Bee was amazing with my guy! Super quick to respond and I got a bunch of cute photo updates while I was an away. Bee’s demeanor is incredibly warm and Mac warmed right up with her. I would definitely recommend and hope to use Bee again!

Janis stayed overnight at our home to take care of my senior pup and our shy bengal kitty, and we couldn't be more pleased with everything! Janis was incredibly kind and professional throughout the entire process. Not only did she take excellent care of our pets, but she also kept our home spotless. The communication was fantastic - We were updated with texts and photos, so we felt completely at ease to truly enjoy my birthday weekend trip. Our bengal kitty usually hides away from anyone new and can take awhile to adjust, but she actually warmed up to Janis super quickly! Janis really is the pup & kitty whisperer!! We highly recommend Janis to anyone in need of a reliable and caring sitter. We will definitely be using her services again in the future!

About: I have had pets in my entire life, they are my family. Some of those pets have had health issues that have required injections, IV fluids daily, helping them to stand up and walk. Some were fosters that I loved on until the right person came along to adopt them into their family. It doesn't matter the pet, they will be treated with the same care and compassion I give to my own. I currently work a full-time job, Monday through Friday. I will be available if you need someone to stop in super early in the morning and/or evening. For overnight stays, please note that I am not able to offer continuous care. Monday-Friday, I will be gone during the day hours for work. On the weekends, I can offer a midday drop-in for an additional fee. I will follow your guidelines when it comes to caring for your pet in your home and do my best to go above and beyond. I would ask for clear communication on your pet's likes, dislikes, and preferences. If you have special or specific instructions please communicate that also. It is a priority to me that your pet is comfortable and safe while you are away.

Jessica was an incredible pet and house sitter! She took such wonderful care of Shadow, and it was obvious that she was happy and well loved while we were away. Jessica kept us updated, gave us complete peace of mind, and left our home spotless. We are so grateful for the excellent care she provided and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring pet sitter. We would happily have Jessica watch Shadow again!

About: I have my own dog, got him at 12 weeks he is 7 now. I also grew up with dogs as a kid to adulthood. My dog has a lot of health problems so I know a bit when it comes to a sensitive dogs or ones that needs things done a certain way because of a condition. It really depends on the day, but mostly I could so daily or weekly. I’m dealing with some health stuff and my dog has too. So I’m currently working on those but have plenty of time most days to do something like this. I have a fenced in yard for my dog, when I was in college one house I did it so he was constantly on a leash outside, another house I was in had fences but had to patch them up and make sure he couldn’t get out. I also created my dog at night he loves his crate. During the day when he is alone he has most of the house free to roam, but I will put down potty pads just in case. If clients are okay with there dog out or crated I’m for both.

Jordana was absolutely amazing with my injured 12 year old dog! My pup's nerve injury definitely makes it complicated to find a trustworthy pet sitter, so I was thrilled to find someone as calm, qualified, and communicative as Jordana. She updated me throughout the weekend, which definitely helped MY anxiety!! I'll definitely be booking her again, 10/10 recommend!!

About: Hey, I'm Riley! I grew up in Bend, OR my whole life. I moved to Texas in 2019, and just moved back in the middle of 2025. I ran a dog sitting business in Texas and had the pleasure of watching over 200 dogs during my time there (in and outside of Rover). Watching dogs has brought so much joy into my life, and I’ve built strong relationships with both the pets and their owners - I've never had a single client with a bad experience. Aside from dog watching, I’m a local insurance agent with the flexibility of being able to work remote whenever I want to. If needed, I’ll never leave your pups alone unless it’s for a quick grocery run or needed errand. My guarantee: - I never board dogs from different owners at the same time. - While leashed, no dog will ever get away from me, no matter the size. I am bigger than 99% of people and will always remain in control. - Your dog will remember me if we meet again! I spend lots of time loving on these dogs😁 Looking forward to meeting you and your pup! I’m available on call 24/7! Since I’m not required to be in the office at all times, my schedule is super flexible with being able to do this. Depending on your dog’s needs, I will always give TONS of attention and affection! I give walks & potty breaks every 1-2 hours. Even more often for puppies.

