“So glad we found Kaili. We have a very nervous/anxious pup who takes a long time to warm up to a new person. Kaili was very patient with him and gave us honest updates. She went above and beyond with doing cleaning and laundry. Felt very safe trusting her with both our house and our fur baby!”

“Anna took great care of my pup. She was always on time, responded quickly, and sent me lots of pictures while she was house sitting so I knew that everything was ok. I would definitely use her again!”

“Abbey took extra good care of Scuffer who had a paw injury and had to wear a cone. She gave me lots of updates and pictures which I really appreciated. My dogs seemed happy and my house was in good shape when I got home. Thanks Abbey!”

I am a dog owner of a blue heeler border collie mix and a dachshund! So I am experienced with different types of dogs when it comes to their energy levels and needs! I have helped take care of a variety of different breeds, and it's so fun to get to know a dog's personality! My work is very flexible, so I am available in the mornings, evenings, and depending on the day, I can be available mid-day! I am fully available on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday! I will respect your home as if it is my own! I will care for the pets by taking them to do what they love to do!

“Taryn is amazing! We traveled to Florida and being so far away always worry. She was so responsive and sent us lots of updates. We felt at ease that she was there for us! Will definitely use her again and again!”

“Fleur is hands down our favorite pet sitter! She gives so much care to Rigley and he always comes home in great spirits. On this last visit, he was showing her signs of pain from a pre-existing injury and Fleur gave us a clear description of his symptoms, worked with us on a vet visit, and administered new prescribed medication. She even put a heating pad on Rigley’s injury and gave him a comforter to lay on. I mean….! Fleur is our most rebooked sitter for a reason! We are so grateful to her.”

“Mashawna took wonderful care of our dog. She was very sweet and kind and sent lots of pictures and went the extra step to provide good care while we were gone on a last-minute trip. Thank you for such great care of Aurora.”

“I am so grateful and fortunate to have found Michael to help me feel safe and secure knowing my little man is in the best hands! 5 stars are just not enough!!! Thank you again and I would recommend him for anyone who needs a reliable and respectful home sit for your fur babies.”

“We felt very comfortable entrusting our quirky senior dog to Vivian. It is clear Vivian gave her lots of love and she communicated well during our 2 week trip. The house was left in great condition.”

“Elizabeth was AWESOME !! She took exceptional care of my dog while I was away for 2 weeks. Liz sent photos, videos and updates daily so I could feel connected to him even while away. From the meet and greet to the actual stay she was super professional: detail oriented, organized and excellent communicator. She left the house and yard cleaner than when I left. And it obvious from the get-go that she just loves dogs! I will use her again in a heartbeat.”

“Victoria made me feel so comfortable watching my husky while I was out of service camping. She even introduced him to her husky, and they became friends (and he is not the most friendly with other dogs all the time). Would definitely recommend her!”
“Mara did an amazing job watching our dog for a long weekend and left our home nice and tidy. She was professional, communicative, and knowledgeable from the very start. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a petsitter!”

“Halley was wonderful. She house/dog sit for me and was great with communication -asking needs, preferences, and confirming considerations. I greatly appreciated it. She met Wally, she met me, took a walk through and I appreciated her flexibility and willingness to be prompt and available. I would love to have her care take again and use her services 😊 I recommend for others easily”

“Karina was great. Very communicative, offered a meet-and-greet before booking the stay, and sent lot's of images and videos throughout the stay. She went above and beyond in sending overviews of her walks and extra videos. Came home to a happy and healthy pup, clean house, and would definitely use her again.”

“Leslie is a wonderful dog sitter! She took great care of our two Giant Breed dogs. I really appreciated how she kept us up to date with photos and notes. The dogs loved her and we look forward to having her sit again!”

About: My parents bred Golden Retrievers when I was a young child, and I have loved and had dogs since I was born. Barb, a 120lb Rottweiler/Mastiff, is our current companion after losing Richard, our 165lb St. Bernard. Now that my husband and I are empty-nesters, and now that I am retired (for the time being) I'm excited to take care of other dogs. I'm skilled at dog training and love dogs of all shapes, sizes, breeds and demeanors. Walking/hiking is one of my favorite past times. I'm excited for the opportunity to take care of your pooch! I am currently “retired” and have an extremely flexible schedule when I am not traveling. When I am in the Fairbanks area I should be able to help care for your dog most days/times. I have two fully fenced back yards. Barb (my dog) loves all dogs, and it is just Barb, my husband, and myself living in our home right now. I'm happy to accommodate the needs of your dog by keeping them at our house, going to your home, and/or taking them for a walk/hike/potty break. I also enjoy training puppies.
“Joann did a great job taking care of our pups and house on our recent trip. We received pics or video everyday and came home to a clean house and happy pups. It was so nice to have peace of mind and not have to worry about anything while we were gone.”

“Nathaniel is such caring lovely soul… we appreciate all the attention our cats and home received daily!! Receiving daily updates and photos from Nathaniel were also very special touch which made being far away much more enjoyable for us. You’d feel lucky too to have Nathaniel care for your animals at your home.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Bend
Chaundra is great, she helped me out on very short notice and is a perfect substitute kitty mom for our cat Guapo. We arrived home to a relaxed and well behaved pet, and he clearly enjoyed his play time based on the photos and videos I received. I would definitely book Chaundra again in the future.

Kaili was a wonderful house sitter. She took fantastic care of our Gus, which we could tell from the photos and updates she sent while we were out of the country. He looked like a happy boy. She also took great care of the house and even the vegetable garden, harvesting produce as it ripened. We would highly recommend Kaili!

David was responsible, communicative and attentive to Abbot. He sent photos of Abbot at home and on walks during the tine I was traveling. I know Abbot was sad to see him go. He does get attached to pet sittters. He is a caring and sensitive dog. House was neat and clean when I arrived home. Thank you, David!
Abby is so wonderful! I am a very anxious pet parent, so traveling is never easy but Abby's communication was unlike any other pet sitter I've experienced which gave me peace of mind and completely eased my anxiety and i knew Bean was in good hands while i was away. I will definitely be using her services again and highly recommend her! Thanks Abby!!

Kevin took great care of our home and our two kitties! His communication is wonderful, and we were able to see many photos of our two girls having meals and playing while we were away. We loved having Kevin take care of our home, too. I highly recommend Kevin, and will have him stay with our girls whenever possible!

July was wonderful! From the second I met her I felt totally at ease and confident about her taking care of my babies. She did a check in as soon as she arrived, with pictures and an update, and I’m sure she would have continued to do so, but I told her not to worry about it. She always responded quickly when I’d reach out, and everything went smoothly. The dogs were happy when I got home and the house was tidy and how I left it. I’d definitely ask her to come back in the future!

Avery was absolutely incredible, and we truly couldn’t recommend her more highly. We have anxious, reactive dogs, so finding someone we feel completely comfortable leaving them with is not always easy. From the beginning, Avery’s experience and training in dog behavior immediately put us at ease. She understood our dogs, respected their individual needs, and was such a calm, confident presence for them. Even when some unexpected things came up in Avery’s personal life during our trip, she still went above and beyond to make sure our dogs were cared for and that we felt reassured. Her communication was wonderful, and as admittedly anxious dog parents, it meant so much to know they were in such capable and caring hands. It’s very clear that Avery genuinely understands dogs, especially dogs who may need a little extra patience and support. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pups, and we would trust her with them again in a heartbeat. We feel incredibly lucky to have found her!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bend walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bend maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bend choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
