“Liz was the absolute best! She took such good care of Bryn & sent so many pictures & videos while we were gone! She left our house even cleaner than we left it! Would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to spoil their dog! 😊”

“Taryn was a great sitter for my fairly new to me dog. It felt great leaving him in good hands. She communicated well, my dog was happy and she left my home very clean. Looking forward to having her sit for me again soon!”

“I am so grateful I found Michael to help take care of all my babies. Not only did he take incredible care of my large difficult dog, he also took great care of my bird, rabbit, and cat. He communicated well, sent pictures, and everything was perfect when I returned.”

“Amy did a wonderful job taking care of our dogs! She provided frequent updates and pictures while we were away. It was a comfort to know they were in such good hands. Hope to use her again!”

“My dog has been struggling with a back injury and additionally is extremely used to a routine with me as I work from home and am frequently present. The last time I left him with someone it didn’t go super well. This has been the opposite with Victoria. Upon returning I could tell she followed all instructions and that my dog was happy. I’m so grateful. She is also very professional with communicating well and respectful of your home - everything was so tidy and clean. I will be using her again.”

“Nathaniel was excellent. He watched our 6year old Golden, (Gracie) for one week at our home while we were on vacation. Our girl has a propensity for anxiety when we’re gone. Nathaniel buddied up to her immediately, becoming fast friends. I don’t think she hardly noticed we were gone… Not only was Gracie’s anxiety quelled, mine was as well. In addition to taking amazing care of her, he was very conscientious of our home, leaving it exactly as he found it, this included picking up behind Gracie in the backyard. Nathaniel was wonderful with Gracie and a pleasure to work with. I have great appreciation and respect for Nathaniel’s work ethic, and commitment in caring for our 4 legged family member.”

“Shelby is great! She watched my dog for a day while I was away. She took him on multiple walks, followed my instructions and sent me a lot of updates throughout the day. I felt that my dog was safe and in a good hands. Highly recommend Shelby!”

“Lauren was so amazing! She stayed at our house for a week with our two dogs while we were out of the country. We’ve never felt so good about being away from our pups. Lauren sent so many amazing updates and photos through the day. Cannot recommend Lauren enough!”

About: I have always had pets (cats and dogs) until I left Europe to travel 4 years ago. Since then, I have regularly pet and house sat for friends and through word-of-mouth. As I just moved to Bend to work for Heart of Oregon, I am looking for opportunities to pet-sit here. I'm easy-going and love playing, cuddling, and going on walks. I am currently working 8am to 4pm, but I can come back on my lunch break to check on them and let them out. I am very adaptable - whatever their need is, I can catter to it. I work 8 to 4:30 everyday, but could come by on my lunch break and am happy to play longer hours before and after work. I live in my van so I can easily move to a new place without impeding on space. I'm really organized and respectuous, and can easily comply to special needs.
“Lauren did an amazing job with our cat and two dogs! She sent us photos and updates throughout our trip and ensured that everyone was well taken care of. Also, she was super pleasant to communicate with! Cannot recommend her enough!”

“Christy was really great with our two pups while we traveled. She spent tons of time with them, took them on walks, and kept us updated with pics and videos. It was so nice to travel and not worry about our dogs!”

“Kelly took wonderful care of our three cats while we were away. She communicated frequently with updates, and our cats were very happy with her. We also came up to a spic and span house!”

“Kasey was incredible with our pups, Eddie and Jennie, while we were gone for five days. We told her all their little quirks and favorite things, and she was so thoughtful and accommodating with everything. She took them on hikes every day, planned play dates, sent us tons of pictures, and made sure they got all the cuddles they could ever want. We ended up having travel delays, and Kasey didn’t hesitate for a second she happily kept them an extra night and made the whole situation so much less stressful for us. We’d recommend Kasey over and over again. We’ll definitely be booking with her in the future! Thanks for being great Kasey 🤗”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Bend
We can always depend on Kaili! We feel completely comfortable leaving our dogs, one a willful puppy, in her care. They were well cared for an activity food and love. The house looks great when we get home and we are able to enjoy ourselves and not worry about anything.

Liz went above and beyond in every way: communication, care, and attention to detail. We have a high-energy, quirky 3-year-old cattle dog, Tuna, and she gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. She sent plenty of updates, left our house even cleaner than we left it, and even got Tuna a new leash when his old one broke. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the pets she watches. We couldn’t recommend Liz more highly and would absolutely book her again!

Carly is incredibly professional and will take great care of your pets. She was so sweet to do a meet and greet with our pets. She followed our directions to a tee, and she left our house spotless. Our pets were in great spirits when we got home. You should hire Carly in a heartbeat 🙂

Nate took amazing care of Koda and Jade while I was away for the weekend in Seattle! He sent lots of updates and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind knowing they were happy and well cared for. I came home to two very happy, relaxed pets, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. This was by far the best pet-sitting experience I’ve had, and I’ll absolutely be booking Nate again. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, attentive, and genuinely caring!

Lauren is fantastic! She is prompt with communication and checked in the day before her arrival to make sure her check-in time was still going to be ok. She sent pictures and notes to reassure us that the 3 dogs were being well cared for and enjoying time with Lauren. She double checked with us, as well, on her day of departure to make certain her leave time was going to be ok. She is very professional and great what she does. We will definitely reach out to her again for any future pet sitting adventures.

Shelby was fabulous! Great communication and she sent many great videos and photos so I knew my dog was well-cared for and having a good time. House was sparkling clean and everything in order when I returned. I can’t recommend her highly enough. Thanks so much Shelby!

Abby is fantastic! She did a wonderful job watching my two doodle dogs and elderly cat for a week. She took the dogs out for off leash walks and gave kitty his daily medicines. She was also kind enough to do some plant watering too. I came home to happy pets and a clean house. I will certainly have her pet sit first me again.

Amy did a wonderful job of taking care of my dog Dolly. I came home to a clean apartment and got good updates and photos while I was away. She even took the time to meet beforehand to get to know Dolly and asked a lot of good questions about her routine. Will definitely book with Amy again!

Flannery was wonderful with my dog and sent pictures every day. When I returned home my pup was very happy and looked great - my home was spotless and Flannery stripped the bed and washed the sheets in the room she stayed in. I am asking her to stay again the next time I have to go out of town!!!

Lauren was great to work with! She came to meet our rambunctious pup first, then house sat for a few days for us. She provided updates daily, walked and took our pup on an adventure, and made us feel totally reassured while we were away. I would 100% recommend her to anyone!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Bend on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bend walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bend maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bend choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
