About: My childhood dog, Daisy, a Yorkie mix that I had for 17 years, was my best friend. As a child, I trained her, and as an adult, I had to make adjustments to her environment when her mobility, sight, and hearing became limited. That relationship instilled in me a lifelong love of dogs. I work full-time in development with a local nonprofit, but I have a flexible schedule that includes 2 remote days a week and free weekend availability. ***Please see my availability below before sending a booking request! Not seeing a date on my calendar or location range that works for you? Feel free to reach out, as I can update my calendar and travel distance if needed! Availability: Sunday - All day Monday - All day Tuesday - 6pm-10pm Wednesday 6pm-10pm Thursday - All day Friday 6pm-10pm Saturday - All day As a lifelong Pittsburgh resident and a Mt. Lebanon local for 7 years, I have extensive knowledge of dog-friendly areas and walking trails to support active dogs. As for senior dogs, I can also cater to their needs with less strenuous activities and one-on-one socialization at their own pace and comfort level. I also have personal pet sitter’s insurance, so you can book my services knowing that your pet will be in good hands.

It was our first time using Rover and Lindsey was an excellent companion and dog walker for our pit bull mix! Her report after each visit was thorough and usually included an extra anecdote about their time together and great pictures! Lindsey very concerned and asked for our advice when our dog wasn't eating much food when we initially left. We appreciated her initiative. When there was a big rain storm and they couldn't walk outside, Lindsey spent the time playing with our dog inside and gave him the attention and exercise that he needed. Overall a great experience and highly recommend Lindsey!

Elise is an amazing walker to have! I feel so happy to have found her through Rover. I feel very at ease leaving Josie behind knowing Elise is coming for her. Elise goes above and beyond with taking pictures and giving me updates on how she does during her walk. I would highly recommended using Elise, she is wonderful! Thank you so much for all you do with Josie!

About: I’ve taken care of small animals since I was a kid. I was always the student who volunteered to take the class pet home for extended breaks from school. Some of the animals I cared for included leopard geckos, hamsters, and Guinea pigs! I have loved animals ever since 😊 Besides class pets, I grew up babysitting my Aunt’s dog, Oscar, whenever she went on vacation or needed some extra help. I got my first dog when I was 12 and he’s still living with us today. I am offering all services for small to medium sized dogs. I am relatively free for dog care through Rover as I work a part time job in my spare time. I also used to have a job at a doggy daycare so I have plenty of experience with dog behavior :) I can assure you that daily walks and cuddles with your pup fit into my schedule <3 We have one small dog named Gizmo who is a 9 year old Shih-tzu mix. He is super friendly as he loves both people and dogs! We do not have a fenced yard but we regularly take trips to the local dog park. Additionally, we have a fenced deck where the dogs can get some fresh air. I know it can be intimidating to leave your pet with a stranger. As such, I try to make everyone feel welcome. I assure you that I am dedicated to your pet’s safety and well-being and promise to care for your pet as if they were my own. They will become a part of the furry family for the duration of their stay ♥️

About: I limit the number of pets so they get personalized love and attention. From shy senior cats to high-energy puppies, I have had and worked with all ages and needs. I provide frequent updates catered to the owner’s request. I like to build trust through consistence and long-term relationships so your pet sees a familiar face and is happy. I am retiring from teaching and will have a part time work-from-home job and will have plenty of time for love and cuddles with your pets. I walk several times a day so your dog (or walking cat), gets plenty of exercise. I have a fenced in covered patio so they get plenty of fresh air! Again, I walk several times a day, have a park at the end of my road, I have a fenced in patio and there is a dog park within walking distance of my home. If they ride well in a car, I will take them to a big park for walks and dog park socialization. I have had dogs since I was born and cats all of my adult life. I have watched many animals for friends, families, neighbors, etc. I have had rabbits, turtles, fish, iguanas as well. I have a special place in my heart for animals.

About: I have taken care of my dogs for about 12 years. I love all dogs big and small, long and short haired. I go on walks everyday and keep active. My favorite thing is to cuddle up with a dog after a long day. I can work 3-4 days a week during the day, and I am able to work all nights. My schedule is fairly flexible, and I can accommodate to others. I have an electric fence at my house, and a very well trained dog. I can listen to any and all rules at other clients’ houses. I give pets lots of love and activity. I feed and walk my dog twice a day. I clean up after him whenever it is needed. I wash him every month.

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life, especially cats and dogs, and I’ve always felt really comfortable with them. Growing up, pets were just part of daily life, so caring for animals has always come naturally to me. As a teenager, I used to walk a family friend’s dog, which I really enjoyed. It taught me how important patience, consistency, and trust are when working with animals. I also have a senior cat now who even moved across the country with me, so I’m very used to caring for pets that need routine and a gentle, steady approach. When I’m with dogs, I just try to keep things calm, safe, and positive. Whether it’s a walk, feeding, or hanging out for company, I treat every pet like they’re my own and make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. I’m flexible throughout the week and can adjust my schedule as needed for walks, check-ins, or drop-ins. I like keeping things consistent for pets, so I do my best to stick to their normal routine and times whenever possible. When caring for pets, I focus on keeping things calm, safe, and familiar for them. I always follow any instructions exactly as given, especially for feeding, walks, and routines. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of the space and make sure everything stays clean and as you left it. With pets, I take my time to build trust so they feel comfortable and secure while you’re away.

About: I've had cats for over 20 years, all of my adult life. I'm an expert at giving medications. I've also owned small and medium sized dogs. I subscribe to positive reinforcement training. I am independently bonded and insured. Please request more info if needed. I live in the heart of Dormont. Have experience with cats and small/medium dogs. I drive so no issues with transportation. My availability is open! I prefer to watch your pet(s) in your home. If you leave me a schedule, including food, treats, play, and walk times, I will stick to that precisely. I feel that pets not only need a routine, but they do much better in their own environment. If there's an emergency, I will be able to bring them to my home. Obviously communication will be key, and this is only for extenuating circumstances (if I feel they are unsafe due to unforeseen situations). My goal is to continue their established routine, so when you come home, there will be a smooth transition.

About: I’ve had dogs since the age of 12. I currently have a ten-year-old special needs chihuahua, a four-year-old pit bull, and a seven-year-old cat. I’m currently in a transition period while I change careers. I am not working and will be off school for the summer. This allows me open availability. I have experience with crate training, command words, and other approaches to caring for dogs that allow me to adopt to the owner’s needs.

I booked Jessicah to walk Ivory my 5 year old high energy husky mix while I recovered from knee surgery. Her reviews were excellent but the deciding factor was her location, near to my home. She has been walking Ivory now for 2 months and she has won both Ivory’s and my heart. I trust her completely with Ivory. Not only is she a caring animal person she also has an upbeat happy attitude. I know she walks several dogs a day but she greets Ivory as if she is the only dog she walks. Ivory loves their time together and watches at the window for her. If you are looking for a person to take care of your much loved pet when you can’t I would highly recommend Nicole & Jessicah.

Richard walked our two dogs for the first time recently and the experience exceeded my expectations. Both are extra large dogs--80 and 130 pounds. Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Dormont. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

  • 92% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
