About: I’ve owned a dog ever since I was 3 years old. My wife, daughter and I love dogs, and treat our dog with the utmost love and care. You have my word that I will treat your animal with the same love and care I show for my dog. I also spend a lot of time with walking dogs at the SPCA, so I have been professionally trained and therefore have a plethora of experience with all dog personalities. I work full time in the Army but I am typically free on the weekends or early in the mornings to help out with pet care. I will always follow the rules you have laid out for your pet and ensure that your pet is taken care of to the best of my ability

About: I've grown up with dogs my whole life and have always loved them. I'm the one my friends and family always ask to watch their pups, it's something I've always loved doing. My dog Charles has been my shadow for the last 10 years, and although he much prefers the couch life, he still joins me on walks and hikes when he's up for an adventure. I'm new to the Monterey area and currently have a flexible schedule, so I have plenty of time for walks, drop-ins, and quality time with your dog. I'm available throughout the week and can easily work around what you need. Over the last several months, I've cared for my family's two dogs across several trips while they traveled. Charles gets along great with dogs of any size, he's been living happily alongside both of them and loves playing in the backyard together. I've cared for senior dogs and dogs with extra needs, from managing a specific eye care routine for vision loss to giving medication for anxiety during travel, so I'm comfortable following a detailed routine and staying attentive to how a dog's doing day to day. My goal is to make your dog feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. I look forward to meeting you and your pup! My schedule is wide open these days, so I'm flexible for morning walks, midday breaks, or afternoon adventures, whatever fits your pup's routine best. Short notice works too. Safety comes first, whether I'm out on a walk or watching your home. On walks, I always double check your dog's leash, collar, or harness before heading out to make sure everything is secure, and I stay alert to traffic, other dogs, and anything that might spook a nervous pup. For drop-ins and house sitting, I treat your home like it's my own. That means doors and gates stay locked, food and water are kept fresh and where they should be, and I leave everything exactly as I found it, plus regular updates and photos so you're never left wondering how things are going :)

About: There was never not a dog in my house growing up, so caring for dogs is second nature to me. Over the years I’ve taken care of everything from purebreds to mutts, and while I’ve always had a soft spot for rescues, I love all dogs equally and treat every one like family. I work primarily from home and have a very flexible schedule, which means I can offer plenty of attention and companionship throughout the day. Since I’m home most of the time, I’m available for walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and pet sitting on both weekdays and weekends. I know how important consistency is for pets, so I’ll always do my best to stick to their usual routine so they feel comfortable and secure. I live in a clean, quiet, pet-friendly home with my wife, who’s also a big animal lover. We don’t have kids or pets of our own, so we’re able to keep things calm and give your pet our full attention. Safety always comes first with me. I follow feeding, medication, and exercise instructions closely, and I’m happy to send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is in good hands.

About: I have shared my life with pets for as long as I can remember and have always had a deep love and respect for animals. I previously worked as a 5-star Rover pet sitter before taking time away to care for my grandfather full-time. I’m now excited to return and build my Rover profile again. As a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, I’ve had the privilege of working with people and, on occasion, supporting pets alongside their owners, including animals facing serious health challenges. Those experiences have strengthened my patience, compassion, and attentiveness. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, and birds of different ages and personalities, including senior pets. Whether it’s playtime, walks, medication, or simply providing comfort and companionship, I treat every animal with the same care and respect I would give my own. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you always know your pet is safe and happy. I work part-time with a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide dependable pet care throughout the week. I’m available for drop-in visits, dog walking, and house sitting, and I’ll always communicate clearly about my availability. I understand how important consistency is for pets and will follow your routine to help them feel comfortable and secure. Your pet’s safety and well-being are my top priorities. I carefully follow your instructions, maintain your pet’s normal routine, and make sure they always have fresh food, water, exercise, and plenty of attention. I’ll provide regular photo and message updates so you can feel confident your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away.

About: I grew up around animals, working on my grandparents’ ranch and helping to care for horses, cows, sheep, chickens, ducks, cats, and dogs. I’ve always found working with animals to come quite naturally for me. I first began pet sitting during high school, and in recent years I’ve fostered for local rescue organizations, taking care of and helping to socialize dogs who are up for adoption. My husband and I adopted our own rescue, Leroy, in February 2020 and are so grateful we did! I work from home during the week, and enjoy breaking up my workday with nature walks. Leroy and I love spending time with other dogs, and especially enjoy taking them with us to explore our beautiful neighborhood! I tend to talk often to Leroy and the dogs I’m caring for, and treat them more like little humans. The dogs I grew up with were treated like members of the family, and I’ll treat your dog with the same kindness and respect. Since I work from home, my schedule is flexible and adaptable depending on the needs of the animal I’m caring for. As an example of my routine for my own dog, I usually take Leroy for a morning walk, a lunchtime walk, and another longer hike or beach walk in the afternoon/early evening, plus a short potty walk after dinner. Depending on whether your dog is dog-friendly or not, I can care for them together or separately. I prefer to visit for a meet-and-greet before scheduling any bookings, so that I can get to know you and your pet. I like to have an in-depth understanding of their typical daily schedule, so that I can stick to it closely during our time together. My goal is for your pet to be as comfortable and stress-free as possible, which to me means sticking to their usual routine and activities. I will follow your directions to a tee, and be in contact with updates regularly to keep you informed. If I'm house sitting or doing drop ins, I'll treat your space with the utmost care and respect. For boarding, I do my very best to make your pet feel at home here with us! Either way, your fur baby will be in goods hands.

Carol agreed in Oct to have visits to meet our dog in preparation for Xmas trip. Our dog is really scared of strangers. It took 6-7 visits for our dog to get used to Carol. Carol was very patient with it. She was flexible working out times and was able to do some walking visits at Xmas. She contacted us with updates and questions and we felt like our dog was in good hands. We will continue to work with Carol now that our dog has another person she likes!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
