“Madison was absolutely fantastic! Our first experience with Rover.com and we will definitely use it again. Madison was punctual, fleixble, and great with our dogs. She made this Christmas trip the best ever! I would recommend her to anyone who wants the best care for their furry family members. Thanks Madison!”

“So glad we found Kaili. We have a very nervous/anxious pup who takes a long time to warm up to a new person. Kaili was very patient with him and gave us honest updates. She went above and beyond with doing cleaning and laundry. Felt very safe trusting her with both our house and our fur baby!”

“Would highly recommend Michael! His daily updates and pictures gave us peace of mind during our trip. He was patient with our rambunctious 7 month old boxer puppy and even got him crate trained for us! We will definitely use him again going forward.”

“This was my first time using Rover. Abbey was awesome with my little dog Max! I came home and he was healthy, happy & relaxed. She did a great job communicating with me during her stay & the house was clean when I came home. I will definitely use her again!”

At heart I am and artist and photographer. Two years ago, I adopted a Doberman pincher from our local shelter. It was the best decision in my life . Amber is the most loving female dog, friendly, happy, smart, playful and obedient. “This was our second time having Liz keep our very senior boy. We will definitely be having her sit at our home again. She is just the best. Think our dog likes her better than us these days.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats since I was 10 years old, and animals have always been a huge part of my life. I have a dog of my own that I trained myself, and I’ve cared for pets of all ages, breeds, and personalities. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, or has special needs, I’m happy to tailor my care to what makes them feel most comfortable. If your dog enjoys having a playmate, mine would love to join them for walks or playtime (with your approval, of course!). I’m a flight attendant, so pet sitting is the perfect way for me to spend my time when I’m home. I’m typically home about half of each month, and during those days I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to give your pets plenty of attention and work around their normal routine. I have experience caring for pets both in my home and in their own, although I generally prefer caring for them in their familiar environment whenever possible. I can administer basic care, crate pets if needed, provide walks, playtime, enrichment, and even trips to the park if that’s something they enjoy. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away, so you can have peace of mind knowing they’re in good hands. I am a flight attendant so this is a great job for when I am not flying which is normally about half the month. When I am home I have practically uninterrupted time so I can work around what kind of care you are needing. I am very familiar with watching dogs in their own home and my own but would prefer it be in their own home. I can crate them if needed, walk, play, and or take them to the park if they enjoy that.
“Leslie is a wonderful dog sitter! She took great care of our two Giant Breed dogs. I really appreciated how she kept us up to date with photos and notes. The dogs loved her and we look forward to having her sit again!”

“Really happy with my experience with Caroline. She was very professional, responsible and personable. During our meet/greet she asked good questions to make sure she accommodated Daisy's routine. Daisy is a dog who has higher energy levels and needs to be outside playing often and I think Caroline did a great job filling that need. She looked after Daisy during a heat wave which makes things more challenging but they had a great time at the lake or creek to stay cool. She regularly sent picture updates of Daisy which I really appreciate and left the house very clean. Would book again.”

“We couldn’t have asked for a more professional and kind person to take care of our sweet boy while we were gone for a couple days. She is the best communicator and so thorough with following through with our requests. If you want excellence please call Jessica.”

“Connie was wonderful! Not only did she take excellent care of my pups, she also left my home tidy and clean. Connie’s photo updates were greatly appreciated and I will definitely be booking again. Thanks so much, Connie! ~Bethany, Piper & Navy ??”

“Sherry was a fantastic house and dog sitter. She communicated clearly and consistently throughout the stay, which gave us a lot of peace of mind while we were away. We especially appreciated the daily photo updates—seeing our dogs happy and relaxed made it much easier to be gone. Our home was well cared for, and the dogs were clearly comfortable and well looked after. We would absolutely recommend Sherry to others and would be happy to book with her again in the future.”

“Lindsey did an excellent job watching our five year old Frenchie, Maisey. Our pup immediately took to her on our meet and greet and was super happy to see Lindsey when she came to watch her. We will definitely be using Lindsey again for future sitting needs.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Deschutes River Woods
Avery was absolutely incredible, and we truly couldn’t recommend her more highly. We have anxious, reactive dogs, so finding someone we feel completely comfortable leaving them with is not always easy. From the beginning, Avery’s experience and training in dog behavior immediately put us at ease. She understood our dogs, respected their individual needs, and was such a calm, confident presence for them. Even when some unexpected things came up in Avery’s personal life during our trip, she still went above and beyond to make sure our dogs were cared for and that we felt reassured. Her communication was wonderful, and as admittedly anxious dog parents, it meant so much to know they were in such capable and caring hands. It’s very clear that Avery genuinely understands dogs, especially dogs who may need a little extra patience and support. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pups, and we would trust her with them again in a heartbeat. We feel incredibly lucky to have found her!

Indy is indeed grounded, calm and kind. Upon meeting my still active 16 yo dog, she immediately focused on connecting with him one on one. He loved her peaceful nature, and I felt assured, leaving him in her capable hands for 2 days and overnight. Looking forward to future stays!

Jenny took wonderful care of our two Britneys! She needed endless patience with our 10 months old pup, he has a lot of energy! Thank you for taking such good care of both of our dogs and the house looked amazing when we walked through our door! I recommend Jenny and would use her again for pet/housesitting.

My pup is very attached so leaving him for a week was hard! He was so happy when we got home and seemed to have had a great time with Tammara. She sent us photos of their time together and let us know how he was doing regularly which eased my overprotective mind. I would highly recommend her to care for your pup too.

Libby was AMAZING! She was so caring and treated my pups so great as if they were her own. This was literally the first time ever leaving my dogs with a dog sitter and not being constantly worried about my babies. I was able to travel completely anxiety free and she had great communication and sent pics everyday!

Savannah is a good dog sitter. She got Sunny to the neighborhood park on a leash (he's not the easiest fellow to lead) and let him do his favorite thing: long distance fetching. She welcomed him onto her bed at night. She tolerated his eneergy level. She gave him medication as prescribed. And I came home to a happy dog!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Deschutes River Woods walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Deschutes River Woods maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Deschutes River Woods choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
