About: We are Carlos and Liliana, a married couple with a lifelong connection to pets. We both grew up on family farms, surrounded by dogs, cats, horses and other animals, so caring for them has always been a natural part of our lives. Our beloved dog, Chispita, was part of our family for 14 years, giving us experience caring for a dog throughout the different stages of her life. We have also regularly cared for our children’s cats in New York and New Orleans, including administering daily medication when needed. My work schedule is flexible, so I can be home for much of the day, give regular potty breaks and walks, and keep your pet’s routine as close to normal as possible. About: I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember and was always the one in my family caring for them. I currently have two sweet boys of my own, both 8 years old. Growing up, I dreamed of becoming a veterinarian; a reflection of just how much I’ve always cared for animals, but life had other plans and I proudly joined the service, where I’ve been serving for 13 years. Being in a new city away from family can get lonely, and I can’t think of a better way to feel at home than spending time with furry companions. My dogs are small, so I take them on multiple short walks throughout the day to keep them happy and exercised. At home, they stay in a gated area in my bedroom while I’m at work, and at night they sleep with me. If you’d prefer your pet to sleep freely, I’m happy to allow that, but if your pet is crate-trained and you’d like me to maintain that routine, I completely understand. I’m not rushing in and out between a full-time job or trying to squeeze pet care into an already busy schedule. I can work around their normal routines and be there for the walks, playtime, meals, medications, or simply the company they’re used to having. I’m starting locally because I’ve been caring for friends’ and family members’ pets for years and would love to continue doing something I genuinely enjoy while building my Rover experience. I’m also hoping to eventually combine pet sitting with my love of travel, so this feels like a really fun new chapter for me. If your pet has a specific schedule or needs someone who can be flexible, I’m happy to work around their routine. And if plans change or something unexpected comes up, I have the flexibility to adjust without it becoming a problem I can’t care for pets in my own home because pets aren’t allowed in my apartment, so I primarily offer care in your home. (My own pets live with my brother, so we have what you would call “joint custody” haha. I’m the auntie who visits any chance she gets and also the sitter whenever my brother is out of town.) When I’m staying in their homes, I treat it with the same respect and care I would give my own. I’m tidy, respectful of your space, and mindful of your home and belongings. I’m also BIG on routine. Before you leave, I want/NEED to know detailed instructions on how things normally work for your pet — feeding times and portions, walks, medications or vitamins, bedtime, favorite treats, where they like to sleep, and all those little quirks that make them them. Show me their routine, and I’ll do my best to keep things as normal as possible while you’re away. Because I’m taking a career break, I have the flexibility to spend real quality time with your pets. Whether they love long walks, playtime, cuddles on the couch, or simply having someone nearby, I’m happy to keep them company throughout the day rather than just stopping in to feed them.
