Maryann has been an absolute blessing! To find someone that appreciates all the sweet things about our Pup and treats him with such kindness and care means we have someone to help provide our doggo with dog walking when we really need it. She is so attentive and sweet to check in with me first before doing something. It’s lovely to have someone we trust so much, highly recommend!! (And thanks Maryann for everything you do for us and our fur baby!)

It was our first time using Rover and Lindsey was an excellent companion and dog walker for our pit bull mix! Her report after each visit was thorough and usually included an extra anecdote about their time together and great pictures! Lindsey very concerned and asked for our advice when our dog wasn't eating much food when we initially left. We appreciated her initiative. When there was a big rain storm and they couldn't walk outside, Lindsey spent the time playing with our dog inside and gave him the attention and exercise that he needed. Overall a great experience and highly recommend Lindsey!

Krista was great. Zoe immediately loved her and Coby didn’t mind the wake up call from the couch to meet his new friend. Dogs were walked, fed, and given treats as requested. Proper leash, walking perimeter followed, house locked, and key promptly returned. We even received a picture of the walk. Neither dog expressed any separation anxiety while their humans were on a day trip. I was super happy and will call on Krista in the future. Dogs give her 5 woofs!

Today my two angels had their first walk with Andy.I did careful research before entrusting my babies to anyone and I was very, very happy with Andy. I had concerns before hiring someone to walk my dogs and addressed all of them beforehand with Andy. I was pleasantly surprised to see that he already takes all of the precautions that I was concerned about... and more. My dogs loved him and can't wait to have more walks with him.

About: I’ve loved dogs and been surrounded for as long as I can remember: taking them on walks, teaching them tricks, and tending to their needs 🐾 So, I’d love to step in and help with yours whenever/whatever needed. I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule to tend to your dog. I would also be available on the weekends, to pet sit or help with caring for your pup. I work from home! Happy to board pets here if it’s a good fit! I can stop by or stay at your house to take care of your dog(s)!

About: I’ve been around animals for most of my life. I’m the friend people trust to take care of their dogs/cats while they go away. I’m adjustable to different breeds and needs. I will give them the attention and love they’re used to. I love going on walks so I will be just as excited to go! I am currently balancing being in school, but I am open to finding a time that works for both of us. Feel free to message me. ☺️ I understand every furry friend is different and I am adaptable to learn their routine! When I am in your home I will do what is possible to make them feel happy and safe.

I am very grateful to have found Robin. I have a senior, female pit bull, who was abused before I adopted her. Lily senses Robin's kind nature. She has taken to Robin as a new "best buddy". She's happy to go on walks with Robin and looks forward to her visits. Robin is attentive and a great listener. She is also very punctual, which I appreciate greatly. She has followed all of my instructions perfectly (a rare attribute these days). I have found Robin to be very trustworthy. I give her 5 stars and would give her a 10, if possible. If you want a trustworthy, affectionate and kind hearted sitter, hire Robin.

About: I love dogs and grew up with them! Though I don't have the space for them now, I've been missing some puppy playtime! Both of my parents are vets as well, so I'm also pretty well versed in all things pet care! I do work full-time, but a lot of my job can be done from home depending on the amount of notice I have before discussing that with my boss. That being said my weekends are pretty open as well as the occasional monday. I typically work from home every other monday! I love all animals! Growing up I had 2 dogs and then foster failed 2 cats! Those 2 cats currently live with my parents, but I'm bringing them up here when I move into my own place. Both of my roommates also have cats!

About: As someone who is always trying to live vicariously through dog owners, I have been a reliable and eager puppy and cat sitter since I was young - for friends, coworkers, neighbors, and extended family. I have experience and am comfortable feeding and exercising large and small dogs, puppies and seniors. I have always had cats, and have plenty of experience with administering oral medicines and asthma treatment. I am comfortable with cleaning messes, longterm stays, overnights, and honestly whatever else is needed during your time away. I would love to send pictures and updates of your pets as much as you would like them - your pets become main characters in my life within minutes of meeting them! I am your introverted, nurturing childless millennial that treats every animal with endless attention and love. As a speech-language pathologist, I also think that understanding animal communication and respecting boundaries are key. If your pet is showing me they need space, I will listen to them and make sure they are well fed, their needs are met and a soft presence is near. If they are showing me that they need more love and attention, I will stay and give them more love and attention! I can’t wait to meet your furry family. Right now, my schedule is wonderfully flexible. I’m a teacher on summer break and transitioning into a teletherapy position, so I have plenty of availability to care for your pets throughout the day. I believe pets are happiest when their routines stay as consistent as possible, so I make it a priority to learn each pet’s normal schedule, preferences, personality, and needs before their owner leaves. In a client’s home, I carefully follow feeding schedules, refresh water, clean litter boxes and outdoor areas as needed, administer medications when required, and make sure pets receive the exercise, enrichment, affection, and companionship they have when you’re home. I pay close attention to body language, behavior changes, appetite, energy levels, and overall well-being. As a speech-language pathologist, communication is a big part of my professional life, and I bring that same attentiveness to the animals in my care. I believe good pet care means respecting boundaries, recognizing needs, and responding appropriately to what an animal is communicating. I also love sending photos and updates, because I know how reassuring it is to see your pet happy and comfortable while you’re away. My goal is always to provide a safe, calm, loving environment and to care for your pets the same way I would hope someone would care for my own.

I booked Jessicah to walk Ivory my 5 year old high energy husky mix while I recovered from knee surgery. Her reviews were excellent but the deciding factor was her location, near to my home. She has been walking Ivory now for 2 months and she has won both Ivory’s and my heart. I trust her completely with Ivory. Not only is she a caring animal person she also has an upbeat happy attitude. I know she walks several dogs a day but she greets Ivory as if she is the only dog she walks. Ivory loves their time together and watches at the window for her. If you are looking for a person to take care of your much loved pet when you can’t I would highly recommend Nicole & Jessicah.

  • 91% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
