About: Growing up with dogs all around was and continues to be a fun and deeply rewarding experience. I have cared for dogs (and cats, etc.) since I was a kid, and still often take care of family and friends' pets. Providing enrichment and engagement, anticipating and caring for needs, wrangling wily actors, managing space and time in a positive attitude, and thinking and acting flexibly, attuned to diverse and changing needs, are not only things required from a good dog walker - these are tasks I complete daily as a middle school teacher. I am available all day most Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with some availability on the weekends. During the school year, my availability will mostly be on the weekends, though I will be available during school breaks and holidays. As a dog walker, safety is the most important aspect. I am a very perceptive individual and take care to be aware of all of my surroundings. Any and all information you can share about your pet is greatly welcome.

About: I have cared for dogs and cats for most of my life. I have experience walking multiple dogs around my neighborhood, and staying overnight with dogs to provide 24 hour care. I am comfortable with all types of dogs and love getting to know each unique personality. I have cared for households of up to 6 cats and am well versed in tending to all their needs, including administering medications. I think the best way to succeed as a sitter is to take time to understand the animal and establish trust! I have complete availability this summer and can care for animals days and nights, seven days a week! I am open to working with multiple pets each day depending on their needs. I have two cats at home which are primarily indoor. I have experience walking dogs on and off leash. While I don’t have a fenced in yard at home, I would love to bring your pups to a dog park or play with them in your backyard. About: Hi there! We’re Amanda and Austen, a couple based in Scarborough with a dog of our own (our Mini Aussie, Mazie) and a lot of love to share with yours. When Amanda’s not caring for her sweet group of five-year-olds or Austen’s not out playing tennis, we’re spending time with Mazie, chasing seagulls at the beach, hiking in the mountains, or snuggling up on the couch after a snowy play session. We love active days just as much as laid-back ones, and we’re happy to match whatever energy your pup brings. We both grew up in homes with animals- at one point, Amanda had five dogs and a cat! We have cared for dogs of all breeds and energy levels, from teacup-size rescues to large-breed couch potatoes, plus plenty of other animals over the years (including Sparkles the Bearded Dragon, Amanda’s current classroom pet). We live in a quiet neighborhood with a fully fenced-in backyard that dogs love to explore. Austen works from home full-time, so your pup will get plenty of attention throughout the day, and we share responsibilities depending on the care your pet needs. Whether it’s a weekend adventure, daily daycare, or a cozy overnight stay, we’re here to make your dog feel happy, safe, and loved. We offer care throughout the week and are happy to accommodate weekends, holidays, and special requests as our schedule allows. Austen works from home and provides consistent weekday care and supervision, while Amanda handles most weekend walks, drop-ins, and house sitting when needed. Between the two of us, your pet will never go long without company, playtime, or a potty break. Whether it’s a weekend getaway or a last-minute trip, we’ll work with you to make sure your pup is happy and cared for. Our day care rate is based on an 8 hour day. We're happy to have your dog with us for longer, but we may ask for an additional fee based on the number of hours. We know how important it is to trust someone with your pet. That’s why we always begin with a meet-and-greet to ensure your dog is comfortable with us, and you’re confident in the care we provide. We take a gentle, respectful approach, especially with shy or anxious dogs, and we’ll always ask for your guidance on what makes your pup feel safe and secure. Whether we’re in your home or ours, we want to provide a low-stress, enriching environment with plenty of attention, structure, and love. We’re also happy to provide regular updates (with photos!) and check-ins during every visit or stay, so you’re always in the loop - because we’d want the same from someone watching Mazie.

I am currently in medical school so my schedule is busy but with plenty of time free on the weekends! I have full days (8am-6pm) Monday and Friday, but only brief afternoon classes on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and would love to spend my non-class time with a pup! I am additionally free any time on weekends as my weekends mainly entail staying at home to study. I am currently unable to offer pet care in my apartment. I live in an apartment building that is not pet friendly. I am able to travel wherever is needed!

About: In the past, I had a Rottweiler German Shepherd mix who was 100lbs. His name was Huckleberry. I loved taking him on walks, grooming/brushing him, and giving him lots of pets. My friends also hired me to take care of their dogs who ranged in different breeds and sizes. I also love taking pictures of all animals. You're sure to get some pretty pictures of your pooch! I am currently working part-time at The Maine Mall and have some free time to help out as much of the Portland dog loving community as possible. Dogs make me happy and feel good about what I do! I make sure your pet(s) are cared for by giving them plenty of water on walks, making sure they are not acting out of the norm (panting heavily/having heat exhaustion). I was working at a veterinary hospital in Chicagoland, so I feel confident at making sure your dog is well taken care of, kept hydrated, fed well, and that all the normal everyday tasks (peeing, pooping, breathing) are being well monitored. I will also send pictures/videos if I suspect something is not right/concerning. I hope to take care of your cute pooch soon!

About: I work at The Bark Yard, a fear and force free doggy daycare and boarding facility, where I care for dogs daily in a positive, stress-free environment. I’ve grown up with small to extremely large dogs—mainly Boston terriers and Great Pyrenees—and have hands-on experience with feeding, medication routines, enrichment, and reading canine body language. I also personally own and care for a cat, so I’m comfortable providing attentive, gentle care for both dogs and cats. Pet care is already a regular part of my daily and weekly routine. About: My pet care experience began when I was a child. Grew up having dogs and other pets in the house. It was the norm for me. That is until college came about and then moved to a large city. Having a pet wasn't viable during those years. This pattern broke when I found myself being asked to house sit for friends that I was also being asked to hang out with their pets while they were gone. I soon began to be a go to person for a few close friends to babysit their pets and plants. The skills that I have with pets are being able to understand them with body language. Hence the nick name dog whisperer. I am currently working part time and have Wednesdays and Thursdays, including the weekend available. Any time of the day of those specifically are perfectly feasible to accommodate care from me. I follow the diet guidelines given to me and don't alter from it. Outside of that, I make sure they are treated with love and attention throughout my time with them. Walks, play time, relax time...it all has a moment through within the day.

I’ve also cared for many cats ranging from 2 years old to 13 years old I’m a middle school teacher on summer break with A LOT of availability. I regularly free weekdays during the day through the evening and even available at night and through the night most days of the week. I have a large fenced in yard with that’s mostly shaded by surrounding trees. With easy access from a back deck. We also have a screened in porch for good airflow on hotter days.
