About: Training my two aussie shepherd girls is a passion of mine, we herd sheep a couple times a week. I am proud to say I can keep up with them, although raising an aussie puppy is not for the faint of heart! They deserve adventures so I take them to new places with new smells and I would be happy to help your pup experience the world in a new way too! If you're not comfortable with that, they are safe in my home too 💚 Pet care is a full-time job and I treat it as such. Fur babies in my home get enrichment via toys, puzzles, treats and exercise- happy to train your doggo under 90lbs to use our treadmill! We go out to herd a few times a week and get outdoors every day, rain or shine :) My pets are my family. They deserve to be safe, healthy, and comfortable. I understand that it is a deep honor to afford them the freedom and attention they deserve and I dont take the responsibility lightly.

About: I grew up with dogs and cats, and have been a pet parent throughout adulthood. I have a deep love and affection for animals, and often look after the pets of family and friends as their trusted caretaker. I call myself a "whisperer" because I feel I've always known how to 'communicate' with domesticated animals and earn their trust. I'm an adjunct instructor at WWU with enough flexibility in my schedule to be available for pet care most of the time. As I considered alternative work for myself, I thought I should consider what I love to do, and pet sitting/dog walking feels like a great fit for me. I currently have a 2 year old female rescue dog who I'm 90% sure is a puggle, and 2 beautiful male cats. Traditionally I've owned boxers, but I love both big and small dogs of all kinds, puppies to seniors, as well as cats and most other pets (perhaps not insects...!). I'm reliable, friendly, patient, and love to walk, so frequent or long dog walks suit me fine. I have a flexible schedule and am available to look after your fur babies day and/or night, including day care, drop ins, boarding and house sitting. I have a pet-friendly home with a fenced yard in a safe neighborhood with parks and trails close by. I'm home much of the time so my pets get a lot of attention and care, are fed on schedule, and I'm up to date on all vaccinations. My home is clean, cozy and safe.
“Michelle has been an exceptional sitter for our standard poodle. He enjoys daily park visits, swimming and lots of cuddles. It’s definitely a treat when our baby gets to stay with Michelle. Michelle is the kindest caretaker we have come across. She sends many pictures and videos to assure you that your baby is happy. We are return clients and happy for her services. She is reliable and flexible when emergencies arise. Thank you Michelle, you’re the BEST!!!”

“Shannon was GREAT! She was kind, and great communication. Took great care of our dog. She sent so many pics and updates. You can tell she’s a huge dog lover, our dog was immediately attached to her. Will definitely ask her to watch our doggo again, thanks shannon 😀”

“I boarded my dog for a week and I felt that he was in good hands. I got daily updates, pictures, and cute videos; it was re-assuring. Communication was great and my dog’s home routine was followed while he was boarding. I’m grateful I found Lisa on Rover.”

“Kendra was so awesome! She was able to be flexible when I had a last minute change to my travel plans and took excellent care of my dog. He got to go to yoga and a hike around the bay! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for dog sitting.”

“Koda is notoriously anxious and has run away from 2 previous sitters, but not this time. Shari and Richard were just the right fit for Koda, he was quite happy with them, which made for a relaxing vacation for us too! We're so grateful and will definitely hire Shari & Richard again next time!”

About: I've had multiple dogs throughout my life and genuinely love spending time with them. These days, I have a dog of my own plus my partner's two dogs, (we all live here) so our house is always full of happy pups! My experience includes: • Experienced Rover doggy daycare provider • Experienced dog sitter outside of Rover • Raised in a hobby farm in WI • Caring for diabetic dogs that require strict feeding schedules and medication administration • Following detailed care instructions, dietary restrictions, and medication routines with great attention to detail My own dog has taught me a lot about allergies, sensitivities, and special care needs, so I understand how important it is to trust someone who will take your pet's unique requirements seriously. Whether your dog is energetic, shy, senior, or has special needs, I'll make sure they receive attentive, loving care and are treated like part of the family. I work from home and have a large, fully fenced backyard with a high fence for added security. I also have a screened/mosquito-net door that allows me to keep the door open during the day while I work, giving the dogs easy access to fresh air and the yard while remaining safely enclosed. My desk has a full view of the backyard, so I can keep a close eye on everyone throughout the day. Of course, if you prefer that your dog not have access through the open screened door, I'm happy to keep the main door closed and follow whatever routine makes you most comfortable. I know how important peace of mind is when leaving your pet with someone else, and I'll treat your dog with the same care, attention, and affection that I give my own. -I work remotely Monday-Friday from 7-3:30 -I do tend to stay busy out of the house after 5pm for errands or a gym class a few times a week but no day is the same -Typically in the mountains one day out of the weekend I can be decently flexible during the week but I might NOT be the best fit if: -I can’t leave your dog at my house for 1.5 hours after work if I go to the gym or run an errand -If you need care past 8:00pm because that’s typically my bedtime… but I can be flexible. -Your dog doesn’t get along well with others …Otherwise, let’s do this! Other: -I live in the Roosevelt neighborhood in Bellingham -I will definitely send frequent updates and fun photos of your pet child while on pet duty -I am flexible so most things aren't a no but please reach out with questions about availability and I always do my best to respond ASAP House Fully fenced yard front and back 3 dogs live here My partner lives here too and we both are beyond careful with the dogs’ safety. We will love your dog like we love our 3 and yes, the gate is always secured :)
“Tony and Jielei have a great space for dogs in their home and especially their big back yard, and they had a real focus on making sure my dog felt at home and was fitting in well. A key point, Tony and Jielei spent time first figuring out my dog’s temperament, and then adjusted their care to what they had learned about my dog’s personality. Their communication is excellent - an abundance of photos, videos, and messages throughout her stay. Highly recommended.”

