“Our pups had a wonderful day with Lori! She has a big back yard outside Bayfield with some gentle huskies and our german shepherd was in heaven playing all day. We picked them up late after dinner in Durango and they were wiped out! We will definitely visit again. Thanks Lori!!”

“Aspen did an amazing job of caring for my pup while i was playing in Durango. She kept me up to date on how she was doing, and played her favorite thing…the garden hose. Thanks, Aspen!”

About: Since childhood, I’ve always felt most at home among nonhuman animals, and I’ll never understand humans who treat animals as less deserving of love, respect, and care. My animals are my family, and I promise to care for your animals as if they were my own. I have experience with cats and dogs of all temperaments. One of my dogs has a history of reactivity and aggression towards other dogs. I feel very comfortable managing this type of behavior using treats, ecollar, muzzle, prevention techniques, and communication with other dog-owners. I’m also experienced managing groups of dogs off leash and will work with your dog to reinforce good recall and safety behaviors (such as stopping at intersections, waiting before they go out of sight, sitting for cars, passing other dogs, etc.). I am a writer who works from home. I am available for daycare, afternoon walks & drop-ins, and select boarding for dogs who get along well with my two dogs and are good with cats. If your dog is trained off-leash, has solid recall, and is either good with other dogs or muzzle trained, I offer pack hikes and walks. I have a large fenced yard with a dog door that goes into the main living areas. My two dogs & 4 cats are onsite. Your dog must be good with cats and other dogs or be muzzle-trained to attend daycare or boarding at my home. Your dogs will get a walk or adventure during daycare (unless you prefer them not to, in which case they must be able to stay home alone for 1-2 hours either kenneled or loose without becoming destructive). To attend off-leash pack walks/hikes, your dogs must demonstrate reliable recall even when triggers are present (such as an other dogs, wildlife, cats, cars, etc.). Your dog must also have no history of aggression towards other dogs or people OR be muzzle-trained.
“Virginia is amazing, her property is wonderful and set up great for the dogs. Archer and Paisley got the chance to play in the rainy snow but she also let them warm up and nap in the heated garage. They both enjoyed their stay and we enjoyed not being worried about them while we were gone. Virginia is GREAT at communicating and we will be using her services again on future trips to Durango! 13/10 all the gold stars!!”

“My 2 dogs took to Carole the minute we stepped in the door. I felt very comfortable leaving my dogs with her for the day. They were very well cared for. Communication was very good while scheduling the visit and the day of services. I highly recommend Carole!”

“We were so happy to have found Jenny. My dog Freya and her pup Luna had a blast playing, napping and hanging out at Jenny's place. Jenny was responsive, communicative, and accommodating. Freya can't wait for her next doggie daycare or overnight! We highly recommend Jenny (and Luna) :-)”

“Allena took great care of my poodles while they stayed at her place for 8 hours. They came home happy and relaxed. She even made a treat to-go bag with Mila and Prince’s picture on it—highly recommend!”

Heather is available for dog care Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Heather provides dog care (walking and drop-in visits) Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Billie works from home and has super flexible scheduling for cat drop-ins. Happy to do once or twice a day visits for your cat, depending on what you need! We always read the instructions first! We’ll follow your schedule and directions to the letter as we feed and water your pets, play with them, and clean up after them, and we’ll pay attention to how they're feeling too--whether that's social or shy, excited or sleepy.
“Becca was great! Will definitely be using her next time we are in town. Our dog was able to play with hers and relax outside throughout the day. He did not want to leave his new friend when we picked him up. Would 100% recommend!”

“Kerrin was great and I highly recommend her. She was very flexible and responsive to Archie's needs and sent me pictures. Archie can be barky at a new place at first and Kerrin was very understanding. I could tell Archie had a great time as he just slept when we got home. Thanks, Kerrin”

“We were so fortunate to find Jackson. My husband and I were interested in doing a tour that our 4 month old puppy could not go on. Jackson picked the puppy up at the RV park where we were staying that morning. We were able to enjoy our day and the puppy we picked up was worn out so Jackson spend time with him. He sent pics thru the day and they visited a park. A very good first experience with Rover thanks to Jackson.”

“Bonita saved the day and night! So glad we found her to watch Scout our 7 1/2 month old Golden Retriever. We felt 100% confident leaving Scout with Bonita. She sent us pictures through his stay which was great. If we are ever in Pagosa Springs again we will definitely be giving Bonita a call. You should too! ?”

About: I have been working with animals since I was a child! I grew up on a farm with horses and our trusty yellow Labradors, learning from an early age the true meaning of taking care of others. I love providing dogs the happiest experience - I find such joy when playing, running, skiing, or hiking with dogs and seeing the BIG smile on their faces! Any pups that stay with me, my husband, and our goofy dog, Miles, will have a fantastic time, as well as guaranteed adventure (as appropriate!). When your pup stays with us, he/she will never be left alone and will be treated as one of our own. Having fur-babies of our own, I understand the importance of knowing that your pup is well taken care of according to his/her needs. We hope to see you soon! I work full-time from home with a flexible schedule. Considering this, your pup will never be left alone and enjoy our company (and snuggles) 24/7. I have a flexible schedule and will update my calendar weekly as needed regarding my availability. Our home is located in Rafter J on three acres, ~10 minutes from downtown Durango. We have one dog named Miles, a seven-year-old Weimaraner who has a goober personality and LOVES to play with other dogs.
“Skye was so accommodating to our needs. She genuinely cares about the comfort and safety of her charges. I'm very thankful for her help with our 2 year old vizsla. I highly recommend her!”

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CO ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
