About: I have grown up with cats and dogs since I was 5. In my family’s household I have had experience with a German Shepherd, Black Lab mix, Whippet, and currently Boxer mix. I have also lived with friends and their various pets, which I have helped take care of as my own. I would be more than happy to help take care of yours as well! I am currently working part time so I have fairly open availability. I will do my best to work with your schedule and pet needs. I know that some pets require very specific instructions! I will pay close attention to what your pet needs to ensure the highest quality care.

“We had Rachel stay with our 3 dogs, 2 cats and outdoor wildlife for almost 3 weeks. I was a bit concerned since our “kids” have never been watched by anyone except family. Plus, since Covid, they have had the pleasure of having “Mom and Dad” home 24/7. When we got home, we were greeted with lots of barking and wagging tails. Everyone was so happy! Even the cats came out to greet us, which rarely happens after a trip. This tells me that everyone had a good time and was well cared for, with no trauma from our absence . The outdoor animals came to the yard at their usual feeding time and the bird feeders were filled. It was as if we had never left our home at all! Rachel clearly made everyone feel safe secure and comfortable. What a joy to see! Our house was clean and Rachel even changed the sheets since she knew that we would not arrive home until well past midnight and would want to roll right into bed. Everything was tidy and in its place. I am so happy with the care that was given to my home and our menagerie. I am very pleased with Rachel and am extremely happy that she will be sitting for us again in the near future. I could not have found a better house/pet sitter for my gang.”

About: I have had pets in my entire life, they are my family. Some of those pets have had health issues that have required injections, IV fluids daily, helping them to stand up and walk. Some were fosters that I loved on until the right person came along to adopt them into their family. It doesn't matter the pet, they will be treated with the same care and compassion I give to my own. I currently work a full-time job, Monday through Friday. I will be available if you need someone to stop in super early in the morning and/or evening. For overnight stays, please note that I am not able to offer continuous care. Monday-Friday, I will be gone during the day hours for work. On the weekends, I can offer a midday drop-in for an additional fee. I will follow your guidelines when it comes to caring for your pet in your home and do my best to go above and beyond. I would ask for clear communication on your pet's likes, dislikes, and preferences. If you have special or specific instructions please communicate that also. It is a priority to me that your pet is comfortable and safe while you are away.

“Janis was amazing with our cat Em. She had Em sitting on the sofa with her within minutes of arriving at our home....a true cat whisperer. It was also nice to receive photos of Em, while we were gone. When we returned home, the house was tidy and all linens washed, which was very thoughtful of Janis. We will definately use Janis for our catsitting needs in the future. Thank you Janis!”

“Annie was wonderful! She was very punctual and kept us updated about our fur babies. When we got home they were very relaxed and calm which tells us they were loved and cared for while we were away”

About: Animals are my preferred best friends. I grew up on a small farm and had animals everywhere! Newborn puppies to senior dogs were always in my life. My family raised Labrador's, horses, cows, pigs and chickens so I am not stranger to animal care. Currently my husband and I have a 9-year-old black Labrador named Charlie and he loves everyone and every pup. Most of days are spent at home so I can spend tons of time with your baby. If you need me to stay in your home, I am there for you and will love on your pets like they were my own. Maybe you just need a day care for your pup while you explore the area? We have a secure fenced yard and, in the summer, kiddie pools for your pooch to cool off. Your fur babies will be well taken care of, lots of love and belly rubs. We have access to miles of trails just across the street so if your pup needs more activity we can hike and have miles of fun. I can even assist in rides to and from the airport, ask me the details. Welcome! I work part time and can manage most dates to take care of your pup. My schedule stays up to date and will confirm any requests after you contact me. Your pup will be able to roam in our home and our fenced back yard. Our couch is their couch. They are allowed on the bed or if they prefer to sleep on a dog bed or maybe they are right at home in their crate. I live next to several open fields, parks and hiking trails to enjoy.
“Kaili was amazing! Super attentive, responsive, and punctual! She took great care of my dogs & kept me updated throughout my trip, which I really appreciated. She also took wonderful care of the house & I returned to clean sheets and bedding! Cannot recommend Kaili enough.”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats since I was a kid. As an adult I have house/dog/cat/child sat for many people. I’m known as “Auntie K” to my dog sitting families! I’ve administered medications to dogs & cats as well as specific diets and cared for multiple senior dogs and cats. Although I grew up surrounded by animals, I haven’t had my own dog since I was 19. Sadly, my crazy but lovable kitty passed a couple of years ago. As a result, I really enjoy taking care of other peoples pets until the time is right and I meet my own furry friend. I have plenty of time to hang with your pet(s). I am available weekdays, weeknights and weekends! I am generally available 4-6 hours for potty breaks if I am not off work at my other jobs. I am willing and able to follow all rules and requirements to care the very best for your fur baby(s). I prefer everything written down so I can make sure everything that is requested is done on time and the way you would like. I understand your pet(s) are like children and it’s important to care for them the way you would.

