About: Since childhood, I’ve always felt most at home among nonhuman animals, and I’ll never understand humans who treat animals as less deserving of love, respect, and care. I’m also experienced managing groups of dogs off leash and will work with your dog to reinforce good recall and safety behaviors (such as stopping at intersections, waiting before they go out of sight, sitting for cars, passing other dogs, etc.). I am a writer who works from home. I am available for daycare, afternoon walks & drop-ins, and select boarding for dogs who get along well with my two dogs and are good with cats. I have a large fenced yard with a dog door that goes into the main living areas. My two dogs & 4 cats are onsite. Your dog must be good with cats and other dogs or be muzzle-trained to attend daycare or boarding at my home. Your dogs will get a walk or adventure during daycare (unless you prefer them not to, in which case they must be able to stay home alone for 1-2 hours either kenneled or loose without becoming destructive). To attend off-leash pack walks/hikes, your dogs must demonstrate reliable recall even when triggers are present (such as an other dogs, wildlife, cats, cars, etc.). Your dog must also have no history of aggression towards other dogs or people OR be muzzle-trained.
“Darek was fantastic with my pup! She was a happy girl when I picked her up. On top of that, my trip ended up getting extended two extra days and Darek was so helpful and communicative during the whole process, it took a huge weight off of my shoulders as a pet parent! Definitely recommend him as a sitter and will be using him again!!”

“Fred came home so happy! Him and Jackson had a fantastic time hiking, snuggling, and hanging. Jackson was great to send us pictures and updates. He was also very accommodating with pick up and drop off times. We are grateful that Fred has a new trusted pal.”

“Sarah boarded my cat for two weeks. She was so good with my typically skittish and stranger-shy cat. My cat was very relaxed when I picked her up. Sarah sent pictures and updates throughout her stay and was so easy to communicate and coordinate with.”

“Tom did a great job taking care of our pup Moog. He regularly sent updates and efficiently communicated with us. We would highly recommend Tom to watch your pet and we will use him again!”

Is your dog more of a runner? If so I’ll pop on my mountain bike and let them do some trail running... more of a lazy doggo? How about some ice cream? Just kidding... no ice cream! “Aspen did an amazing job of caring for my pup while i was playing in Durango. She kept me up to date on how she was doing, and played her favorite thing…the garden hose. Thanks, Aspen!”

“We were so happy to have found Jenny. My dog Freya and her pup Luna had a blast playing, napping and hanging out at Jenny's place. Jenny was responsive, communicative, and accommodating. Freya can't wait for her next doggie daycare or overnight! We highly recommend Jenny (and Luna) :-)”

“I left my puppy with Virginia for doggy daycare and was very pleased! Virginia was very accommodating when I had something unexpected come up and was late picking up my dog. I appreciate her understanding and will absolutely use her again!”

About: I’ve been a pet owner for nearly 30 years — from growing up with our family’s Border Collies and house cats, to raising my own Jack Russells throughout adulthood, to caring for two rescue kittens in college. I’m equally comfortable with dogs and cats of all personalities and needs. What sets me apart is the range of care I’ve provided. I’ve raised a Jack Russell puppy from the wild, zoomie-filled stage into a well-behaved, confident adult, so I’m patient, consistent, and great with puppies who need structure and gentle training. I’ve also cared for a 17-year-old senior dog during his end-of-life stage, which taught me how to support pets who need slower routines, medication, and close, intuitive attention. I fostered an entire litter of puppies and their mom from an overcrowded shelter, so I’m familiar with round-the-clock care, monitoring, and meeting shy or sensitive animals where they are. Between that and my own lifelong pet experience, I’ve worked with animals at every life stage and energy level. I’m single with plenty of free time, which means your pets get steady attention, affection, and a calm, reliable presence while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because of the flexibility I have in my career. I’m a real estate agent with a team beneath me, which means I create my own schedule and have other agents I can rely on if I’m ever occupied. That gives me plenty of space in my days for walks, check-ins, playtime, and consistent attention. I’ve actually considered getting another dog over the last couple of years, but I haven’t felt ready for the full-time commitment again. A friend suggested I join Rover as a way to support other pet owners in the community while still getting to pour my love, energy, and care into animals — and it’s the perfect fit. Your pets get someone who’s genuinely excited to spend time with them and has the availability to be fully present. I’m very affectionate and hands-on with the pets I care for — they get plenty of attention, playtime, and companionship. I genuinely love walking, so having a dog join me on my daily walks is the best part of my routine. Whether it’s a neighborhood stroll, a peaceful loop along the River Trail, or a fun outing to the Smelter dog park, I make sure pets get the activity and stimulation they need. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their routines closely so everything feels familiar and comforting. I’m attentive to feeding schedules, potty breaks, behavior changes, and whatever little rituals make each pet feel at ease. My goal is always to create a safe, loving, and engaging experience — whether they’re with me for a few hours or a few days.
“Kerrin was great and I highly recommend her. She was very flexible and responsive to Archie's needs and sent me pictures. Archie can be barky at a new place at first and Kerrin was very understanding. I could tell Archie had a great time as he just slept when we got home. Thanks, Kerrin”

“Allena took great care of my poodles while they stayed at her place for 8 hours. They came home happy and relaxed. She even made a treat to-go bag with Mila and Prince’s picture on it—highly recommend!”

