“Cara has been absolutely wonderful with Frita Beans! Frita can be a little timid at times, but Cara’s patience and gentle approach have helped her feel comfortable and happy on their walks. I feel completely at ease knowing Frita is in such good hands. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and kind dog walker!”

“Caroline is wonderful - for every walk she has provided great pictures and details of how things are going. She’s taken our dog for many walks, and we hope to schedule many more!”

I also offer dog walking and 30 to 60-minute home visits at your location. About: I’m a student at the University of Vermont who currently lives in Burlington. I’m trying to make money for college and I know that this job would be perfect for me! I’ve had a dog my whole life, and I’ve absolutely adored taking care of them. I’m good with all types as well, I currently have a low-energy chocolate lab mix and a high-energy rescue as well. I can deal quite easily with messes and certain necessities like diapers/medications/dietary needs. If your dog is reactive, I know lots about that as well and am willing to do anything to make them more comfortable. My current course schedule is very laid back, so I have plenty of free time to take care of your animals! I’m free essentially every day, bedsides Mondays. My 2 dogs currently have a fenced in backyard which they love to use to play fetch. I have a dual-ended leash as well for walks with them both. I throughly enjoy taking them out to trails for new scenery as well! I often bring collapsible water bowls and such on walks as well. I love taking pictures of animals, so you’ll certainly get updates from me! If you ever want to FaceTime me to see how your pet is doing as well, I’m totally fine with that! I’m open to just about anything :)
About: Hey! Im Skye! I’m a senior at the university of Vermont studying political science and history. I’ve had pets from gerbils to horses my entire life and have cared for pets with special needs, disabilities, and aggression. I would love to spend some quality time with your pup or kitty whether it be snuggling all day or going for a hike! My number one priority is your pet’s safety and well being. —— Open to boarding smaller or low energy dogs, must be okay with cat in house. My schedule varies, but I work from home most of the time. If im watching your pup it will be a day I work from home so I can give them attention throughout the day. If watching a pet in your home, I follow the provided instructions, while ensuring to keep everything clean and tidy. If boarding in my home, your pet is welcome to the entire apartment, when supervised, and will mostly hang out in the living room or my room. Pets are allowed on couches and beds. We do have a cat in the home that will ignore the dog as long as it is not aggressive towards her.
About: At home (Corinth, VT), I have grown up with 30 chickens, 3 sheep, a dog, and now 3 cats (we had 5 at one point!). I have experience dog sitting for multiple weeks at a time, dog walking, and am patient with anxious, easily aggravated, and loud dogs. I currently work in the mornings on Saturdays, but am free the rest of the week to tend to pets' needs! I love going for walks so an active dog is right up my alley, however I have plenty of experience with less active dogs as well (my family had a 16 y.o. chocolate lab). I have cared for multiple pets while their owners were on vacation in-home, however, I also have experience caring for a cat for 3 weeks on a drop-in basis. I am responsible with keys, as I have sat for homes in both rural environments as well as in Boston, MA.

“Daniel has been walking my dog 2x daily as I recover from an illness and he has been fantastic. Always on time, very gentle, they have great walks with training - a great helping I am grateful.”

About: I have grown up with and taken care of pets my entire life. I love spending time with and find peace among dogs, cats, and chickens! I am a current part-time student and employee. I have the most consistent availability in the early mornings (6am-8am) and over the weekend. I can be flexible if needed! I am adaptable and take a calm and patient approach when meeting a pet to whom I am a new person. I understand that trust is mutual and takes time!
About: I’ve been surrounded by dogs nearly my entire life, and have served as one of the primary caretakers in my family for almost all of the dogs we’ve had. I’ve taken care of dogs of all types and ages from puppies to seniors and chihuahuas to huskies I work on a contract basis and have more free time than time I’m working. I often have full weeks off and can spend that whole time with your pets. I have a cozy apartment with plenty of space for a dog, big or small. I have room to put a crate or dog bed if needed. I’d also feel comfortable staying in your home if that’s what is best for you and your dog.

About: My name is Amelia and I am in college studying animal sciences. I have experience with dogs walking, cat and fish care, and would love to help you and your pets out in any way I can! I’m currently a full time student, so I can pop in and out mid morning and in between classes throughout the week. I will make sure the animal gets a good chunk of my time and attention and will make sure not to rush them. It’s important the animal is safe and stimulated while I am with them. If I am dropping in to feed or take care of your pet I will ensure a clean environment and that they are enriched until a caretaker returns. If I am taking your pet on a walk I will cater to the dogs temperament and endurance. The pet’s experience (and their bathroom/food needs) is optimized.
“Eric really saved us on a last minute booking. He took AMAZING care of our Husky and took him on some great walks. We are so grateful for him and we will definitely rebook in the future! Thank you, Eric!”
About: Hi! I have been taking care of animals for years whether it’s training, dog-walking, fostering, or dropping in to dog or cat sit. I am a college student entering my third year at UVM. I am also an owner to 3 amazing cats and 1 dog at home. I have dealt with young puppies and my step-father himself is a dog trainer. I have learned a lot from both him and taking care of various family, friends, and neighbors pets. I am eager to spend some time with your pets and make sure they feel happy, healthy, safe, and spoiled like I treat my own. Currently as I am living in Burlington and just unwinding I am available during the weekdays and can be flexible with my schedule as things come up! In a clients home I will care for pets like my own but with any instructions, quirky dinner routines, or mandatory bedtime belly rubs needed. Even if you have a puppy or kitten and have no routine at all yet I can be flexible with that!
About: Growing up in rural Vermont, my household was equal parts animals and humans. From an early age, I learned the care and attention that goes into caring for pets from the time they are an energetic puppy to well into their silver years. I’m well equipped to handle potting training, medication feeding, and leash pulling. Fun fact! My first job was as a neighborhood dog walker and my catch phrase was “Lydia B walking” because my last name starts with a B! I'm currently a student and I'm most available during the mornings on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Depending on the distance and public transit accessibility, I could be more available! When it comes to caring for other people’s pets, I treat every pet like they’re my own. Which means making sure they are happy, healthy, and safe even after walk time is over. I understand and fully respect that your pet is part of your home and as such, I will follow every aspect of your (and their) routine. In your home, I will make sure doors, gates, and crates are secure, and I always leave things just the way I found them (or better!). I love getting to know each pet’s unique personality, and I’ll keep you in the loop with plenty of updates, pics, and funny moments along the way. You can relax knowing your furry friend is in good hands—and probably having a blast.

