals of their species. For pet sitting all I need is the expectations for your home and your dogs care. List any health conditions, diet specialties, behavioral issues, or just quirks your animal has that may be worth mentioning

About: I have a senior pup back home, we rescued her years ago and now she’s living her best life all spoiled with seasonal bananas. I have another 4 year german shepherd who’s high functioning and interactive, I love taking him to the dog park and out for pup-cups. I have lots of free time between classes to check on/walk your puppies! If your pups need more supervision I’d be happy to stay at the house between classes to keep your pets company. Your pet would always be in my sight when we’re outside, and I’d follow your instructions for them inside. I clean up after myself and I pack my own snacks.

About: My daughters says I’m a dog whisperer: I’ve had and cared for dogs since I was 8 years old. I take my own dog with me most everywhere I go. I am able to work remotely with a proper internet connection so I will be with your sweet pup all day long! Plenty of potty breaks. I am happy to walk your dog daily, it’s good for both of us. I am happy to have them loose with me rather than crated.

About: I’ve had pets my whole life, so becoming a dog and cat sitter was a given. From senior snoozers to zoomy puppies, from ‘don’t touch me’ cats to ‘please love me immediately’ cats, I’ve handled it all and loved every second. I’m currently in school at Fort Lewis. I have a few classes scattered throughout the day. My busiest day right now will be Tuesdays with back to back classes from 8-2:30. If watching pets in your home, I will ask for a list of expectations (feed times, concerns) so I can do the best job. I will be diligent about updating you, sending photos, and asking questions if they arise.

About: I've taken care of a multitude of pets since a small boy, but i have over 16 years experience training military, police and pet dogs. I work full time job during the day, but I am available for in home pet care and training (extra fee) if requested, throughout the week. I have a lifetime of care experience for dogs, but i am trained in basic dog care and can treat and identify minor issues and respond accordingly.

About: Sunshine Country Retreat Moto: A happy dog is an exercised dog. At Sunshine Country Retreat we value facilitating a great time for your furry friends while you are out living your best life too. We love getting outside and enjoying Durango paw style. I first started hosting pups through Rover when I lived in Tahoe City, Ca— and am really happy I am able to do the same here in Durango, Co. Im a field biologist that opens up my availability when I’m off and have nothing but time for your furry family member. Don’t hesitate to reach out if my availability isn’t open— I’ve accepted several requests when my calendar has said I was unavailable. We live on 1.3 acres and our house backs up to the national forest. I’ll take your pup to a local trail for a walk/hike as weather permits. Our whole property is fenced in with an 7.5’ tall fence! That’s over an acre for running around and playing! To ensure safety and plenty of attention, I only host dogs from one family at a time. About: A little about me, I work from home, so I’m around all day to give your pets extra attention. I also love to be outside, so you can expect your pups to get plenty of walks when with me! I have experience watching dogs with a large range of personalities: anxious dogs, older dogs, reactive dogs, and a lot in between. I also understand how important it is to keep your pet on their typical routine so that’s a main goal of mine when you’re out of town. About: I went to school originally for animal science and veterinary technology. I worked in veterinary ERs, general practice, shelters for 6 years out of school. While I have hung up my hat as a vet tech officially in 2009 after I found a passion for a career in nonprofit and outdoor education, I still maintained several dog/cat sitting clients in Telluride where I lived over the course of fifteen years on the side of my full time program director position for a busy summer camp. Now in my 40s I work from home or remotely, for the last six years, as a nonprofit consultant. I have one lab named Zappa who keeps me on my toes the way only labs know how. (I can always bring him with me to your home or let him stay at home.) My lifestyle is active and I stay flexible so I can work remotely for travel opportunities (or to stay with your fur babies in your home!). I love running, hiking, surfing, rafting and riding bikes. Senior pets, meds and special instructions are no problem for me with my certified vet tech background. I look forward to meeting you and your loved ones! I split my time between Mancos/Durango/Telluride so can stay wherever you are or your pet can stay with me, or I can do drop ins. Sometimes I have to drive up to Telluride for client meetings but would know ahead of time and plan your pet sitting around that or just not schedule anything during that time. My house is very clean, uncluttered and comfortable. I have an unfenced yard on 4 acres but would follow your lead on this one. My dog uses a halo collar for his fence boundary at my house. I’ve cared for dogs who need leash walks only too.

About: Does your dog need a vacation from their everyday life while you’re on vacation? I’m Tarah. I have a 9 year old boxer mix Mack and 4 year old Tabby cat Juniper. We live an active lifestyle while having a full time job. Your dog will enjoy all the finer things in dog life such as Running, skiing, hiking in the mountains, swimming and paddle boarding . Your pup will get to enjoy the great outdoors and after spoiled with lots of treats and fluffy blanket snuggles. I currently work 8 hour shifts at the hospital. I come home during lunch to let my dog out to walk. She also gets to run, ski , or hike before or after work or both. I live in a cottage have a fenced in yard. Pets have access to the yard all day. There’s plenty of dog and cat toys to play with!

About: I grew up with two cats, two dogs, a lizard, and a bunny. I love animals and understand they need care just like we humans do. I have spent time fostering puppies and would love to foster kittens on day. I have a big heart and am interested meeting animals, and making sure people know their animals are in good hands. I just finished a trail work season and have a lot of time on my hands. I would love to help people out and watch their animals! I will be substitute teaching this school year with availability to walk dogs during the day and after school! My landlord does not allow pets in the home. I would love to care for your pets in your home, whether that’s stopping in several times a day or staying over night for however long! I am very clean, respectful, and trustworthy. I grew up pet sitting in Chicago and would also water people’s gardens, grocery shop for them before they got back from vacation, and tidy up their home upon request!

About: I have always had at least 1 dog in my home and cared for many of my neighbor’s/friend’s/family member’s pets. In the course of that care I have administered medication, raised puppies, taken care of up to 5 dogs at one time, cared for elderly pets, helped pets with disabilities, and overall taken care of all the extra work that comes with being a pet caregiver. I have yet to meet a pet that I didn’t love. I have been my children’s stay-at-home parent for the last 9 years, so I have a great deal of experience as a caretaker in general and I have raised them to always be kind and respectful to all animals. I am available for walks or drop-ins: Sunday-Wednesday before 2pm, Thursday & Friday all day, and Saturday after 3pm. I can also swing by after work at about 11:30p if needed and close to town. I have a fenced yard with 2 friendly dogs and 2 kids(8&9 years old who will not come in contact without your expressed permission and would never be left alone with them), I will care for your pets and house as attentively and lovingly as I care for my own home and pets. I am a home owner with two kids in a local school, so I am deeply rooted in Durango. I care deeply for pets and prefer their company over the company of most people. I am working on getting certified in pet first aid, but I currently have an app that can be used as a quick guide with videos in an emergency that was put out by the Red Cross.

About: I've taken care of dogs, cats, horses, and many other farm animals for more than 10 years. Friends, family members, and neighbors have counted on me to provide exceptional care and attention to their beloved pets! I’m in an online grad school program and have free time in Durango a few days a week and weekends. I can provide care to your pets for early mornings, throughout the day, and into the evening. I have a well-behaved, very friendly 11 month old puppy who I love very much! In any house sitting bookings, she will come with me.
