“I needed a sitter last minute to stay at my home with my nervous dog and Jane was incredible! She sent lots of updates and was extremely communicative. I would trust Jane with Nari any time I am away.”

“Gabriela took wonderful care of our two Bernese Mountain Dogs, Jasper and Penelope, during a 3 night stay at our house while I was away. She sent updates and plenty of photos throughout, and it was clear the dogs were happy and well looked after the entire time. On top of that, she left the house spotless, which we highly appreciated. Thank you, Gabriela, for your time and care.”

About: I have had experience caring for dogs since I was 10 years old. I’ve taken care of Senior dogs up to 17 years old and puppies starting at one year-old. I love love love dogs, playing with them and spending time with them. My daily routine is highly flexible and I can make time to care for your pet! Just let me know when and where and we will make it work! I’m professional and hold myself to a high standard, will adjust to your preferences regarding care for your dog (you know them best), and will make sure they have fun too!

About: I've had dogs in my life since I was 5 years old, and caring for them has always come naturally to me. Beyond my own dogs, I've also taken care of dogs belonging to friends, family, and my roommate — walking them often and playing with them regularly. I love spoiling dogs with attention and affection, and I make sure they feel safe, loved, and well exercised I work a full-time job during the day, which is why I'm available weekday evenings starting at 6:00 PM. The good news is that my weekends are completely free, so I'm available all day Saturday and Sunday to take care of your pets! During drop-in visits and walks, I follow the dog's usual routine to keep them comfortable — making sure they have food and water, giving them attention and playtime, and adjusting the walk to their energy level and pace. I treat every dog with the same love and care I'd give my own, always keeping their safety and happiness as my priority.
“Ahnisha (Lola) came to my Brickell home the same day I reached out and I explained all of my anxieties about dog sitting in my home while I was away for a business trip. I have two needy senior dogs and one cat. Throughout the week I was away, she was very pleasant, thoughtful, caring, mature and most importantly, trustworthy. She followed instructions, gave meds & kept me updated with everything! I appreciate how respectful she was to my home (going above & beyond, cleaning) and my pets. It takes a lot to put your trust into a person caring for your animals when you love them so much, I’m so thankful to have Lola now and we will be using her again. One more thing, she literally cuddled them during the thunderstorm!🥹”

About: Hi! I’m a marine biologist with over three years of professional animal care and animal husbandry experience, and caring for animals is both my career and my passion. For more than a year, I worked as an Animal Care Technician alongside veterinary technicians, where I performed daily animal welfare assessments, monitored clinical health and behavior, and helped ensure animals maintained excellent overall health and well-being. That experience taught me to recognize subtle changes in behavior or condition and reinforced the importance of compassionate, attentive care. I grew up with both dogs and cats and currently have three cats of my own, so I understand that pets are family. Whether I’m caring for energetic puppies, senior pets, shy cats, or high-energy dogs, I strive to make every pet feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I believe every pet deserves individualized care. Before each visit, I’ll take the time to learn your pet’s routine, personality, favorite activities, and any special instructions so I can provide a stress-free experience that’s tailored specifically to them. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, enrichment, cuddle time, or simply sticking to their normal routine, I’m happy to adapt to their needs. You can count on me to be dependable, communicative, and detail-oriented. I’ll provide regular photo and video updates, treat your home with respect, and care for your pets as if they were my own. My goal is to give you complete peace of mind while you’re away, knowing your furry family member is in experienced, caring hands. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine! I work full-time Monday through Friday (typically 8:00 AM–4:00 PM), but I have a flexible schedule and can often adjust my work hours to accommodate morning, afternoon, or evening visits. This makes me a great fit for drop-in visits, dog walks, and cat care throughout the week. I’m also available for overnight house sitting in your home, where your pets can stay comfortable in their familiar environment and maintain their normal routine. On weekends, my schedule is very flexible, allowing me to dedicate more time to longer walks, multiple drop-in visits, overnight stays, and personalized pet care. I always strive to provide dependable, consistent care that works around both your schedule and your pet’s unique needs. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are always my top priorities. With my professional animal care background, I’m trained to be observant, patient, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs and behavior. When caring for pets in your home, I do my best to maintain their normal routine to minimize stress. I’ll carefully follow all feeding, walking, medication, and enrichment instructions, ensure doors, gates, and harnesses are secure, and treat your home with the same respect I would my own. Communication is one of my priorities, so you can expect regular photo and video updates throughout my visits. For dog walks, I also love sharing my Strava walk summary so you can see where we explored, along with the distance and time we spent together. At the end of each stay, I provide a personalized Pet Report Card summarizing your pet’s adventures, routines, behavior, and any memorable moments, so you can feel connected even while you’re away. If I ever notice anything unusual with your pet’s behavior, appetite, or overall well-being, I’ll contact you promptly so we can determine the best course of action together. My goal is for you to return home to a happy, healthy pet and complete peace of mind, knowing they were cared for with the same attention, professionalism, and compassion I give my own animals.

“Carolyn and our dog Sydney got along immediately. Carolyn is a trustworthy person and great with dogs. Her communication and willingness to take the best care of our dog, to our standard, was great.”

