Dog care is my full time job, therefore I will be home most of the time, but do sometimes leave to walk, pickup/drop off or visit other dogs, run an errand, etc. typically for one or two hours. My drop off/pick up hours: between 7am-10pm (after 10pm dogs will stay until the next day, extra boarding rate may apply) Daycare rates: are for up to 10hrs/day (from booked time) boarding rate applies after 10hrs. I usually only take dogs that can be left alone for a couple of hours (they will be inside and can be separated in a different room, playpen or crate if needed) never left outside! Sometimes I can only take small/medium dogs (depending on the other dogs I have during a stay) Drop off/Pick ups: One Drop off or Pick up only is half of posted rate. Puppies: I only take puppies over 6 months and only when the other young dogs in my care are similar size. Seniors: I’m happy to watch a senior dog, even with health or incontinence issues. Friendly dogs only: I can only take dogs that are friendly with other dogs as there will always be other dogs, it’s always a dog pawty at the house 🐾🎉 Barking: some barking is normal, but dogs that bark excessively and/or at night are not a good fit since neighbors live close by. Exercise: Most days we go for a 30/45 minute walk/hike in the morning and 20/30minute walk in the evening whenever possible! Also lots of play time in my spacious backyard and a little rest/nap time early afternoon. Meals: I feed the dogs separately and supervise meal times closely. Nights: at night we have a 10pm potty break in the yard and boarders can sleep wherever they’re comfortable (on my bed, dog bed, couch or crate if they’re crated at home at night). We usually get up between 6:30- 7am. Please let me know if you have any questions 🐾

Safety, trust & environment

Safety is my #1 priority! Yards: My front and back yard are fully fenced in (and dogs are never left unattended in the yards). Please make sure your dog is up to date on vaccinations and current on flea and tick medication (I’ll be happy to apply if needed during their stay) Security: I have a Ring camera in my house and outside. Environment: I have two friendly doodles. While boarding/ daycare at my house (family style) your dog(s) can play, fetch, go on walks/hikes, relax, etc. Dogs are allowed on the furniture (and bed) and I have crates (medium and large) and/or playpen available if your dog is used to them or if you're crate training. I separate dogs (playpen, crate or bedroom with doorway gate) when eating or when they’re left alone, if they’re not very familiar with each other, need separation, are small/shy dogs or a puppy/senior. Car: I have a reliable SUV ( Subaru Forester) and can come to your house for walks/hikes/beach fun or pet visits. I have doggy seat belts for your dogs’ harness if preferred. Please make sure your dog is up to date with their vaccinations and on monthly flea and tick treatments (I’ll be happy to give them if due during their stay) and is healthy (no diarrhea or cough) when dropping off for care as to not get the other dogs sick!

Information Marion B. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your pet has any special needs, limitations, medications and/or allergies and any strong likes or dislikes. I can accommodate most needs if informed ahead of time! Please note I can only take dog-friendly dogs and dogs that are unreliable, play rough or are pushy around other dogs will not be a good fit for my dog care. Also I can’t take certain strong powerful breeds such as bully/ bully mixes, mastiffs, cane corso’s, rottweilers plus any dog with an aggression or bite history.

A typical day

Wake up: 6:30-7am. Breakfast:7-7:30am AM walk/hike: 8-9am Most mornings we go for a 30/45minutes hike with my doggy friends and their pups or walk around Seaside. Activities at the house: Throughout the day we play in the backyard with doggy friends, fetch, run, water play, dig in the doggy sand pit, short walks, etc. Treats (let me know if your dog has allergies) for basic commands (sit, stay, come, etc) Toys, chews, dog beds: We have a basket full off dog toys, balls and things to chew. Dog beds, places to rest throughout the house. Away Activities: Sometimes on slower days, we to go to the beach, dog park (if they are used to them) or longer hikes. I believe a tired dog is a happy and better behaved dog and dogs need exercise, play time, and time to sniff all the pawsome smells there are! Afternoons: We have nap/rest time and more play time after. Dinner: 5:30-6pm PM walk (before or after dinner): We go for a shorter walk around my neighborhood (note: some days are very busy and I do short walks in separate groups instead when possible, but those days they have lots of play time at the house with each other ?) Night: Last potty break 10pm. Boarders have options to sleep on dog beds, couch or my bed (crates for dogs that sleep in their crates at home).

Pet care experience

I love being a full time dog care provider! It’s something I always dreamed of and I feel fortunate to be able to spend my days and nights surrounded by dogs! I have taken care of dogs and other pets since I was little. Love taking care (walking, daycare, boarding, etc.) of families and friends dogs too and fostered a sweet dog with anxiety for a year. I've raised my own dogs from young puppies through their senior years, all that have past the rainbow bridge were well into their late senior years (14-almost 17years). I have experience with puppies (house training, etc.) and (incontinent) seniors and all ages in between (5lbs-125lbs). Have administered medications and given insulin shots as well. I have two dog friendly dogs (doodles) that love doggy play dates. I have a Dog Walking and Dog CPR/First Aid certificate, because all dogs well being is very important to me!

Marion was wonderful! We will definitely rebook with her next time we are in the area. Our pup, Captain, had a great time and we appreciated the regular check-ins and pictures she provided. 5 stars- would highly recommend!

I just moved back to Monterey and was happy to be able to have Marion as a reliable sitter. Across the process of scheduling, her communication has been clear and I’ve appreciated her flexibility. Pinto can take a while to adjust to new setting and was still nervous when I left her but 20 minutes after, I got an update showing me how well she had adjusted to Marion’s and had even gone back to playing with an old friend. Throughout her stay, I felt confident that she was not just being well taken care of but having a great time thanks to Marion’s regular check-ins. I would definitely recommend Marion for anyone who wants a kind sitter that is responsive to different dogs needs and an excellent communicator.

Marion was very responsive and very kind and happy to host mobi and kora for an afternoon while I took my nephew to the aquarium. Her dogs are very well behaved and played nicely with mine. She has a nice yard in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood.
