“Sharan was wonderful! She gave us daily updates and pictures. She communicated any needs or concerns to us right away. She followed the instructions for feeding and medicine. She went on walks with Sadie daily. I'm sure Sadie will miss all the care and attention she got from Sharan. We will definitely use her for future pet/house sitting jobs. We would highly recommend her to anyone who might need her services in the future. Sincerely, Wendell and Carrie”

“Charles is amazing! My pup is initially very timid with new people, but he was so patient and gentle, he won her over quickly! He was a great communicator both before and during the stay, sending me picture updates and spending time with my girl. This was my first time using Rover and I was a little nervous but Charles was honestly fantastic1 I will absolutely be using him again in the future!”

About: I was a volunteer at the Oregon Humane Society (OHS) for six years, caring for dogs, cats, and small animals. I now work as an Animal Care Technician at an animal Shelter. My experience goes beyond feeding and walking animals—I’ve been trained in animal wellbeing, calm handling, basic behavioral training, basic grooming, introducing new dogs to other dogs, playgroups, pack walks, and leadership. I can also administer some medications if needed as well. At OHS, I served as a team lead, led tours, ran camps, trained new volunteers, and even taught a few classes. I hold a FearFree Animal Wellbeing Certification, a Breaking Up A Dog Fight Certification, and I have completed numerous training courses, and earned multiple certifications and achievements through OHS. I’m organized, dependable, and experienced, ensuring every pet in my care is safe, happy, and well-loved. Some fun animal facts about me: I’ve ridden a camel, petted a shark, and used to ride horses! Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and caring for them is my passion. I can’t wait to meet you and your pets, and I look forward to giving them the love, attention, and care they deserve! I live and work in Redmond, with a set schedule. I will always have time for animals! I am flexible with when I am available. I have dog sat, cat sat, small animal sat, and house sat in many different homes and environments. I am flexible and easy to work with. However you like things done, I will do my very best to follow and keep it the same. My main concern is your pet's well-being and happiness!
“Payten was amazing with my five month old kitten! I was nervous about leaving him for 8 days over the holiday but he seemed to do just fine from the messages and photos Payten sent me while she was house sitting. I will defiantly utilize her again if the opportunity comes up!”

“You can tell Josie is a true dog lover, and I felt like she treated my dog with as much care as she would treat her own dog. Our dog is nervous with new people but she was very patient him so he warmed up quickly. She spent a lot of time with him and we got lots of updates. Josie was respectful of our house and left everything in great shape. We would recommend Josie!”

“Colton was a great dog sitter! He was kind and responsible when it came to caring for our somewhat challenging dog. He left our house in great shape and kept us updated throughout his stay.”

“She sent multiple daily updates and pictures, the telling thing was she was able to get our shy kitty to not only come out from under the bed but downstairs and rub on her leg. Any cat people will understand how huge that is!!!❤️❤️?”

“First time using Rover and Mary was great! Updated us with photos, took great care of Josie, our home and our flowers! Took Josie on lots of happy walks. And, love that Mary is retired and could be here most of the time & overnight. Will definitely request Mary again when we need a sitter.😍”

“Dafne’s the very BEST! I will use her again because it’s like leaving my 90lb German Shepherd with a family member. She took her on outings, walks, and treated her like her own baby girl! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you so very much Dafne!!!”
About: Growing up on a farm had taught me to care for any age of dog, cat, chicken, goat, cow, sheep and more. Temperament is no different. Further, from a young age it was not uncommon for my chores to include feeding, bathing, exercising, cleaning up after, or simply taking care of the animals while family was away. Responsible fun, was my favorite of all. The image of a tired, happy farm dog is the experience I look to replicate for your dog. I currently work full time, Monday-Thursday until 4:30 pm. I take no issue and would prefer to spend my evenings with your dog. Friday-Sunday I have completely free. I have been raised to leave a place better than I found it. Anything disturbed by me or an animal will be cleaning up and left how it was before.

