About: I love animals and I have always had a variety of pets (both typical and unique) as beloved members of my family or cherished beings I’ve gotten the opportunity to spend time with. Some of the animals I’ve lived with or cared for include: dogs, cats, fish (salt and fresh), birds, hedgehogs, hamsters, reptiles, rabbits, pigs, and many more! I currently live in Petworth with my partner and our 4 beautiful rescue dogs (Havanese-4 y/o, Pomeranian-15 y/o, Husky-10 y/o, and Pittie-6 y/o). Over the years, my diverse and pawfict pack has taught me more and more about pet care. Especially my senior Pomeranian–whom I’ve had the privilege to love since he was a rambunctious puppy–now into his baby grandpa-hood, and hopefully into his twilight years. I look forward to walking dogs and meeting/sitting various pets in our neighborhood. Thank you for considering me to care for your special family member! My schedule can be somewhat flexible - if I know in advance I can change the days/hours I work. I work in my office 8 hours a day, four days a week. My in-office days are (typically) Monday - Thursday, 10 am to 7 pm (because of commute time), so on these days I can walk or visit your pet before or after work. With prearrangement, your pet may even be able to accompany me in office (my 15 y/o Pomeranian comes with me to work). On my work-from-home days, I’m available to sit and work from your home or take a lunch break to walk or drop-in on your pet. On weekends my availability is variable, but I try my best to keep my Rover calendar up to date. My partner and I live in Hyattsville with our 4 dogs (Havanese-Maltese, Pomeranian, Husky mix, and Terrier mix). We have a backyard and 2 separate living spaces in our home, giving us room for extra pups. Our home has one-step entry in the back, making it great for elderly dogs or dogs with joint problems.

“Highly recommend Zach! He has just started walking my dog, Cooper, M-F for the past 2 weeks and the experience has been nothing short of fantastic. Zach is incredibly reliable and punctual, and he has a natural way with dogs that is evident in how excited Cooper gets whenever he sees him. Also takes fire photos of Cooper too!”

“Jane is so loving and kind to all 3 of my dogs. They were excited to meet with her during our meet and greet. She's a true animal lover including dogs and cats. I know my dogs will be in great hands in their future walks! They are very excited to get more cuddles and belly scratches. Jane, thank you so much!”

About: I had two dogs back in my hometown and they feel like boss of the house when I am around. I can take care of puppies, small dogs and big ones too. I am currently doing my masters at UMD and I am usually free in the day because my classe are mostly scheduled in the evening I live in apartment housing, well it has a park and lot of space to walk around. I can come to your house and walk them around.

About: I have cared for dogs of all sizes for about 5 years now. Walking, feeding, playing, and even cuddling are some of my favorite things to do to satisfy the dogs needs as well as the everyday physical requirement. I love being in the presence of animals, so gaining the opportunity to care for them personally would be a delight. I am currently engaged in a part-time law internship so I have an ample amount of time to spread accordingly throughout the week. From early morning hours, to mid-day or even evenings on the weekends or weekdays, I am available. My approach to caring for the pets within the clients home is firstly, abiding by the rules of the home and expectations of the pet. For example, if the dog is not allowed on the couch, I would not want to disrupt that practice during my visit. Secondly, I would provide my undivided attention to the dog, ensuring all of the necessary requirements are met.

“Gregg H. is an excellent dog walker. He’s always reliable and punctual and sends great updates with pictures. My dog Zoomie looks forward to his walk and Gregg makes sure he has a great time. Gregg is very patient and caring with Zoomie and has a genuine passion for animals. I highly recommend Gregg as he goes above and beyond to keep your pet happy and safe.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 8 including training my own childhood dog. I have worked with labs, bouviers, golden retrievers, terriers, and more! I am working from home so I will have lots of time to spend with your pet. I would love an opportunity to spend the extra time I have with your pet! I am a very patient person & am used to working with all types of dogs. Also, am very organized so no worries with time management!