“Christina was so kind and helpful with my boys. My little Milo had a flare up with his allergies and she was up to the job to administer multiple medications. She was responsive and cared about my boys as if they were her own. My shy Theo really warmed up to her which is rare. I had such a great time on my trip knowing my little guys were taken care of.”

About: I just moved here from Chicago to start a position at UM! I’ve been an animal, especially dog and cat, person my entire life. Since leaving home, I’ve had to leave my puppies with my family during this transition. I miss them so dearly - I hope to find some families who have pets in need of some help. It will help me fulfill my need and love for animals, and I love to help others too. I worked at a dog kennel for 2+ years previously. Training, feeding, walking, and (my fav) playing with the pups! I feel confident in my ability to take care of any dog - big or small, energetic or sleepy. I have learned the skills to create a safe, trustworthy, and stable environment for you and your pets. I’m currently working full-time and the University of Miami - but my job allows for a lot of flexibility as a lot of my work is online. I’m completely free every afternoon after 5pm and open every weekend, but throughout the day I have the flexibility for potty breaks and walks. I have a lovely dog park right next to my apartment building complex, as well as ample space in my 650sq ft apartment to escape the heat and still play. I could play and pet with dogs/dogs all day . The most important part about your pets experience is their safety, and you, the owner having peace of mind that you will pick them up happy and healthy! Before any visit, I would like to prioritize discussing your dog needs, and your needs to ensure that you know your pets is in good hands.

I would definitely book with her again.”

About: I’ve always grown up with pets in my life! From the multiple dogs we had in my childhood, to the cats we adopted later on, to the pet walking and pet boarding services I’ve offered to friends and family, I love to be around our furry friends. My childhood dog passed away a couple years ago, and at the end of her life she was dealing with diabetes and blindness— I understand and know the special care, attention, and love that is required for our older babies ❤️ Currently, I live at home alone, with a fenced backyard and ample safe space for pets to hang out in, with no other dogs or cats. I work from home and am able to give my full undivided attention to your pets! I’m currently working part time and remotely so I have more than enough time to focus on your pets needs. My working hours are in the morning where I connect online, but am able to go for walks before then as well. I am a huge outdoors person and love going for walks!! My home is a very pet-friendly safe space, with a big fenced backyard that gives pets space to hang out comfortably. The house has spacious living rooms where the pets can be in as well with much space. The house is in a residential calm area, also nearby to The Underline— great for walks! I’m able to walk, feed, and water pets as often as needed.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Coconut Grove
Joel did a great job looking over Stitch and Meeko for my weekend trip. Joel house sat for me, staying over and keeping my boys company. Joel came over a couple of times before my trip, making sure he knew where everything was. During the trip he gave me updates, sent me photo's and I felt very happy he was looking after them. Definitely recommend Joel for anyone looking for someone to trust their furbabies with.

Sam was really great with my 9-year-old kitty! She sent updates and photos daily, was responsive, and overall a great communicator. At one point she told me a storm was expected and that she would be with my boy when it was thundering when he gets nervous. She also made smart decisions about not letting him out into his catio when it was too hot. Sam even gave the stray kitties in the yard some love, which was really sweet. You can tell she genuinely cares about animals. Highly recommend!

This was my first time using a sitter from Rover, and I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Sophie was incredibly kind, responsible, communicative, and attentive from start to finish. She sent me regular photos and videos of my pets, responded to my messages so promptly, and gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. My dog is very sweet but somewhat slow to trust new people, and she was so patient with her. It was obvious she made my girls feel safe and cared for, which I really appreciated. When I got home, everything was exactly as I’d left it, which speaks to how respectful and responsible she is. I felt completely comfortable knowing my pets and home were in such good hands. I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable pet sitter, and I will absolutely book with Sophie again.

Heather was amazing and a huge help with my dog. Very reliable, caring, and easy to communicate with. She really helped me out when I needed someone to look after my dog, and I felt completely comfortable leaving my pet in her care. I highly recommend her and would definitely book with her again.

The best sitter ever! Tommy took our dog on plenty of walks and even for a bone at the pet store and pup cup. Tommy sent photos everyday, was very communicative, and I could tell our dog was happy. It makes it so much easier to go out of town when you know you can trust your sitter to take such good care of your pet. Tommy is the best!

Morgan was nothing short of AMAZING! She stayed over for a week while we were away and not only did she take wonderful care of our fluff, but the space was super clean after she left! Our Aussie is wonderful but she isn't good with other dogs - Morgan had no problem keeping her separated from my mom's dogs while making sure to keep to her regular schedule! Long walks, plenty of play time in the backyard, and cuddles in bed were a regular part of their week together! I wouldn't hesitate to have Morgan take care of our little girl again :)

Sarah took wonderful care of our cat Leopold while we were away, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. Leo was clearly very happy and well cared for when we returned. The house was spotless, and Sarah was great about communicating with us — especially when there was an issue with the garage door. She kept us informed and handled everything perfectly. We really appreciated her reliability and care, and would absolutely book with her again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Coconut Grove walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Coconut Grove maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Coconut Grove choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