About: What sets me apart is the time and attention I can give each pet. I’m dependable, patient and comfortable following each pets individual routine. I can be flexible on schedule so your pet will get plenty of companionship, affection, and attentive care while you’re away. I do currently hold a full-time job and I’m just looking for weekend time that I can devote to giving your pet full attention, I am open to weekdays as well. Our pets are a member of the family and that is how I will treat them. I take this seriously and also take pride in seeing an animal excited to see me!
About: Love every kind of animal! You kind of have to when you are a personal CNA, being in people’s homes who require medical care I’ve seen all manners of pets and environments even exotic pets. That being said I love to give attention to animals and learn their personality’s, and am willing to go through the bumps and flats of taking care of animals! Working part time, always looking for more hours, my job is flexible and I can do weekdays and board weekends as needed. If it’s something specific it can always be worked out! I often would like to get to know the owners style of care, how they’d like me to care for there pets and also the environment they’d like me to create. Everyone has a different need than others! And every pet is different.
“This was Kate's first time watching Bodhi and minding our house and it all went very well. Kate handled all the dog care duties easily and on-time, and left our house cleaner than it started. Our dog, Bodhi, is an anxious guy and Kate seemed to have a calming, reassuring influence on him. Just to be clear: Kate stayed at our house overnight during this visit. Our dog needs an overnight human or he flips out.”

About: Hi there! I grew up with numerous kinds of dogs and cats. Currently, I have a dog named Maggie and she is 5 years old. She is a lab mix and she loves playing with other dogs. I’m a very responsible pet owner, and I love taking care of Maggie. My family and I have always enjoyed being around and owning animals and I am extremely comfortable with dogs, cats, and house-sitting. Over the years I have been a trusted house sitter with various dogs/cats and I will love your dog or cat like my own and take very good care of them. I will be more than happy to text you pictures and updates during their stay! I work full time, 8:00am-5:00pm. I am able to work a hybrid schedule and I can stay home different days throughout the week. I walk Maggie twice a day, so you can expect your dog to be walked as well while I have them! :) Though I live in an apartment, I live right next to Dry Canyon Trail. I take Maggie on a morning and evening walk, so you can expect your dog to get daily exercise. I also own a XL dog crate, so if you would prefer your dog to be crated during the day, I can use that and you won't have to bring one. My dog Maggie loves other dogs so your fur baby will have plenty of company while I take care of them. I am also happy to house sit for you if you are comfortable with me bringing Maggie with me!
“So glad we found Kaili. We have a very nervous/anxious pup who takes a long time to warm up to a new person. Kaili was very patient with him and gave us honest updates. She went above and beyond with doing cleaning and laundry. Felt very safe trusting her with both our house and our fur baby!”

“Sunny came over for a meet & greet before the stay to make sure she understood everything we needed. She stayed with my senior dude while I was at work and took great care of him. She was also clean and respectful of my home. I will definitely hire her again.”

Once again, Bonnie went above and beyond for us! ❤️ There was an unexpected intersection closure that meant a long and difficult detour just to get to our house, but she still made the extra effort to be there for our dogs. She is always so reliable, caring, and wonderful with them, and we have complete peace of mind knowing they’re in her care. We feel incredibly lucky to have found her and appreciate her more than she knows!

Sharan was wonderful! Shay did amazing watching our two dogs at my place. He responded right away, and was willing to take the dogs on an unusual last minute request for us. He played with dogs so attentively and took them for a walk to the park. He even watered some plants for us while we were gone. We have never had such a good rover experience as when Shay watched our dogs. He sent lots of pics throughout the day. All directions were followed perfectly. He had a lot of directions to follow lol. He was very honest, took well care of the house and left everything perfectly clean when we got back. We would trust him completely and we definitely recommend him and would have him watch our sweet pups again.

I was anxious about leaving my dogs at home and having a stranger dog sit. Our Misha is Leary and not friendly with people she doesn’t know. Sarah won her over quickly and put my mind at ease. She sent lots of pictures and that helped me tremendously. Sarah and Elizabeth are the best. I highly recommend them and will definitely hire them again. Thanks so much girls. 💞
Yetzani was wonderful!!! She was on time, extremely conscientious, great with the two large dogs and taking care of the house. She took pictures and stayed in touch. Best of all the dogs loved her. She’s a very nice young lady who I trusted fully. Just an overall excellent experience.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Redmond walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Redmond maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Redmond choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
