About: I am a Ph.D. student in Animal Welfare and former emergency veterinary assistant, I provide experienced, compassionate care for pets of all ages. I've cared for senior and disabled dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, and goats, and my wildlife rehabilitation experience helps me recognize signs of illness, injury, and stress. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide care throughout the day. I'm available for morning, afternoon, and evening walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and plenty of attention, so I can easily adapt to your pet's normal routine. I prefer caring for pets in my clients' homes because they're usually most comfortable in their own familiar environment. I follow your pet's normal routine, including feeding, walks, medications, playtime, and plenty of affection, while keeping your home clean and providing regular updates for peace of mind.
“Sarah took great care of our sweet and sensitive kitty. He warmed right up to her and we loved receiving videos of him purring away while we were gone. We felt assured that he was in good hands.”

“We had such a wonderful experience with Lianna. She sent lots of photos which our whole family loved to see. It was great knowing that our puppy was getting lots of love while we were away. She took him out for several adventures and left our home cleaner than when we left.”

“We've used Matt's services in our home several times now and will continue to. Our pets are well loved while we're away (pics to prove it) and very relaxed when we return. Thanks Matt!”
“Disa took great care of our boys and house while we were away for the weekend. She was very easy to work with and provided regular updates as well as photos. Highly recommend working with Disa!”
“Jillian was great. She was calm and patient with our anxiety mutt. We wanted to see if our dog could handle a sitter (he's timid and very scared of strangers) and she gave him the best possible first experience. He chose to go be in another room from her and she let him chill but checked on him periodically. Exactly what he needed. Apparently our cats had no such need for space and kept her company. Thanks Jillian.”

“Haley did a great job house sitting my puppy while I was out for a few hours. She was communicative ahead of time, arrived on time, and provided updates with photos throughout.”

“Jessie was fantastic rolling with our quirks of leaving our 11 week old puppy for a few hours. She was excellent on her communication and sent lots of pictures. Can’t wait to have her back again.”

“Chris was diligent, thoughtful and caring for my two dogs. He even sent videos of the dogs playing with Chris and their toys. He did all of the extra things I asked him to do. When I reached out to him by text he responded almost immediately. And he investigated and fixed the internet problem! I give him 5 stars because he deserves it!”

“Abigail did a fantastic job with our two dogs and was wonderful to communicate with. She also did a great job with some last minute medication needs. We will be booking again and would highly recommend her as a dog and house sitter. Our dogs were super happy when we returned after our week away. Thank you Abigail!”

“Super polite and accommodating and bonded query quickly with our dog, Sophie. Andrew was also house sitting with Sophie and we barely knew he was here as he cleaned up behind himself and left lights on for us as we arrived home late. I will use Andrew again in the future, thank you Andrew”

“Alex was great with our dog Casey and she appeared to be very well cared and content for while we were away for our trip! We also appreciated Alex’s communication and her updates throughout the trip.”

About: I have experience caring for all kinds of animals with different needs, personalities, and routines. I also work at a veterinary clinic, where I’ve gained hands-on experience with animal care, including administering medications. My veterinary experience helps me provide attentive, knowledgeable care for puppies, seniors, and pets requiring extra support. I work during the week, but I love spending my weekends caring for pets. Pet sitting fits naturally into my schedule and gives me the opportunity to spend my free time doing something I genuinely enjoy while providing pets with loving, attentive care. I tailor my care to each pet’s individual needs and routine. Before starting, I like to meet the pet and visit the client’s home to learn their schedule, habits, feeding instructions, and preferences. I then make a specific plan to fit their routine and make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for.

“Bailey was wonderful while we were away during fireworks weekend in Burlington VT. Our 7 year old black lab greyhound is an anxious boy and very skittish with the booms and the bangs. Bailey kept him calm and relaxed without all the meds we suggested merely with her own relaxed self and a bit of music playing in the background. We received updated texts and photos helping us not to worry, our boy has a new friend and we have an excellent sitter. Reach out to her, she’s communicative, reliable and personable. You’ll appreciate her as much as we did!”

“Kristen was right on time! We had a nice meet and greet with Bruno. She was very sweet and gentle with Bruno. He is timid because we just rescued him last year. We are working on him to trust her. Definitely will have her back.”

“Truly Exceptional Care! I cannot recommend Ally enough! She took amazing care of my mini dachshund, Ponyo, during his boarding stay. She went above and beyond—bringing him along to social outings with friends and even to her study sessions, which Ponyo absolutely loved and truly appreciated. Not only was Ally amazing, but her roommates also pitched in with his care, giving him extra company, attention, and affection. Ponyo thrives around people, and their home truly felt like a loving and caring environment for any dog. Ally consistently sent updates and photos, and it was obvious how comfortable and happy Ponyo was with her. When I picked him up, he immediately looked back for her—he clearly bonded with her and missed her the moment we left. She handled everything with kindness and professionalism. From his feeding routine to his dachshund-specific needs, she kept him safe, loved, and entertained. I boarded Ponyo with her and would 100% book with Ally again whenever I need help. If you’re looking for someone who treats your dog like their own, truly look no further—Ally is amazing! 💛🐾”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Burlington
Sonja was amazing with our energetic and anxious pupper. She gave frequent updates on how he was doing, reached out when Baxter had a scrape, went after a package and was eating less than normal. She worked through our changes in schedule and sitting by him to make sure he ate. It was a wonderful experience and helped us relax on vacation.

Sofia was so kind and patient with our 3 dogs who have a variety of needs, including some intense anxiety. They can be difficult to take care of and she handled it thoughtfully and skillfully. She communicated frequently and sent pictures. House was just as we left it when we arrived home. Sofia clearly loves dogs and is a caring person. We’ll definitely hire her again.

Nathaniel was an absolute gem! Even before booking, he seemed genuinely excited to meet and care for my two dogs. When he came over for a meet and greet, I could tell he was absolutely a dog person. The girls truly enjoyed their time with him. We also appreciated how flexible he was with our booking ! We will absolutely rebook him in the future. :)

Highly recommend Esme for house/pet sitting! We felt safe knowing our kitty, home, and plants were in her kind, capable care. A responsive and clear communicator, Esme kept us up-to-date with daily photos and check-ins. And our cat adored her, snuggling up on her lap within days of meeting (though he will typically only do so with mom). Thank you, Esme!

We had such a wonderful experience with Lianna. She sent lots of photos which our whole family loved to see. It was great knowing that our puppy was getting lots of love while we were away. She took him out for several adventures and left our home cleaner than when we left.

Oliver was very communicative and went above and beyond in terms of communicating about how our dog was doing. He also watered our plants for us while we were gone. He was respectful of our house and left it even better than he found it. One night, Oliver reached out as he was concerned that our dog was uncomfortable due to their level of whimpering. His communication allowed us to keep a close eye on her upon our return. We ended up taking her to the vet and she had a UTI. If it weren’t for Oliver reaching out about her whimpering, we maybe wouldn’t have noticed other symptoms.

Abigail did a fantastic job with our two dogs and was wonderful to communicate with. She also did a great job with some last minute medication needs. We will be booking again and would highly recommend her as a dog and house sitter. Our dogs were super happy when we returned after our week away. Thank you Abigail!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Burlington walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Burlington maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Burlington choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