“Kasey was incredible with our pups, Eddie and Jennie, while we were gone for five days. We told her all their little quirks and favorite things, and she was so thoughtful and accommodating with everything. She took them on hikes every day, planned play dates, sent us tons of pictures, and made sure they got all the cuddles they could ever want. We ended up having travel delays, and Kasey didn’t hesitate for a second she happily kept them an extra night and made the whole situation so much less stressful for us. We’d recommend Kasey over and over again. We’ll definitely be booking with her in the future! Thanks for being great Kasey 🤗”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats since I was 10 years old, and animals have always been a huge part of my life. I have a dog of my own that I trained myself, and I’ve cared for pets of all ages, breeds, and personalities. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, or has special needs, I’m happy to tailor my care to what makes them feel most comfortable. If your dog enjoys having a playmate, mine would love to join them for walks or playtime (with your approval, of course!). I’m a flight attendant, so pet sitting is the perfect way for me to spend my time when I’m home. I’m typically home about half of each month, and during those days I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to give your pets plenty of attention and work around their normal routine. I have experience caring for pets both in my home and in their own, although I generally prefer caring for them in their familiar environment whenever possible. I can administer basic care, crate pets if needed, provide walks, playtime, enrichment, and even trips to the park if that’s something they enjoy. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away, so you can have peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. I am a flight attendant so this is a great job for when I am not flying which is normally about half the month. When I am home I have practically uninterrupted time so I can work around what kind of care you are needing. I am very familiar with watching dogs in their own home and my own but would prefer it be in their own home. I can crate them if needed, walk, play, and or take them to the park if they enjoy that.
“This was Kate's first time watching Bodhi and minding our house and it all went very well. Kate handled all the dog care duties easily and on-time, and left our house cleaner than it started. Our dog, Bodhi, is an anxious guy and Kate seemed to have a calming, reassuring influence on him. Just to be clear: Kate stayed at our house overnight during this visit. Our dog needs an overnight human or he flips out.”

“Our pup loved Sofia right away (a little unusual for him) which made us feel so comfortable leaving him with her. She took great care of him while we were away. We would definitely use her again. Thank you Sofia!”

“Kyle was very communicative throughout his time dog-sitting our pup. He took great care of her and gave her lots of exercise and attention. He genuinely seemed to enjoy being with her. Kyle also took great care of our home and was extremely considerate. We’d absolutely book with Kyle again.”

“Dafne’s the very BEST! I will use her again because it’s like leaving my 90lb German Shepherd with a family member. She took her on outings, walks, and treated her like her own baby girl! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you so very much Dafne!!!”
“Jessica was fantastic! Met us prior to their stay, asked excellent question, kept us updated when we checked in, and had no issues throughout their stay. Our dogs got along really well! Highly recommend Jessica if you ever need someone to take extra-good care of your fur babies!”

Kyle was great - easy to coordinate and communicate with, and took great care of my elderly cat (including giving her meds). She’s a bit particular in her older age but he clearly won her over and made her feel calm and safe. Left the house in great condition and sent pics and updates every day. Highly recommend and will book again for sure.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sisters walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sisters maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sisters choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sisters. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
