“Amy is terrific and continues to be my first choice in caring for Zoey and my home when I’m away! I get daily updates and photos, and return to a happy dog and well cared for house.”

“Kelly is the best! She and our young cat took to each other immediately and our little Guapo now has a new best friend. Kelly helped with some requested training and we came home to a very sweet and loving pet, which says a lot about her care. She’’s a clean and courteous house guest, kept plants watered, and let us know of a home need, much appreciated. I will definitely book Kelly again!”

“Our boy Basie had another great visit with Fleur. She has a very watchful eye and noticed he was not feeling well. She was great communicating his symptoms and working together on food options to ease his upset stomach. Basie can be a scavenger and no doubt ate something when I took him out before we left town. Fleur gave him lots of TLC while he was on the mend and kept a keen eye for any unusual behaviors. It gave me a great peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. We came home to a happy dog who was back to his usual silly and active self.”

“Victoria was one of the best sitters I’ve had. She’s friendly, communicative, & trustworthy. Most importantly my pup loved her too. 😌 She’ll go the extra mile to make sure your pup gets plenty of exercise and will send lots of pics. Will definitely book again!”

“I felt so safe and comfortable leaving my dog and cat with Anna! She sent me picture updates 2-3 times daily and made the pets feel loved. Not only that, she’s so kind and considerate and washed the sheets at the end of the stay!”

“Leslie has been a top-notch sitter for our three girls (one dog and two cats). When she came for her first visit, the first thing I noticed was her calm focus on each of them. She is clearly an animal person, and they can sense it too! She's a great communicator and kept us regularly informed of how everyone was doing. We came home to a spotless house and happy pets. Five stars without reservation!”

“My dog Maya can take a little bit to warm up to people. But Cassie had a calm and kind demeanor and Maya loved her when they first met. I never had to worry. Cassie is great at communicating and sending me updates. I already booked her for my next trip.”

“Lin did a great job taking care of our two dogs! They were happy, healthy and calm when we got home. She sent lots of cute photos and it was really easy to communicate with Lin! Thank you so much and we will book you again soon!”

“I am so grateful and fortunate to have found Michael to help me feel safe and secure knowing my little man is in the best hands! 5 stars are just not enough!!! Thank you again and I would recommend him for anyone who needs a reliable and respectful home sit for your fur babies.”

“Karina was great with my dog! Her communication was always quick and she was willing to cater to all my dogs needs over the weekend. Super professional and responsible! Highly recommend!”

“My dogs and cat loved him from the first meeting. I arrived home to find all my animals alive, healthy, & well fed. My house was also in excellent condition. This was my 1st experience using Rover and I am completely happy with David.”

“Sonja was fantastic! She really went above and beyond for us and we are truly appreciative. She was great at communicating and even sent us daily photos! We can’t wait to use her again!”

“Taryn was our first Rover sitter, and wow, were we impressed! She went above and beyond our expectations while caring for our two Bernese Mountain Dogs. The frequent photos of their happy faces made our time away thoroughly enjoyable and worry free. Taryn is responsible, a great listener and communicator, and genuinely loves animals. We look forward to having her care for our pups again.”
“Indy is indeed grounded, calm and kind. Upon meeting my still active 16 yo dog, she immediately focused on connecting with him one on one. He loved her peaceful nature, and I felt assured, leaving him in her capable hands for 2 days and overnight. Looking forward to future stays!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Bend
Avery was absolutely incredible, and we truly couldn’t recommend her more highly. We have anxious, reactive dogs, so finding someone we feel completely comfortable leaving them with is not always easy. From the beginning, Avery’s experience and training in dog behavior immediately put us at ease. She understood our dogs, respected their individual needs, and was such a calm, confident presence for them. Even when some unexpected things came up in Avery’s personal life during our trip, she still went above and beyond to make sure our dogs were cared for and that we felt reassured. Her communication was wonderful, and as admittedly anxious dog parents, it meant so much to know they were in such capable and caring hands. It’s very clear that Avery genuinely understands dogs, especially dogs who may need a little extra patience and support. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pups, and we would trust her with them again in a heartbeat. We feel incredibly lucky to have found her!

Allison was absolutely wonderful! My house was clean and tidy when I got home, and she was incredibly responsive throughout my entire trip. She consistently checked in with photos and updates, which I really appreciated and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. She went above and beyond with my animals — taking them on walks for many miles every day, giving them lots of love and attention, and making sure they were safe and happy. It was very clear from the photos that they absolutely loved her! I felt so comfortable on my trip knowing Allison was taking care of everything, and I never had a single worry about my animals. I would absolutely hire her again and again. She was fantastic!

Kelly is the best! I will definitely book Kelly again!

Madison stayed overnight and watched our dog Panda and cat Comet. She did a fabulous job! Great communicator and sent photos to let us know how things were going. Our pets were clearly well-loved and in good hands. I would definitely hire Madison again to take care of our fur-babies.

Liz is the BEST!!! She is truly the best person I can imagine leaving my dog with. Her communication is clear, frequent, and professional. She goes above and beyond when she cares for my pup. She even helped out when we had an unexpected family emergency. She also extended care for my boy when I ran into travel delays. I can relax when my dog is in her care, because I can see her passion and love for animals. Thank you, Liz! ❤️

Fleur was fantastic! She's a wonderful communicator who sent us plenty of photos and updates throughout our trip. We always knew our dogs were happy and in good hands. We came home to very happy doggies and a spotless house! You really couldn't tell anyone had stayed there. Beyond being reliable and organized, she's just a lovely person who clearly loves dogs. We'd book her again in a heartbeat and recommend her without hesitation!

Jessica kindly agreed to help us out on very short notice after our regular sitter had to cancel. She's an excellent communicator, and was very active with our Bo taking him on walks in our neighborhood and to local parks. We very much appreciate her stepping in to help us out.

Yonah was fantastic. We have a lot of animals to look after, and she did a great job taking care of everyone. They were all really well-cared for while we were gone. Yonah sent great daily photo updates. We even had a chicken get injured shortly before we left and she was wonderful at helping to care for our hurt hen. Highly recommended and we will definitely book again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bend walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bend maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bend choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
