About: My partner Jack and I love caring for pets! Both of us have been caretakers for pets practically our whole lives, including senior pets and pets with special needs, in addition to small animals like rodents and birds. Whoever you need help with, we’re more than capable. We are so excited to get to know your pets. With us, your pets will get all the attention and exercise they need during your busy day. We are both very attentive to your pets needs and do our best to make them feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. We know just how important your companion is to you, so safety is taken into consideration at all times. We keep dogs on leashes at all times when letting them go outside. I work as a barista at a coffee shop and Jack is an employee at Pitt. Together our schedules allow us to have at least 1 person home for most of the day. On rare occasions when neither of us are home, at most we are away for 3-4 hours. We have a large yard with a lead and 2 cats. Our house is moderately sized, with room for playing and relaxing. We are attentive to feeding schedules and potty breaks.
“Jagger had a nice first walk/stroll with Lara. She communicated well and followed the tips we discussed at the meet and greet. He looks forward to their next walk. Thanks!”

About: I am a current kennel attendant at Camp Bow Wow and a volunteer at Kitty Queen Cat Rescue for many years! I have plenty of experience with all ages and breeds of animals! I am completely available outside of my doggie daycare schedule! It does change weekly, but I don’t mind squeezing your pets into my schedule! I am very well educated on the love and care that our furbabies need to thrive! I pride myself in my commitment to building a trust filled relationship with every animal I come across!
“Maryann has been an absolute blessing! To find someone that appreciates all the sweet things about our Pup and treats him with such kindness and care means we have someone to help provide our doggo with dog walking when we really need it. She is so attentive and sweet to check in with me first before doing something. It’s lovely to have someone we trust so much, highly recommend!! (And thanks Maryann for everything you do for us and our fur baby!)”

“It was our first time using Rover and Lindsey was an excellent companion and dog walker for our pit bull mix! Her report after each visit was thorough and usually included an extra anecdote about their time together and great pictures! Lindsey very concerned and asked for our advice when our dog wasn't eating much food when we initially left. We appreciated her initiative. When there was a big rain storm and they couldn't walk outside, Lindsey spent the time playing with our dog inside and gave him the attention and exercise that he needed. Overall a great experience and highly recommend Lindsey!”

“Zachary's first walk with Jagger was a success! He had excellent communication and kept me updated with pics. It was clear my dog had a wonderful time because he was in a great mood when I got home. Highly recommended.”

About: As someone who is always trying to live vicariously through dog owners, I have been a reliable and eager puppy and cat sitter since I was young - for friends, coworkers, neighbors, and extended family. I have experience and am comfortable feeding and exercising large and small dogs, puppies and seniors. I have always had cats, and have plenty of experience with administering oral medicines and asthma treatment. I am comfortable with cleaning messes, longterm stays, overnights, and honestly whatever else is needed during your time away. I would love to send pictures and updates of your pets as much as you would like them - your pets become main characters in my life within minutes of meeting them! I am your introverted, nurturing childless millennial that treats every animal with endless attention and love. As a speech-language pathologist, I also think that understanding animal communication and respecting boundaries are key. If your pet is showing me they need space, I will listen to them and make sure they are well fed, their needs are met and a soft presence is near. If they are showing me that they need more love and attention, I will stay and give them more love and attention! I can’t wait to meet your furry family. Right now, my schedule is wonderfully flexible. I’m a teacher on summer break and transitioning into a teletherapy position, so I have plenty of availability to care for your pets throughout the day. I believe pets are happiest when their routines stay as consistent as possible, so I make it a priority to learn each pet’s normal schedule, preferences, personality, and needs before their owner leaves. In a client’s home, I carefully follow feeding schedules, refresh water, clean litter boxes and outdoor areas as needed, administer medications when required, and make sure pets receive the exercise, enrichment, affection, and companionship they have when you’re home. I pay close attention to body language, behavior changes, appetite, energy levels, and overall well-being. As a speech-language pathologist, communication is a big part of my professional life, and I bring that same attentiveness to the animals in my care. I believe good pet care means respecting boundaries, recognizing needs, and responding appropriately to what an animal is communicating. I also love sending photos and updates, because I know how reassuring it is to see your pet happy and comfortable while you’re away. My goal is always to provide a safe, calm, loving environment and to care for your pets the same way I would hope someone would care for my own.
About: For the past 10 plus years, I have volunteered at a local animal shelter, where I care for dogs by walking and feeding them. I have been a lifelong dog owner, and I currently have two dogs: a dachshund and a medium-sized Labrador/Pit Bull mix. Spending time with dogs is something I enjoy, and caring for them is rewarding. Their companionship brings me a great deal of happiness. I am available during the day as well as in the evenings. Anytime after 5pm is perfect for me! I can do weekend mornings and days as well. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my dogs, especially playing with their favorite toys. We often play with a ball outside and enjoy relaxing together in the sunshine.
About: I have been helping to take care of animals of all kinds since I got my first dog at 5 years old. Now 21, I have over 15 years of animal care experience by helping the pets of family, friends, and neighbors. I am accustomed to training new pets and ensuring that senior pets get the best care they need. I can walk, feed, play, and do anything you may need to ensure that your pet is well taken care of while you are away. I am currently working part time, which entails that I have a very flexible schedule and am able to make anything work. I am willing to sit at my own residence and yours. I also have experience with house sitting. I am so excited to get to work caring for your furry friends! My schedule is very flexible which means I have plenty of time to spare on making sure your pets are okay and taken care of. I do work mostly in the evenings, only about 2-3 days a week but am never there past 8pm. I am essentially open from morning until evening nearly all day every day. My backyard is fenced off and has two levels ensuring that your pets have plenty of room to run and play! I also have a dog of my own to make sure your pet has someone to play with. My house is very secure and has lots of friendly neighbors with their own pets who would love to play and meet yours. “Chris walked our dogs while we were out of town, and my mother in law was watching them. He was super communicative with me and patient with her. I was anxious about leaving my dogs, but Chris really eased a lot of my anxiety! My male shepherd can be reactive with strangers, especially men, and Chris was calm, patient, and understanding with gaining Remi’s trust. I booked Jessicah to walk Ivory my 5 year old high energy husky mix while I recovered from knee surgery. Her reviews were excellent but the deciding factor was her location, near to my home. She has been walking Ivory now for 2 months and she has won both Ivory’s and my heart. I trust her completely with Ivory. Not only is she a caring animal person she also has an upbeat happy attitude. I know she walks several dogs a day but she greets Ivory as if she is the only dog she walks. Ivory loves their time together and watches at the window for her. If you are looking for a person to take care of your much loved pet when you can’t I would highly recommend Nicole & Jessicah.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