About: Hi! I work from home and make my own schedule so I’m able and happy to be at your pups beck and call/woof?! My Husky-lab mix, Duke, which I had for 10 years changed my life. Besides the experience of caring for him, and his issues with arthritis, along with his stubborn Husky streak, I’ve also cared for many of my friend’s dogs in various capacities. I recently lost him which has now given me the motivation and time to pursue spending it with other’s dogs. That’s as simply as I can put it. I have the time to be with your dog when you can’t and promise you he will get the most personal and attentive care you could want. I love walking, hiking, a vigorous game of catch, a downtown stroll on Church Street, or doing whatever your dog wants to do - I have the time and the love to do it. So as of now there are no other dogs at home; your dog will literally be part of the family and have 24-hour company and supervision, except perhaps an hour or two for errands. I don’t have a yard but a small balcony, but I am a 5-minute walk from the green path, North Beach, Arm’s Forest, Ethan Allen Park, Leddy Park and I have a dog-safe vehicle to travel anywhere, if your pup likes a nice drive. I also have A/C for those hot summer months! They’re also allowed on the furniture and beds. I’ve had years of experience taking care of all of my friend’s dogs; walking and sitting … but always for love not for a fee, hence why there are no ‘paid’ reviews. Happy to answer any questions. I work from home and my schedule is completely flexible and will revolve around your pets; that’s it. I’m at home full time except for an hour or two to run errands. I have a 3-story townhouse with balcony. Your dog will have run of the house but if stairs are an issue, he can be contained to the main level, if necessary. I can gate the stairs. Your dog is allowed on beds and furniture and outside on balcony when I’m home. There are no other dogs here.
About: I have a great amount of experience with animals. I have cared for Bunnies,Rats, Birds, Reptiles, Cats and dogs as well. I’m familiar with treating senior dogs and cats. As well as younger animals. I’ve had animals my entire life. Starting May 15th. I will have a flexible availability. I would fit pet sitting into my daily/ weekly routine but ensuring all animals are fed and have water. I will give them some play time. If walks are needed I will ensure I arrive earlier to give any dogs walks. I have two cats. Athena and Vixen Both girls are on a strict routine. They get fed wet food twice a day and dry food once. Their wet food includes multivitamins, probiotics and allergy medications. Both cats have separate diets that best suit their needs. I ensure all things for them are done before starting my day. e.i Litterboxes, water refills, medications, food and play time. Upon arriving home I greet them and play for about 30min-1hr.

About: I love pets. Ever since I was little, playing with my pets and taking care of them gave me a sense of importance. To help do so for members of my community would be a great way to reconnect with the simple pleasures of quality pet time. I currently work full-time 4 days a week. The other three days of the week I have incredible flexibility. On the days that I do work, I can flexible in the mornings until 12, 12:30 latest. I will be unable to have pets at my own home due to landlord requests. But, I have ample experience walking dogs and ensuring they are properly supervised. I also am incredibly active and a strong individual, callable of heavy lifting and can mitigate any dragging from a leash.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Burlington
Casey did a wonderful job walking our dog Jax while I was away on a five-day business trip. Her help was a huge support to my wife while I was gone, and we really appreciated having someone so dependable caring for Jax each day. It quickly became clear how much Jax liked and trusted Casey. He figured out when she would arrive and would sit by the window looking out expectantly for her each day. Casey was great to work with from start to finish. She came to our house beforehand for a meet-and-greet with Jax, and she provided thoughtful updates after every walk. It gave us real peace of mind knowing Jax was so happy and well cared for. We would gladly work with Casey again and highly recommend her.

Gabrielle is kind, reliable, communicative and clearly has a natural way with dogs. My dog felt comfortable with her right away, which says something because he can be wary of new people. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in such great hands. Gabrielle went above and beyond and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog walker. At the end, my dog wanted to stay with her…the ultimate endorsement!

Sarah has taken Remi for two walks recently and is wonderful with her! Remi is a rescue with her own particular issues and Sarah is patient with her, gives me updates and pics of their time together . Already booked Sarah for house sitting for our upcoming vacations 😊

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