About: I have two elderly cats and a handicapped dog that i have experience taking care of. Throughout the years, I have learned how to navigate potentially difficult situations pertaining to interactions with other animals or medical emergencies. I will always treat your pets as if they are my own, because I recognize that a pet is a member of the family and should be treated as such. I am a student at the University of Maryland; I am currently a senior so I have a lot of free time to spend caring for pets. I will follow all directions exactly; my yard is not fenced in but I will gladly visit clients’ houses to care for their pets as needed.

“Kasey has been great with our pup. Communicating with her is very easy, which is important to us because we’re gone for 10 hours during the day. It comforts us to know that we have someone we can rely on to check on our little one while we’re at work.”

About: I believe deeply in meeting every animal where they are with patience, kindness, and understanding. Over the past few years, I’ve cared for fur human companions of all ages and personalities—from wiggly puppies learning the ropes to wise seniors who move at their own gentle pace. I adjust my care to fit each animal’s needs, whether it’s playful energy, calm companionship, or a steady, reassuring presence. I don’t rush. I don’t force. I listen—with soft steps, patient hands, and an open heart. Building trust, creating comfort, and respecting each unique spirit is at the core of everything I do. Because for me, it’s never just about walking a dog or filling a food bowl—it’s about making sure they feel safe, loved, and understood every step of the way. Caring for animals has always been a natural part of my daily rhythm. Whether it’s early morning walks, mid-day check-ins, or cozy evening visits, I genuinely enjoy making time for each fur-friend I care for. I build my schedule with intention, making sure I have plenty of time to focus fully on every visit. I believe animals deserve calm, unhurried attention—whether that means a slow stroll, a playful session, or simply sitting together and keeping them company. This isn’t something I “fit in” around other things—sharing time with animals is something I look forward to and build my days around, with a lot of heart. When visiting a client's home, my goal is to create a calm, safe, and happy experience for their furry family member. Each visit is built around the animal’s needs—whether that's a refreshing walk, playtime, a quiet sit-together session, or making sure they enjoy their meals comfortably. I follow the routines and habits they’re familiar with, from feeding schedules to favorite walking paths to cuddle time (if they want it!). I always treat a client’s home with respect and care, keeping things clean, tidy, and leaving everything as I found it. My focus is to help animals feel relaxed, loved, and secure until their favorite humans return.

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life, from tiny Chihuahuas to large German Shepherds. I’m comfortable with all sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. I regularly care for my friends’ dogs when they travel and love building bonds through walks, playtime, and snuggles. I believe every dog deserves patience, kindness, and a lot of love! I currently work part-time, so I have a flexible schedule during the day, evenings, and weekends. This allows me to give pets the time, attention, and care they need, whether it’s for walks, playtime, feedings, or just good company! Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or at a client’s, I always focus on creating a calm, safe, and loving environment. I follow each pet’s routine closely and make sure they feel comfortable and secure. I respect clients’ homes and I treat every pet like family because that’s what they are.

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my genuine love and patience for all pets, whether they’re playful puppies or wise seniors. I have experience with puppy training basics like potty breaks and leash walking, as well as special care for older pets who may need gentle attention or medication reminders. I pay close attention to each pet’s unique personality and needs, making sure they feel comfortable and cared for every step of the way. I’m also very reliable and communicative, so you’ll always know how your furry friend is doing while you’re away. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine because I’m available anytime! Whether it’s early mornings, afternoons, evenings, or weekends, I can adapt to your pet’s schedule and needs. This flexibility lets me provide consistent, attentive care—whether it’s quick visits, long walks, or overnight stays. Your pet will always have someone reliable and loving around whenever they need it. When caring for pets in my home or my client’s home, safety and comfort are my top priorities. I make sure the environment is clean, secure, and free from anything that could harm your pet. At your home, I follow your specific routines and rules closely to keep things familiar and stress-free for your pet. In my home, I create a calm and welcoming space where pets feel safe and loved, with plenty of room to play and rest. I always supervise pets during playtime and walks to prevent accidents, and I’m quick to respond if any concerns arise. You can trust that your furry friend is in caring, responsible hands at all times

