“Angela is a delight to work with - she made a great connection with my young dog and her communication was excellent. Her "report card" from the walk was comprehensive - and fun! Would hire again in a heartbeat - it's no wonder she has so many loyal clients - thanks Angela!”

About: I’ve taken care of a variety of animals in my life, including cats and dogs. Because of my experience, I’m familiar with the many different scenarios that can come up during pet care. I’m currently unemployed and providing full time services. This means I can work around you or your pets schedule and house/pet sit for hours or days at a time if needed. Frequent potty breaks and walks are also no problem for me. I’m very attentive to animal needs and can recognize different types of body language very quickly. These includes signs of aggression, anxiety, hunger, needing to go out, etc. and I can respond appropriately and in a timely manner.
About: I owned a pitbull growing up until I was 18 years old. I absolutely love dogs but simply can’t have one in my housing situation. Caring for your dog would be an absolute pleasure! I’m available to help with pets as many times a day as needed during all hours of the day. I will care for your pets like I care for my own. My pets are my whole life. I feed my elder cat a special diet and administer medications daily. In my own home I use specialty feeders that connect to each of their collars. When dog sitting I make sure they’re taken out as many times as needed to get exercise and go to the restroom!
“Thanks Sara! Dogs were relaxed when we got home. Thanks for coming out the day before and meeting us and the dogs. Greatly appreciate. It’s so hard when we are traveling to find someone when we are out for a long day!”

About: I’ve taken care of my own as well as close relative’s pets (cats, dogs, horses, chickens) numerous times. My friend owns 5 cats and each one enjoys my company. I work mornings at my primary job, but after 1 pm, I’m free to begin any services. Two days during the week, I can provide services in the morning as well! I would really like to add a fur buddy or two to my outside time! I’m pretty good with following steps and routines. My friends and family relatives trust me entering their homes and caring for their pets, I’m hoping to be given opportunities to get to know your pets!
“Matthew was so fantastic! We were in town and needed our dogs walked while we explored. He agreed to three walks throughout the day and took them on extensive walks. Our dogs were happy and exhausted - a great combo for our dogs 😀 very grateful for his willingness, communication, and care of our pups!”

About: I’ve had animals my whole life. I have always loved animals and my freinds, neighbors, and family always ask me to care for their furry loved ones! I’m currently working only a couple shifts a month at my other job, so I can be reliable and flexible with many different schedules to fit your needs! In my clients home I will be sure the pets have the food/water their owners desire, and I would love to play and run the energy out of your pets during the day while your at work!
About: Hi! My name is Jake. I grew up in a house full of pets and have taken care of them for as long as I can remember. I work full time at Fort Lewis, so I am completely available after 4 pm Monday through Friday with an hour during the day for walk breaks. During the weekend I can be fully available. I am available for any type of house sitting! Whether it be a quick midday walk or week-long stay, I am there to keep your pets comfortable in their home environment, on their schedule.
About: I have experience taking care of several types of dogs, cats and even a bird in the last 5 years. Every week, my work does a “Buddy Day” with the humane society where we have an adoptable dog come hangout with us for the day and then I bring them back at the end of the day. This has exposed me to so many different types and personalities of dogs! I’m also comfortable giving medication and taking care of pets that may be under the weather. I’m currently working full time during Tuesday-Saturday (7:30am-3pm) but am able to leave for lunch to check on or let your pet outside to potty or walk. I work and live in downtown Durango. I’m available daily in the evenings. The safety and well-being of your pet is my #1 priority. Making sure gates and locks are secure, proper leashes/harnesses are being used, following all the care instructions exactly and sending regular updates (if you’d like) to keep communication open are a few things I’ve found keep your pet safe and happy. In general, I just want to create an environment that your pet will thrive in.
About: Household pets have been a part of my life since childhood, and I have cared for pets of my own, primarily cats and dogs, throughout my adult life as well. My partner and I have two dogs of our own that we adopted from the LPC Humane Society and they are our fur babies. I know from personal experience what it's like to need assurance that your pet is being well cared for and in good hands, and I'm happy to give you that same peace of mind. I currently work from home full time and have a fairly flexible schedule that I can adapt on a weekly basis depending on what's on my calendar. I typically am most easily available morning, mid-day, and evenings for drop-ins or walks. I have two dogs of my own currently and I have been a pet owner for most of my adult life, primarily caring for cats and dogs. I'm plenty familiar with the routines of pet care and understand that your pets will have their own unique care needs and personality quirks. I'm happy to take your pup on a walk and I'm familiar with many of the good trails in town.
About: I have adored all animlas my whole life and have always enjoyed taking care of them. I have started dog walking with a senior dog when I was 13 and I am hoping to get back into it! I have also taken care of other furry friends for my loved ones and friends throughout the years. I'm currently a part-time student with a part time job, so I will have plenty of time to hang out with your furry family members! I have open avaliability Thursday-Sunday with evening avaliability Monday-Wednesday. I also make sure to respect yours and your pets space when entering the home! I have two friendly cats at my own home as well.
About: I grew up with two cats, two dogs, a lizard, and a bunny. I love animals and understand they need care just like we humans do. I have spent time fostering puppies and would love to foster kittens on day. I have a big heart and am interested meeting animals, and making sure people know their animals are in good hands. I just finished a trail work season and have a lot of time on my hands. I would love to help people out and watch their animals! I will be substitute teaching this school year with availability to walk dogs during the day and after school! My landlord does not allow pets in the home. I would love to care for your pets in your home, whether that’s stopping in several times a day or staying over night for however long! I am very clean, respectful, and trustworthy. I grew up pet sitting in Chicago and would also water people’s gardens, grocery shop for them before they got back from vacation, and tidy up their home upon request!
About: Dogs are an infinite source of unconditional love - I treat them with the kindness and respect they deserve. Rest assured your animals will be my top priority. I've currently got an open schedule, so feel free to reach out in a pinch and be confident your animals will be my top priority. A home becomes your personal castle - I'll take care to treat it as if it were my own. This applies to your pets as well!

