“We boarded at Kendra’s home which is clean and tidy. Kendra was communicative and clearly experienced with dogs, I would definitely book with her again.”

“She took good care of Hubble. Kept me in the loop. She’s very nice, easy fast drop off and pick up. It was nice not needing to haul his crate. Just brought his food and leash.”

“Ratih and her partner were so incredible with my dog. Super responsive, caring, accommodating, and nurturing. I felt so at ease leaving my boy with Ratih and would love to use her again in the future. Thank you, Ratih! ♥️”

“We were very impressed with Leslie. She is wonderful with animals of all kinds. My dogs came home healthy and happy. We will ask Leslie to care for our boys in the spring when we take our next trip.”

“Cade took great care of Sprocket. He kept us updated with photos throughout the stay and made us feel at ease, providing lots of walks, playtime, cuddles, and love. Sprocket came home happy and tired, and we would gladly use Cade's boarding services again.”

“My wife and I would highly recommend Kristyn as your dog sitter! Our golden retriever Mariner loved her time there with the hikes and runs and playing with her new doggie friends. Great responsiveness and we really appreciated the pictures and videos. We've already booked her again!”

“Daniel was perfect-- clearly loves animals, has a great space for caring for them in his home and fenced in yard, and was a great communicator, and seems to be a kind human being! I highly recommend him. Aniol, our lively 19 month pup had a blast, and we hope to have him return at some point!”

“Erin is incredible! Oliver always returns home so happy and exhausted. I love the cute video and photo updates she sends. She even takes the pups down to the dog beach and it’s so fun to see them run around.”

About: I've been an animal person my whole life; from originally wanting to be a vet (decided to pivot due to the sadness that probably comes from being a vet) to caring for pets of my own. I've always felt I've been able to understand animals better than most people. I think it stems from my ability to innately understand their non-verbal communication. Hence, the Dolittle reference. A typical day in my home is calm, comfortable, and centered around the pet’s normal routine. I make sure they’re fed on schedule, have fresh water, a clean space, plenty of attention, and time to play or relax depending on their personality. I’m happy to follow any specific routines you have at home so your pet feels as comfortable and familiar as possible. I care for pets by following their normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, fresh water, litter box or potty breaks, playtime, and any special instructions from their owner. I also pay close attention to their behavior and comfort level, giving them plenty of affection when they want it and space when they need it.
“I have to be honest, I was hesitant to leave my two best friends with a complete stranger. Addison didn’t feel like a stranger within 5 seconds of meeting him in person. Him and his family took such great care of my boys, and put my mind completely at ease while I was out of town for Christmas. Daily pictures and check-ins were sent to me unprompted, which I could not have been more appreciative of. Rover, I’m not sure if you read these reviews, but you have a gem in your hands with Addison. I will 100% be using Addison’s services in the future. Great guy, great family, and a great disposition around dogs.”

“Michela was great! She took care of Murphy as if he was her own. She sent me a photo or video each day and gave my updates. I would definitely us her again and recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy pet sitter.”

“Li was great at communicating with me and took my cats on short notice. She was flexible about an early drop off and late pickup the next day, as well as letting me pick them up early when my schedule changed. I appreciated her sending pictures and keeping me updated on how they were doing. I will definitely book Li again if needed in the area.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 8, and I’ve walked a lot of my neighbors dogs for money. I’ve taken care of dogs and cats overnight, and I’ve helped train my neighbors dogs. I work part time and have a workout schedule so I take them out early in the morning, late in the morning, afternoon, evening, and before bed. Longer walks are always in the morning and at night and shorter ones are more frequent during the day. I provide a safe and loving environment for every pet in my care. I have a friendly dog who enjoys meeting new friends, and pets are always supervised and treated like family. While I don’t have a yard, I make sure dogs get plenty of walks, exercise and attention. For house sitting and drop in visits, I follow your pet’s routine closely, including feeding, walks, medications, and lots of affection. I live with my grandma in a calm, pet friendly home and am committed to keeping your pets happy, comfortable, and safe while you’re away.
“Alex did a great job watching Georgie. She was very good with she, attentive, and reliable. Georgie was well cared for and everything went smoothly. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a good pet sitter.”

“Minerva was absolutely amazing with our dog, Pablo! From the moment we met her, it was clear how caring, kind, and compassionate she is. She treated Pablo like he was her own, making sure he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for while we were away. Knowing Pablo was in such loving and capable hands gave us complete peace of mind. Minerva went above and beyond, and we couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter. We are incredibly grateful for the care and attention she gave Pablo. Thank you so much, Minerva!”

“My little girl Clio loves her time with Lisa and her family. She has fun with her furry friends and I get the peace of mind knowing that she is in great hands. The updates that Lisa sends are wonderful and always make me smile.”

Alexis was amazing! My regular boarder wasn't available and Strider can be a bit anxious about new situations so I wasn't sure how things would go. I was so happy to see that he took to her right away! They sent videos and pictures and I could tell Strider was comfortable with them and all the other dogs. I highly recommend their doggy care/boarding!

Annie and her son were amazing! Accepted a very last minute boarding with my dog, Lucy. Annie babysat Lucy a few years ago and my experience was just as amazing. Very thankful and a total lifesaver on a last minute weekend get away. If I’m in the area again and need a sitter, I will definitely see if Annie is available. Thanks so much!

AJ is awesome. They're really good at communicating with both humans and dogs (a rare feat!) and clearly truly cares. I'm your typical anxious millennial dog mom (no kids, just my strange and sweet 8 yr old yam pudding [vizsla]) and I actually felt really comfortable leaving her, even though it was her first time staying with AJ. AJ wasn't deterred by my dog's quirks at all and really listened to my (probably extraneous) notes. 100/10 would recommend! (Except please don't take up all their time so I can book with them again 😅).

Trust Carol to do a great job handling dogs with special needs! Our dog has a very strict diet, and Carol was very on top of making sure she only ate her specified food in specified amounts, and didn’t get into any other food. This gave us great peace of mind on our trip!

Thank you for everything once again. Maggie comes home happy healthy and with a clean fluffy ball! That was adorable. Lenore is the absolute best. Her communication is fantastic. I always appreciate the pictures she sends and she will always be our first pick for Maggie Care.

Holly was amazing with our Dozer, a bernedoodle. We got many pictures while on our overnight trip. Dozer is a cuddler and she provided lots of cuddle time. I would highly recommend Holly. I especially appreciated her safely fenced back yard. Looking forward to Dozer spending time with Holly again.

Arilynn gave our dog Ollie an absolutely amazing week! Every day they were going on Ollie’s favorite adventures including swimming, hiking, and the dog park. Arilynn kept us well updated sending us adorable photos every day. Best Rover that we have had - we would love to use her again. Thank you!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