About: I've lived with 1+ pets for the majority of my life, and feel quite strongly that life is exponentially better with a furry friend by your side. I have experience working with anywhere from 1 to 8 animals at a time, including dogs, cats, bunnies, chickens, and some limited work with reptiles. I am comfortable administering medical care to animals as instructed, in addition to providing enrichment, activity, and general TLC to your fur babies. I am flexible with my scheduling, and am happy to provide overnight care. I will be working part-time this summer, which will allow me to be flexible with and attentive to your fur babies' needs! I can do overnight stays, in-house only. I am currently living in an apartment, so while I would not be able to house your pets overnight, I am comfortable with in-home, overnight care and/or thorough and frequent visits throughout the day, and have reliable transportation to do so. I approach pet care with respect for household and animal boundaries and dispositions; I strive to help maintain routine and comfort levels for each and every animal in my care. Long walks, park visits, appointment drop-off/pick-up, etc., I'm very willing and able to help keep your critters comfy while you're away!

“William provided great service, he responded quickly and was great at getting to know our dog Daisy. He walked Daisy on time, and sent us pictures. I will definitely use William's services again. He is very reliable and provided good care for our young dog. Daisy and I recommend William.”

About: I am an owner of two dogs myself, and I have cared for, walked, and fed the pets of friends and family, and I love all animals and am eager to care for them as a job. My oldest dog is 15 years old and we rescued him when I was 6, and my second dog is 3 and she's a Goldendoodle. With owning two different dogs I have experience with different energy levels, food requirements, and general needs. I am good at taking directions and will follow them to a T! I look forward to looking after your pets. I am currently on summer break from college, and am looking for some extra work to save up money for the year! I heard about Rover and it sounded like a great and flexible opportunity to do something I like as a job, and other than days I am away on vacation I am highly available, especially on short notice, to sit, walk, and feed pets. As I have two dogs at home, I am not planning on hosting any pets in my home, but I can crate dogs in a client's home or manage them as they roam the house and backyard depending on the needs and wishes of the client and pet. I can follow the clients' directions very well, but I am also quite adept at regular pet caretaking skills as I have two of my own.

About: I volunteered at the Milwaukee Humane Society doing dog walking for one year with dogs of all ages, backgrounds, and sizes! I also have taken care of 1 senior dog for a year, 2 pups for a couple weeks, and 3 dogs (two being seniors!) for 2 years. In addition to this, I have 8 years of equine experience (13 years of riding, 8 of chores, and 3 of farm staying), and I've also watched goats, ducks, and chickens on these beautiful farms! I'm confident with medications and different personalities because of these experiences. I'm a full-time student currently, so my weeks are pretty open! I am very flexible and will always be able to make time for your pet. Early mornings and evenings are my most available times! I am a very attentive caretaker who followers instructions precisely. Seriously, precisely - I will ask lots of questions if I'm confused! I love spending time with pets, whether playing or relaxing. I do have a cat in my home, so your pet must be okay with a cat!

Maria C.
“Maria is the most dog-centered and knowledgeable person I know! When it came to returning to the office for work, I knew I would ask Maria to walk and care for my two dogs, a 75 pound Chocolate Lab and 42 pound Foxhound/Beagle mix. Over the last three years she has given them regular walks, feeding, and water. Further, during short trips, family emergencies, or working late, she has cared for them. The dogs love her! She does fun activities with portable agility equipment, a large supply of cleaned toys, and healthy safe treats, even homemade frozen cups. She always leaves the home clean, property and house locked securely, and is very cautious with my mischievous pups! As a bonus, she comes in and happily takes care of my indoor/outdoor cat and four colony cats that live on my property.”

You can't go anywhere with Aubrey without hearing her ask, "may I please pet your dog?" - we swear she is a dog magnet! The canine community at large loves how she fawns over them with loving attention and scritches. Aubrey has also been hired to care for cats, rabbits, reptiles and chickens, in addition to house sitting and caring for human children. She's a natural and someone who her clients rely on and are happy to refer to their friends. Aubrey has grown up along side rescue dogs who she refers to as her babies.
