“I had a wonderful experience with my pet sitter! She took great care of my cat, Julius, and gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. She was caring, responsible, communicative, and treated Julius like her own. I really appreciated the updates and knowing that he was safe, comfortable, and well taken care of. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their pet. I will absolutely book her again!” 🐾❤️”

“Deborah did an outstanding job with our babies. When I got home neither of them were stressed out from us being gone or from the sitting. She did what she said she would and what we asked from her. We will be rebooking with Deborah again.”

“Alana was wonderful with our baby Kaya. She sent photos, updates and was quick to answer any questions we had. She was able to give our dog her medicine, and took her for her regular walks. We came home to a spotless home, and a happy dog. We look forward to having Alana come back soon, without hesitation. Thank you Alana!”

“Sam sent a note that she would be early to our place which demonstrated a facet of her exceptional communication skills. She is an excellent listener as my wife and I provided an overview and asked the right questions to get the right answers. Sam bonded extremely sell with Athena, playing on the terrace, taking her out for breaks and relaxing on the couch! Sam will be supporting overnights for us during an upcoming trip. Highly recommend Sam to help take excellent care of your dog!”

About: When I was five my parents gave my brothers and I a puppy for christmas and named him Sparky, this year he turns 16! Growing up I have always loved animals of all shapes and sizes and would love to love your furbaby. I have taught Sparky plenty of tricks and enjoy the bonding it builds. I have petsat for plenty of my friends and have always enjoyed it. Not only do I have 15+ years of experience with dogs but I also have years of experience with cats! I have my own cat named Cleo and she turned 2 this year. I am currently working part time as a Registered Behavior Technician. I will have plenty of time before and after sessions to play and care for your furbabies. I also have weekends off! I will always ensure your pet is safe and cared for. I am super respectful of other people’s homes and belongings and will treat your furbaby as my own.

“Stephanie did a great job taking care of our two cats. One of our cats has asthma and she administered his inhaler twice a day. She was also very communicative and detail-oriented and sent great pictures of the cats. We could tell they were happy to have her taking care of them while we were gone. We would happily use her again as a petsitter. We highly recommend her.”

“We left our 1 year old dog with autumn for 15 days while we traveled abroad. We have only had our dog for a couple months, so she’s still in training. Autumn kept up the training while we were away which we really appreciated. She communicated with us every day, and it really helped us relax and enjoy our vacation knowing our girl was safe with Autumn. We came back to a clean home & a happy dog which is all we can ask for!”

“Mia stayed in our home with our two dogs. She was phenomenal!! She was prompt, very detailed, and left our home spotless. She updated me constantly with videos and photos of our babies. We will definitely use her services again! She was a pleasure to work with.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats for over 4 years, including pets of family, friends, and neighbors. I’m also a dog owner myself, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your fur baby. I have hands-on experience with small dogs and am comfortable with feeding routines, walks, playtime, and lots of attention. I’ll treat your pet like my own and make sure they feel safe and loved while you’re away. I currently work part-time, which gives me flexibility to incorporate pet care into my routine. I enjoy spending my free time caring for animals and can easily make pet care a priority throughout my week. I provide a safe, comfortable, and loving environment where every pet is treated like my own. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions and their pet’s normal routine, including feeding, walks, medications, and any special needs. I’m also happy to provide regular pictures, videos, and updates so owners can have peace of mind while their pet is in my care.
About: I’ve been around and cared for animals for most of my life. In high school, I was part of a veterinary magnet program where I earned my CVA certification and got about two years of hands-on experience working as a vet tech. I spent around three years working in dog training as well. I’ve fostered both dogs and cats, which gave me experience helping animals with different personalities and needs adjust and feel comfortable. I have experience with pets of all different sizes and ages and I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, bathing, basic training, and of course giving them plenty of attention and love. Having pets of my own, I know how important it is to have someone you trust taking care of them. I currently work part-time and am also in school, but I have a flexible schedule that gives me plenty of time for pet care. I’m available throughout the week for walks, drop-ins, feeding, playtime, and other care depending on what you and your pet need. I always follow each pet’s normal routine and any instructions you leave for me. I’m comfortable handling different personalities and needs, and I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and gets plenty of attention while in my care. I’ll treat your home and your pets with the same care and respect I would my own.
“I have to admit I was super nervous leaving my boys for 2 weeks, especially with my cat having congestive heart failure but Ruth was wonderful and followed instructions, came back to our home and the boys looking great. Thank you Ruth, I will be rebooking you again.”

About: I’ve grown up around Rottweilers and had a Great Dane/Labrador named Charlie, and I currently have a Yorkie who’s turning 10 this October. I’ve also recently lived with cats, so I’m comfortable caring for both dogs and cats. Beyond that, I focus on creating a calm, safe environment, so your pet feels at ease while you’re away. Whether it’s engaging playtime, long walks, or quiet companionship, I adapt to their energy levels and personality to provide the best care possible. I have a flexible schedule so I can coordinate the time that fits best for you. I enjoy being active, so walks and outdoor playtime are always a highlight for me and the pets I care for. In clients’ homes, I respect and maintain pet’s established routine to ensure continuity. I pay close attention to safety, such as securing doors and gates, monitoring during walks, and ensuring the pet’s food and environment meet their unique needs. I also take the time to build trust with both pets and their owners by providing regular updates and staying responsive to their preferences.
“Stephanie was absolutely amazing! She accepted my Rover booking on very short notice, just a few days before the service, which immediately gave me so much relief. From the start, she was communicative, professional, trustworthy, and incredibly reliable. She took such great care of my pups and kept me updated with regular messages and photos, which made me feel completely at ease while I was away. My pups were happy, relaxed, and clearly very well cared for when I returned home. It was obvious they felt comfortable with her, and they warmed up to her right away — which says everything. Not only were my dogs happy, but my home was also left very tidy and well cared for. Stephanie truly went above and beyond, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, dependable, and attentive sitter. I would absolutely book with her again!”

About: I've loved dogs since I was a kid and always tried to learn the most I could about their cute faces. I used to volunteer with animal rescue groups in high school and am very comfortable around pets. To me, working with Rover is a great way to have animals in my life again as a college student. I'm currently a student at FIU as an Accounting major but I have plenty of free time to care for your sweet little fur baby. I might not look it but I am strong enough to carry a 100lbs dog if needed. I know how it feels when your dog gets loose so I will keep a watchful eye on your pup to avoid any heartache.

I recently moved to Miami and I have a part-time job, which allows me to dedicate myself to my true passion, which is caring for animals. I had a wonderful experience with my pet sitter! I will absolutely book her again!” 🐾❤️

First time using Tiffany for pet sitting and she was absolutely amazing with Stormy and went above and beyond in every way. She came over throughout the day to feed him, walk him, and spend real time with him…not just check in quickly and leave. She even took him out with her for a bit to keep him busy and give him extra attention outside of his regular walks, which meant so much to me. She sent updates all day, gave me total peace of mind, and it was clear Stormy was comfortable, cared for, and in great hands. I really appreciated the extra time, attention, and communication. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, thoughtful, and genuinely caring.

Aisa and her mom were an amazing team! They took great care of Noodle and kept me updated throughout the entire trip, which really helped keep me calm—especially since it was my first time leaving him. I truly felt like I made the right choice choosing them. Anytime I felt a bit anxious, they were quick to respond and reassure me with updates and messages. It gave me a lot of peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. I would definitely rebook with them again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Tamiami on Rover is $69.93 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 3,381 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Tamiami. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Tamiami walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Tamiami maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tamiami choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Tamiami. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