About: I have had my own dogs for 10 years. In that time I have fostered around a dozen other dogs and successfully rehomed most of them (had one "foster fail" lol). I spend a lot of time at the dog park and am known by all my friends to stop and pet any dog I see in public and will go out of my way to do so :) I also am a member of a group that helps transport foster doggos to their new furrever homes. I have also helped raise 3 females for a corgi breeder I am friends with. I have had kitties my entire life. The two I have now are super sweet but I think additional cats in the house would be hard for them :( I am currently working all kinds of odd jobs so I have time to dedicate to whatever needs a dog family may have. I am happy to schedule other work around pet needs. When dogs are in my home I would make sure they could be outside or inside, as they wished. We often leave our back door open on nice days so the pups can go in and out. We also take frequent walks around town. If i was house sitting I would make sure to be with the dogs as often as they are used to from their owners. In either scenario pups would receive their regular walks and would be loved and doted on. I am happy to arrange video chats with owners so they can check in on their pup while they are away.
“Virginia was amazing! She was available last minute to take care of our dog. She sent updates and pictures and Blue - our dog got extra attention from her kids. I will definitely be bringing Blue back to her house for more dog sitting.”

“Kristyn did a wonderful job at watching our puppy! She was very responsive and accommodating to our dogs needs. Communicated very well throughout the whole stay.”

“I’m so happy to have found Kelsey. It was my first time boarding Momo so I was a little anxious. I knew she’d be in home hands once I dropped her off. Kelsey was calm, attentive and knowledgeable. He responded quickly and sent a lot of pictures throughout the day. We highly recommend Kelsey and would love to come back.”

“Thanks to Ari I was able to enjoy and focus on my golf tournament. I am from Montana where finding a dog sitter is just asking a neighbor for a recommendation. I was nervous about using Rover for the first time. I reviewed the pet owner comments and choose Ari for her great reviews. She did a fantastic job taking care of my dogs. They were happy and well cared for. I will use Ari again if I am in town. Thank you Ari!”

“Jan is a very reliable person. She looked after my dog for three weeks when I traveled out of Canada. My dog has Addison disease therefore had to have medication everyday. She also had to have an injection on a certain day. Jan took care of everything while my dog was with her. She is kind and very trustworthy. My dog was happy and healthy when came back home. Thank you Jan for taking care of Lucy.”

“Here’s the translation: It was Chai’s first time staying away from home, and we treated it as a trial run for a longer stay. Minerva was very open and kind about all our worries and questions, and she made sure to take care of Chai in every detail, always sending us updates and little news. Now Chai will be staying with her for 15 days, and we’re certain she’ll be extremely well cared for, with lots of love and attention.”

“Randona was absolutely amazing with Biggie! She took such great care of him and even handled his medication perfectly. Biggie adored her, he was so comfortable in her home, loved spending time with her cats, and I could tell he felt completely at ease. She sent lots of photos and videos, which made me feel so reassured while I was away. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Highly recommend her!”

“Laura was communicative and reliable in preparation and during our pup’s care. Felt she went above and beyond to ensure our dog was happy and well cared for, from pickup/drop off offerings to navigating our holiday travel/availability. Would recommend her!”

“Sheila is fantastic. Ruby, a full of energy slightly anxious three year old Shih Tzu, was so completely contented when I picked her up after a full week with Sheila. She understands and “knows” dogs. I highly recommend Sheila and expect to ask her to care for Ruby again.”

Ferndale pet parents share their Rover experiences
Jennifer is my only go-to for my little guy. He has pretty severe separation anxiety, and over the past year, Jennifer has been amazing with continually working with him to make sure he has a safe place to stay when I need to go out of town. So incredibly grateful to have found her!!!
