Safety, trust & environment
I love spending time hanging out with the pets I sit and can adjust my care to their individual personalities. I am also comfortable administering all types of medications (I can give subcutaneous fluids, oral medication, eye drops, injections, etc. as I've given them to my own pets as well as my clients pets throughout the years!).
Information Deidra N. would like to know about your pet
Is your pet friendly and do they warm up to new people quickly? Or do they need a little time and space to be comfortable? How do they behave on walks (do they pull on the leash, are they friendly towards other dogs, do they attempt to chase cats/other animals?). Does your cat like attention or prefer to be left alone?
A typical day
It really depends on the pet and their energy level. I'm happy to take them for a quick walk, or play fetch in the backyard. I'm also okay with petting and cuddling if they prefer, and respect cats that like to have their own space. I also really enjoy taking as many pictures of pets as possible during my visits.

Pet care experience
My dog Lily and I just moved to Durango from Phoenix, and are excited to explore the new area! I grew up with dogs and cats, and have had at least one dog and one cat my whole adult life. Lily is my 12 year old beagle I adopted 7 years ago from Kindness Ranch in Wyoming. She was formerly used in animal testing, and has had to overcome challenges related to PTSD from her first 5 years of life. Lily is my 3rd rescue beagle, so I have years of experience with special needs/shy dogs. I also have experience with all kinds of medication administration, as my pets have needed just about everything throughout the years. In the past I have also fostered and transported shelter puppies and rescue dogs. I work full time every other week (7 on 7 off), but during my weeks off enjoy spending time with dogs and cats as much as possible.
Reviews

Was super nervous to leave my girls, but that was quickly quelled by the lack of Alexa notifications from my dogs barking during Deidra’s visit. One of my dogs has anxiety and Deidra was able to get her to follow her feeding and outside routine flawlessly. She was such a relief to us with a tight week and will definitely be working with her again.

My cat usually is not alone with my job being remote. I went on a vacation and it worked great. Knox was unsure but when I got home he was happy and in good shape. Thank you!
Diedra did a great job taking care of Charley, our energetic Brittany. She went the extra mile to do a meet and greet before the planned Rover walk. Thanks for helping us out on a very busy day of our vacation.

Deidra was awesome with our dogs. We were a little nervous since we are from out of town. She even came the day before to meet the pups. Highly recommend!