About: I have always had at least 1 dog in my home and cared for many of my neighbor’s/friend’s/family member’s pets. In the course of that care I have administered medication, raised puppies, taken care of up to 5 dogs at one time, cared for elderly pets, helped pets with disabilities, and overall taken care of all the extra work that comes with being a pet caregiver. I have yet to meet a pet that I didn’t love. I have been my children’s stay-at-home parent for the last 9 years, so I have a great deal of experience as a caretaker in general and I have raised them to always be kind and respectful to all animals. I am available for walks or drop-ins: Sunday-Wednesday before 2pm, Thursday & Friday all day, and Saturday after 3pm. I can also swing by after work at about 11:30p if needed and close to town. I have a fenced yard with 2 friendly dogs and 2 kids(8&9 years old who will not come in contact without your expressed permission and would never be left alone with them), I will care for your pets and house as attentively and lovingly as I care for my own home and pets. I am a home owner with two kids in a local school, so I am deeply rooted in Durango. I care deeply for pets and prefer their company over the company of most people. I am working on getting certified in pet first aid, but I currently have an app that can be used as a quick guide with videos in an emergency that was put out by the Red Cross.

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and currently have two of my own—a 5-year-old black lab and a 4-year-old German shepherd—so I’m very used to daily care like feeding, walks, and playtime. While I don’t have formal sitting experience, I’m comfortable with different dog personalities and routines. I love being outdoors, so your dog will get plenty of walks and attention. I also work shorter hours, which gives me a flexible schedule and more time to focus on your pet. I’m patient, reliable, and treat every dog like my own. Pet care fits easily into my routine since I already care for my own two dogs every day. I work shorter hours (about 32 hours a week), so I have a good amount of flexibility. I’m available Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, and can plan my day around walks, visits, and spending quality time with your pet. I care for pets by sticking as close as possible to their normal routine so they feel comfortable and stress-free. That includes feeding on schedule, regular walks, playtime, and making sure they get plenty of attention. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space and follow any specific instructions they leave, whether that’s routines, medications, or preferences. I also make sure pets get lots of love and updates while you’re away. At home, I provide a safe, calm environment with plenty of supervision, exercise, and time outside. Since I already have two dogs, I’m used to managing multiple pets and making sure everyone is comfortable and getting along.
About: Hello fellow dog lovers! With over 20 years of experience owning and caring for dogs, I understand the deep bond between humans and their furry companions. I work from home, which allows me the flexibility to provide care both during and outside of regular business hours. Whether it’s a midday walk, evening playtime or weekend adventure, I’m here to ensure your dog receives the attention, love and exercise they deserve. If you book me for pet sitting in your home, you can feel at ease knowing that I will respect your space and make it a goal of mine to leave your space as clean as you left it. Let’s connect and discuss how I can offer your dog the right care and attention to make you feel comfortable when you can’t be with them. I look forward to meeting you and your pups! I work from home and have a fairly flexible schedule! I can provide pet services within or outside of regular business hours- let’s discuss your pets needs and I can likely fit them in to my schedule, no problem! I love clients who offer detailed lists of their pets needs and daily routines! I used to do the same with my dog and know that following something like this gives everyone involved (dogs included!) ease of mind.

Angela was great, she was communicative in advance, flexible with our needs, on time for every walk (early actually!), and was very comfortable with our dogs and the process of picking them up and taking them out. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