About: I have been working with animals since I was a child! I grew up on a farm with horses and our trusty yellow Labradors, learning from an early age the true meaning of taking care of others. I love providing dogs the happiest experience - I find such joy when playing, running, skiing, or hiking with dogs and seeing the BIG smile on their faces! Any pups that stay with me, my husband, and our goofy dog, Miles, will have a fantastic time, as well as guaranteed adventure (as appropriate!). When your pup stays with us, he/she will never be left alone and will be treated as one of our own. Having fur-babies of our own, I understand the importance of knowing that your pup is well taken care of according to his/her needs. We hope to see you soon! I work full-time from home with a flexible schedule. Considering this, your pup will never be left alone and enjoy our company (and snuggles) 24/7. I have a flexible schedule and will update my calendar weekly as needed regarding my availability. Our home is located in Rafter J on three acres, ~10 minutes from downtown Durango. We have one dog named Miles, a seven-year-old Weimaraner who has a goober personality and LOVES to play with other dogs.

“We were so pleased with the care she showed our pup while we were in town visiting. She is kind and compassionate, easy to communicate with, and has a clean and safe environment for the dogs. We highly recommend her and will definitely contact her again the next time we’re in town.”

“Skye was great with my pup! She is responsible, very kind, communicative and flexible. She sent plenty of pupdates and I felt comfortable leaving Lilo with her. 100% recommend!”

About: Whether you’re hitting the trails, skiing at Wolf Creek, soaking in the hot springs, rafting the river, or heading out for a full day of exploring, you shouldn’t have to spend your adventure worrying about the pets waiting back at your cabin, Airbnb, or home. I offer reliable, attentive pet check-ins and boarding throughout the Pagosa Springs area. I’ll make sure your pets get the care, exercise, affection, and attention they need while you’re away — including feeding, fresh water, potty breaks, walks, playtime, medications as needed, and plenty of belly rubs. What sets me apart is that I’m a registered flight nurse and Army officer, so being dependable, responsible, and calm under pressure is quite literally part of who I am. I’m comfortable following detailed instructions, administering medications, and caring for pets who may need a little extra attention. And most importantly, I genuinely love animals and will treat yours like I’d want someone to treat my own. Perfect for Pagosa Springs locals AND visitors who need someone trustworthy to pop in while they hike, ski, soak, explore or simply enjoy a long day out. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to easily incorporate pet care and drop-in visits into my week. I’m happy to work around each pet’s established routine rather than expecting them to adjust to mine. Whether that means an early-morning potty break, midday walk, dinner-time visit, medication on a specific schedule, or some extra playtime and companionship, I’ll do my best to keep things familiar and consistent. I especially enjoy helping Pagosa Springs locals and visitors who want to spend a full day hiking, skiing, soaking, or exploring without worrying about their pets back at home. I’m dependable, organized, and comfortable planning my day around the animals in my care — because when you trust me with your pet, they become a priority in my schedule. In my home, I provide a safe, welcoming environment with plenty of attention, exercise, and care. I have a fenced yard where pets can safely enjoy outdoor time, and my very friendly dog loves making new friends and playing throughout the day. In clients’ homes, I can provide drop-in visits, walks, feeding, fresh water, medication, litter box care, playtime, and companionship while respecting their space and their pet’s normal routine.

“I was visiting Pagosa Springs and was in desperate need of last minute dog walking, as I was heading to Durango for the day with family. It’s apparent that Cat really loves animals and I appreciated the photos she sent letting my know my pups were in great hands. When the narrow gauge train we were riding broke down in Silverton leaving us stranded for a few hours, Cat swung by again for a second walk after she got off work . Talk about dedication! I highly recommend Cat for any of your pet walking, sitting needs and will gladly use her service again the next time visiting Pagosa Springs.”

“Mariah took my girl to one of our favorite walking spots around town. I appreciated that she asked for water and a bowl given the nights are still warm. Appreciate the mindfulness around appropriate times to get a pup out in the summer.”

About: Hi, I’m Lisa. I provide gentle, reliable pet care for cats and dogs, keeping their routines as normal as possible while you’re away. I’m certified in pet CPR and take care instructions seriously, with a strong focus on safety and consistency. My dog is 17 years young, so I especially enjoy working with pets who are older, shy, anxious, or used to a quiet home. I believe routines help pets feel secure, so I follow schedules closely, keep walks consistent, and watch for any behavioral changes. I offer house sitting, drop-in visits, and dog walking. I’m available seven days a week and organize my schedule around pets’ routines. I’m present for morning care, afternoon walks or check-ins, evening care, and overnight stays when booked. I do have two predictable personal commitments each day (late morning and early evening), and I plan pet care around those times so routines remain consistent. Walk times can be adjusted as needed, especially during hotter parts of the day. I treat clients’ homes with respect and care. I keep doors and gates secure, double-check leashes during walks, and never take risks with unfamiliar dogs. I’m happy to provide regular updates with notes and photos so you can feel confident while you’re away.

I am a writer who works from home. I am available for daycare, afternoon walks & drop-ins, and select boarding for dogs who get along well with my two dogs and are good with cats. If your dog is trained off-leash, has solid recall, and is either good with other dogs or muzzle trained, I offer pack hikes and walks.
