About: Since childhood, I’ve always felt most at home among nonhuman animals, and I’ll never understand humans who treat animals as less deserving of love, respect, and care. My animals are my family, and I promise to care for your animals as if they were my own. I have experience with cats and dogs of all temperaments. One of my dogs has a history of reactivity and aggression towards other dogs. I feel very comfortable managing this type of behavior using treats, ecollar, muzzle, prevention techniques, and communication with other dog-owners. I’m also experienced managing groups of dogs off leash and will work with your dog to reinforce good recall and safety behaviors (such as stopping at intersections, waiting before they go out of sight, sitting for cars, passing other dogs, etc.). I am a writer who works from home. I am available for daycare, afternoon walks & drop-ins, and select boarding for dogs who get along well with my two dogs and are good with cats. If your dog is trained off-leash, has solid recall, and is either good with other dogs or muzzle trained, I offer pack hikes and walks. I have a large fenced yard with a dog door that goes into the main living areas. My two dogs & 4 cats are onsite. Your dog must be good with cats and other dogs or be muzzle-trained to attend daycare or boarding at my home. Your dogs will get a walk or adventure during daycare (unless you prefer them not to, in which case they must be able to stay home alone for 1-2 hours either kenneled or loose without becoming destructive). To attend off-leash pack walks/hikes, your dogs must demonstrate reliable recall even when triggers are present (such as an other dogs, wildlife, cats, cars, etc.). Your dog must also have no history of aggression towards other dogs or people OR be muzzle-trained.

About: I’ve been a pet owner for nearly 30 years — from growing up with our family’s Border Collies and house cats, to raising my own Jack Russells throughout adulthood, to caring for two rescue kittens in college. I’m equally comfortable with dogs and cats of all personalities and needs. What sets me apart is the range of care I’ve provided. I’ve raised a Jack Russell puppy from the wild, zoomie-filled stage into a well-behaved, confident adult, so I’m patient, consistent, and great with puppies who need structure and gentle training. I’ve also cared for a 17-year-old senior dog during his end-of-life stage, which taught me how to support pets who need slower routines, medication, and close, intuitive attention. I fostered an entire litter of puppies and their mom from an overcrowded shelter, so I’m familiar with round-the-clock care, monitoring, and meeting shy or sensitive animals where they are. Between that and my own lifelong pet experience, I’ve worked with animals at every life stage and energy level. I’m single with plenty of free time, which means your pets get steady attention, affection, and a calm, reliable presence while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because of the flexibility I have in my career. I’m a real estate agent with a team beneath me, which means I create my own schedule and have other agents I can rely on if I’m ever occupied. That gives me plenty of space in my days for walks, check-ins, playtime, and consistent attention. I’ve actually considered getting another dog over the last couple of years, but I haven’t felt ready for the full-time commitment again. A friend suggested I join Rover as a way to support other pet owners in the community while still getting to pour my love, energy, and care into animals — and it’s the perfect fit. Your pets get someone who’s genuinely excited to spend time with them and has the availability to be fully present. I’m very affectionate and hands-on with the pets I care for — they get plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship. I genuinely love walking, so having a dog join me on my daily walks is the best part of my routine. Whether it’s a neighborhood stroll, a peaceful loop along the River Trail, or a fun outing to the Smelter dog park, I make sure pets get the activity and stimulation they need. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their routines closely so everything feels familiar and comforting. I’m attentive to feeding schedules, potty breaks, behavior changes, and whatever little rituals make each pet feel at ease. My goal is always to create a safe, loving, and engaging experience — whether they’re with me for a few hours or a few days.

About: As an avid outdoor enthusiast and dog lover you can be sure your dog is getting the attention and exercise they need! I try to take the dogs out 2 times a day for walks and every couple of hours for potty breaks. I do have a wonderful pup-o of my own, Luna so your doggo has some company. Is your dog more of a runner? If so I’ll pop on my mountain bike and let them do some trail running... more of a lazy doggo? How about some ice cream? Just kidding... no ice cream! About: I have been working with animals since I was a child! I grew up on a farm with horses and our trusty yellow Labradors, learning from an early age the true meaning of taking care of others. I love providing dogs the happiest experience - I find such joy when playing, running, skiing, or hiking with dogs and seeing the BIG smile on their faces! Any pups that stay with me, my husband, and our goofy dog, Miles, will have a fantastic time, as well as guaranteed adventure (as appropriate!). When your pup stays with us, he/she will never be left alone and will be treated as one of our own. Having fur-babies of our own, I understand the importance of knowing that your pup is well taken care of according to his/her needs. We hope to see you soon! I work full-time from home with a flexible schedule. Considering this, your pup will never be left alone and enjoy our company (and snuggles) 24/7. I have a flexible schedule and will update my calendar weekly as needed regarding my availability. Our home is located in Rafter J on three acres, ~10 minutes from downtown Durango. We have one dog named Miles, a seven-year-old Weimaraner who has a goober personality and LOVES to play with other dogs.

Jackson is very easy to communicate with; he responds to inquiries and follow-up questons exceptionally promptly; he is accommodating and punctual; and he clearly loves dogs. Jackson followed my instructions for Raylan and sent pictures to me during Raylan's stay with him. I was extremely comfortably with Jackson, and Raylan took to him immediately. In fact, on the second day Raylan immediately pulled to Jackson's door, when he got out of the car. Clearly, Raylan was happy to go back to Jackson. We will definitely use Jackson again for daycare as the need arises.”
