“Jordana was absolutely amazing with my injured 12 year old dog! My pup's nerve injury definitely makes it complicated to find a trustworthy pet sitter, so I was thrilled to find someone as calm, qualified, and communicative as Jordana. She updated me throughout the weekend, which definitely helped MY anxiety!! I'll definitely be booking her again, 10/10 recommend!!”
About: I’ve cared for animals my entire life, from my own pets to helping neighbors with theirs. Every pet is treated like family, and their safety, happiness, and comfort are always my top priorities. I’ve recently discovered a passion for dog grooming and am happy to offer basic grooming services, including bathing, brushing, ear cleaning, deshedding, and nail trims for dogs that are comfortable with them. My goal is to help your pet look and feel their best while making grooming a calm and positive experience. I’m also working with an experienced dog trainer to continue expanding my knowledge of canine behavior, handling, and training techniques. In addition, I’m currently pursuing certifications in pet first aid, CPR, and professional pet care so I can provide the highest level of care and peace of mind for every family I serve. Dog Walking: My dog-walking service is a special opportunity for my 16-year-old son, who is recovering from a traumatic brain injury and working hard to earn his own spending money. He has grown up around animals and genuinely loves spending time with dogs. All walks are supervised and coordinated through me, and if you prefer that I personally handle every walk, I’m always happy to do so. Whether your pet needs exercise, companionship, grooming, or loving care while you’re away, they’ll be treated with the same kindness, patience, and attention I give my own pets. Pet care has become one of my greatest passions. My primary focus is now caring for my family, completing my dual bachelor’s degrees, and providing loving, dependable care for pets. My husband works from home, so one or both of us are almost always here to provide companionship and supervision. We also have two teenagers who absolutely adore animals and love giving our furry guests extra attention, playtime, and affection. Our home is filled with love, and we understand that every pet has their own personality and routine. Whether your pet enjoys adventure, cuddles, or simply relaxing in a quiet spot, we’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and right at home. Your dog’s comfort, safety, and happiness are my top priorities. We have a secure, fenced side yard with a doggy door, allowing dogs that are comfortable using it easy access for supervised potty breaks and outdoor time throughout the day. If your dog has a different routine, I’m happy to follow your preferences. Your pet will enjoy plenty of playtime with me, my family, and our friendly dogs (if appropriate). We also provide two enjoyable walks each day, along with lots of affection, enrichment, and attention. Of course, treats are always given according to your instructions, dietary preferences, and any allergies or restrictions. My goal is to make your pet feel safe, loved, and right at home while you’re away.
“Dafne was amazing with my 8 year old Great Dane! Mac can be timid and slow to warm up and her calm demeanor and patience had him warmed up in no time. They had a wonderful weekend together and I got so many picture updates. 🥰 I’d love to have Dafne stay with my guy again and would recommend her to anyone!”

“Amber, Savanah’s wife, was able to watch my 3 pups while I was out of town! I didn’t have to worry about them at all k owing they were being well cared for and given tons of hugs and snuggles! My babies will miss her! I would highly recommend!”
About: I have been around dogs of different temperaments and personalies my whole life and I'm the kind of person who stops to pet every dog I come across. When I spend time with my dogs I enjoy being outside and active, just as much as hanging out and giving pets. I've never met a dog I didn't get along with, and I promise they'll love hanging out with me (maybe too much). I like to either go for a walk, run, ski, or maybe even for an excursion into the mountains. It really depends on the dog though. If we need to keep it low-key then we'll just do a few laps in the neighborhood or even just hang out at home. Aside from getting the pup some exercise, I will often go spend time with friends or go run errands. In these cases I like to bring the dog with me as much as possible, but again, it depends on the dog. If you have a younger dog I can do some very basic training in obedience, commands and behavior. I work inconsistent hours and days. Outside of that I spend time outside or at the house cooking and hanging out with friends. Typically if I'm not working I will spend most of the day with the pet. When I do work, I can be gone 8 to 14 hours, so I like to get up super early to walk the dog, and take care of chores. This really depends on the pet. Some dogs like to flee if they get out, some like to stay around the people. Some dogs are friendly to other dogs, some are not. Some are all bark and no bite, some no bark and all bite. Learning how the dog does in different situations helps me figure out where I can take them, and how to take care of them and keep them safe. I think the big thing about house sitting is making sure they have everything they need before I leave them for an extended period of time: taking them out to poo, making sure they're fed, making sure there's no human food left out for them to snatch, etc.
“This was Kate's first time watching Bodhi and minding our house and it all went very well. Kate handled all the dog care duties easily and on-time, and left our house cleaner than it started. Our dog, Bodhi, is an anxious guy and Kate seemed to have a calming, reassuring influence on him. Just to be clear: Kate stayed at our house overnight during this visit. Our dog needs an overnight human or he flips out.”

“Sherry was a fantastic house and dog sitter. She communicated clearly and consistently throughout the stay, which gave us a lot of peace of mind while we were away. We especially appreciated the daily photo updates—seeing our dogs happy and relaxed made it much easier to be gone. Our home was well cared for, and the dogs were clearly comfortable and well looked after. We would absolutely recommend Sherry to others and would be happy to book with her again in the future.”

About: I’m a caring and reliable pet sitter with a genuine love for animals of all kinds and ages. As a licensed pharmacist, I have extensive experience safely administering medications — both to pets and humans — and I’m very comfortable following detailed care instructions to make sure your furry family members get exactly the care they need. I’ve had the joy of sharing my life with a wonderful German Shepherd and two rescue cats. I’m very active and love going on walks, runs, or trips to the park, so I’m a great match for energetic dogs. My availability is generally flexible, though it works best when you’re comfortable with my children (ages 9 and 11) joining me during visits that fall on my parenting time. I’ve been trusted by many clients — including friends and strangers alike — to care for their beloved pets and homes. I provide daily updates and photos throughout each booking so you can stay connected and feel completely at ease while you’re away.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Prineville
Mekia was kind, thoughtful and professional, she even arranged to come by 2x to familiarize herself with our home and dogs. She spent 6 overnights with our 3 golden retrievers which included care for the pets and a few house chores (vacuuming pet hair, mail pick-up, setting out garbage/recycling and watering plants). We recommend and will be using Mekia again! We love that she is local. ❤️🐾

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Prineville on Rover is $38.85 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Prineville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Prineville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Prineville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
