“Josie did a fine job staying at our home and looking after our 2 Scotty pups for 14 days. They loved her and she performed all our requests as to their feeding, playtime etc. perfectly. She showed herself to be trustworthy and attentive. We would have her back again without question.”

“Josie was fantastic! She made us feel very at ease with leaving our pup at home for quick overnight trip. She sent lots of updates and pictures throughout the day. I knew the whole time that Nala was her main focus and that she was very well cared for. I can’t recommend Josie enough and we will be re-booking with her in the near future!”

“Dafne’s the very BEST! I will use her again because it’s like leaving my 90lb German Shepherd with a family member. She took her on outings, walks, and treated her like her own baby girl! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you so very much Dafne!!!”
About: I have been around dogs of different temperaments and personalies my whole life and I'm the kind of person who stops to pet every dog I come across. When I spend time with my dogs I enjoy being outside and active, just as much as hanging out and giving pets. I've never met a dog I didn't get along with, and I promise they'll love hanging out with me (maybe too much). I like to either go for a walk, run, ski, or maybe even for an excursion into the mountains. It really depends on the dog though. If we need to keep it low-key then we'll just do a few laps in the neighborhood or even just hang out at home. Aside from getting the pup some exercise, I will often go spend time with friends or go run errands. In these cases I like to bring the dog with me as much as possible, but again, it depends on the dog. If you have a younger dog I can do some very basic training in obedience, commands and behavior. I work inconsistent hours and days. Outside of that I spend time outside or at the house cooking and hanging out with friends. Typically if I'm not working I will spend most of the day with the pet. When I do work, I can be gone 8 to 14 hours, so I like to get up super early to walk the dog, and take care of chores. This really depends on the pet. Some dogs like to flee if they get out, some like to stay around the people. Some dogs are friendly to other dogs, some are not. Some are all bark and no bite, some no bark and all bite. Learning how the dog does in different situations helps me figure out where I can take them, and how to take care of them and keep them safe. I think the big thing about house sitting is making sure they have everything they need before I leave them for an extended period of time: taking them out to poo, making sure they're fed, making sure there's no human food left out for them to snatch, etc.
“Payten was amazing with my five month old kitten! I was nervous about leaving him for 8 days over the holiday but he seemed to do just fine from the messages and photos Payten sent me while she was house sitting. I will defiantly utilize her again if the opportunity comes up!”

“Janis was a joy! Very punctual in arriving for the meet-n-greet and the day of the sitting. She showed great interest in both our pups and left us very assured they would be fine while we attended a wedding at a nearby ranch. We came back from the wedding to two happy and sound asleep dogs. Thank you Janis...........”

“Amber, Savanah’s wife, was able to watch my 3 pups while I was out of town! I didn’t have to worry about them at all k owing they were being well cared for and given tons of hugs and snuggles! My babies will miss her! I would highly recommend!”

“Selfishly hate to leave a good review in case Brian isn’t available for us next time, but he went above and beyond. Our pets were so well cared for, he sent updates and pictures of them out and about, and was proactive with issues that came up on our property. We’re grateful we found the perfect person”

“Sofia was wonderful with our animals. She is easy to communicate with. She watched our dog and cat while we were in Mexico for a week. We didn't have to worry while on vacation as she kept us up to date on how our animals were doing and sent us pictures. She spent a lot of time with them and this was a very good experience for us. We are so blessed to have found her and we will use her again.”

“This was Kate's first time watching Bodhi and minding our house and it all went very well. Kate handled all the dog care duties easily and on-time, and left our house cleaner than it started. Our dog, Bodhi, is an anxious guy and Kate seemed to have a calming, reassuring influence on him. Just to be clear: Kate stayed at our house overnight during this visit. Our dog needs an overnight human or he flips out.”

About: I have taken care of animals for my entire life. I had family dogs, cats, and lizards. Once I went to college, I watched dogs and cats when I was not in class. I volunteered at animals shelters and assisted in the clinic. I recently moved to Oregon and rescued two perfect fur babies of my own. There is no animal too big or small. I would love to spoil your fur babies and treat them like my own! I am working a full time job Monday-Friday 8-5. I am free to do drop in visits in the afternoon after work. I am available most weekends as well. I have two cats in my apartment. They are currently indoor only cats and will not be able to bring pets here unfortunately. I love to take dogs/cats on walks or play with them in the yard depending on your preference. I can do drop ins or home stays if needed! I will make sure all the fur babies are spoiled while in my care.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Terrebonne
Renee and Martin were amazing with Koda! From the moment we met, I could tell they genuinely cared about animals and wanted to make sure Koda and Jade felt safe and loved. They sent regular updates and photos, which helped me feel totally at ease while I was away camping. I came back to happy, calm, and clearly well taken care of pets. I would absolutely trust them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for kind, responsible sitters who treat your dog like family. Thank you both so much!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Terrebonne walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Terrebonne maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Terrebonne choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Terrebonne. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