About: I’m a caring and reliable pet sitter with a genuine love for animals of all kinds and ages. As a licensed pharmacist, I have extensive experience safely administering medications — both to pets and humans — and I’m very comfortable following detailed care instructions to make sure your furry family members get exactly the care they need. I’ve had the joy of sharing my life with a wonderful German Shepherd and two rescue cats. Though my current housing situation doesn’t allow me to have pets of my own right now, I still cherish every moment I get to spend with other people’s pets. I especially love active dogs — bonus points if yours is a frisbee enthusiast! You can trust that your pets will receive attentive, compassionate care in a calm and structured environment while you’re away. I work part-time remotely, which gives me the flexibility to provide lots of attentive, one-on-one time with your pets throughout the day. I’m very active and love going on walks, runs, or trips to the park, so I’m a great match for energetic dogs or playful cats. My availability is generally flexible, though it works best if you’re comfortable with my children (ages 9 and 11) joining me during visits if your booking falls on my parenting time (please ask if it’s an issue). I’ve been trusted by many clients — including friends and strangers alike — to care for their beloved pets and homes. I provide daily updates and photos throughout each booking so you can stay connected and feel completely at ease while you’re away.

Emily was the best sitter we could have asked for! She constantly took Otto to the park and for bike rides and her pups Eve and Luna became Otto’s best friends. We loved knowing Otto was in his own home on our trip. We could tell he was so happy when we came back, and she left our house in even better shape than when we left! Otto is already looking forward to her next stay.

About: Hi! We’re Drew and Torri, a work-from-home couple providing fully supervised, in-home dog care just south of Bend in the Three Rivers area (about 18 miles from downtown). Our care is best suited for dogs who do well in a real home environment and benefit from consistency, structure, and attentive supervision. We do not operate a kennel or high-volume setup, dogs stay indoors as part of our household and are cared for throughout the day/night. We share our home with our Labrador, Knox, who is friendly, well-socialized, and used to having visiting dogs around. Care Style & Sleeping Arrangements We focus on individualized care and maintaining each dog’s normal routine as closely as possible. Dogs may: Free-roam indoors Sleep in a private bedroom or wherever they sleep at home Use a crate if that’s their preference or requirement We do have crates available. Crates are used intentionally for puppies, dogs with destructive behaviors, or dogs who prefer or require a crate for rest. Owners should let us know their dog’s typical sleeping setup in advance. We share our home with our Labrador, Knox, who is friendly, well-socialized, and used to having visiting dogs around. Our home is open and comfortable, with plenty of space for dogs to relax, settle, and feel at ease. We’re a great match for dogs who: Thrive in a home environment Do best with attentive supervision Benefit from routine and consistency Are staying for short trips or extended travel For dogs who prefer minimal social interaction or do best without other visiting dogs, we may be able to offer solo or highly personalized care at an adjusted rate, depending on dates and needs. Meet & Greets For most new clients, we require a meet-and-greet prior to booking. This allows everyone, dogs and humans, to make sure it’s a comfortable fit and gives owners a chance to see where their dog will be staying. We’ve found this step is key to maintaining a calm, safe environment and ensuring successful stays. House Sitting & Multi-Pet Care In addition to in-home boarding, we also offer house sitting for dogs who are most comfortable staying in their own environment. We have experience caring for: Dogs and cats Chickens, ducks, and pigs Horses and other farm animals (basic daily care) House sitting is ideal for dogs who do not do well with other dogs or whose households include multiple species. Both of us work from home full-time, so dogs are rarely left alone beyond short errands or the occasional dinner out. Outdoor time is always supervised, and dogs are separated during feeding to ensure safety and comfort. We maintain a calm, predictable daily routine that helps dogs settle in quickly, especially during longer stays. We live on a 2.5-acre property with a designated, fully fenced area for dogs in our care. Our fencing is ranch-style with additional reinforcement, which works well for most dogs but may not be suitable for dogs who routinely escape fencing or jump barriers. Dogs in our care: Stay indoors in our home (no outdoor kennels) Are supervised while outside Are cared for in a low-stress, structured environment We are always happy to leash dogs for potty breaks if that’s what they’re accustomed to or need. Our home is open and comfortable, with plenty of space for dogs to relax, settle, and feel at ease. We’re intentional about the dogs we accept into our home so we can maintain supervision, follow routines accurately, and respond quickly if a dog needs attention. Our home is set up for indoor, home based care rather than kennel-style boarding, and we prioritize clear communication and consistency to ensure safe, successful stays.

FAQs for House Sitting - Geneva

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 628 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Geneva. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Geneva walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Geneva maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Geneva choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Geneva. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
