“Chandra provided excellent care for our cat while we were on a recent trip. She went above and beyond what we asked, and made sure that Goose got lots of love and pets each day. Thank you Chandra!”

About: I've had dogs in my family since I was a baby; I grew up around them and my love for them grew. I care deeply for my own dogs, and I'm always excited to meet a new four legged friend. I regularly petsit for my family, a multitude of dogs, cats, and aquatic creatures. My schedule is currently very flexible; I make time for a walk and training my own dog every day and I sometimes bring him with me when running errands. I love snuggling and hanging out with all kinds of pets, letting them get comfortable with me in their space and touching them at their own pace.
“Lizz is amazing; she took this booking last minute and had plenty of time to meet Kade twice before the booking to make sure he warmed up to her. She was so nice and patient with Kade and it looks like they had a great time! Thank you!!”

“Our small dog can be skittish around strangers, but Emily made her feel comfortable while we were away. We will definitely reach out to Emily again in the future!”

About: Hello! As a lifelong cat owner and recent but enthusiastic dog sitter/walker, I'm prepared to give your pets the dedicated, stress-free care they deserve right in the comfort of their own home. Over the past year, my professional experience has focused heavily on high-quality drop-in visits for my dedicated clients. To round out my professional experience, I spent last summer walking my sister's dog, which gave me great real-world experience managing a pup out on a leash. Safe, Attentive Drop-Ins & Walks: Whether I am stopping by for a drop-in visit or taking your dog for a stroll, safety is my absolute highest priority. Before stepping out the front door, I perform a thorough security check on all harnesses, collars, and leashes to prevent any sudden escapes. I track our route closely and actively avoid chaotic environments or un-introduced dogs. Your pup will get a fantastic mix of mental stimulation, healthy exercise, and fresh air. 🗓️ Service Schedule & Weight Limits: Drop-Ins: Monday through Saturday — Up to 100 lbs. Dog Walking: Monday, Wednesday, Friday — Up to 60 lbs (must be well leash-trained). Core Visiting Hours: 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. (Please Note: I am unavailable for early morning visits before 10:00 AM or late-night visits after 8:00 PM). Core Walking Hours: 10:00 AM to Sunset/Dusk (Please Note: For pet safety and visibility, I do not schedule outdoor walks after daylight hours.) Booking Buffer: I require a minimum of 3 days' notice for all new clients so we can comfortably schedule a required Meet & Greet prior to booking. ● To maintain a safe and trustworthy environment, a brief, 15-minute Meet & Greet is mandatory for all first-time clients before a booking can be confirmed. ● I am highly proactive about pet wellness and am currently planning to expand my skill set with formal pet first aid training in the near future. ● Please note that clients must provide all necessary cleaning supplies for their pets' spaces.
“Sophia watched our dog porter while we were gone over the holidays. She checked in on him multiple times a day and left us feedback each time on how he was doing. We love hiring Sophia when we go out of town because we know he’ll be well taken care of.”

“Alena was so sweet with my pup Mochi! She gave her lots of love and attention, made sure she was well exercised, and even worked on the current commands we are teaching. Alena is punctual, safe, and communicative. She is the best dog walker and sitter around!”

“Madalyn was great with our cat while we were gone on a trip for two weeks, it seemed our cat really bonded with her and was well taken care of :) definitely recommend!!!”
“Azure was wonderful with our three cats! She was timely and excellent with communication. It was obvious that she was passionate about taking care of them. I highly recommend her and will definitely be using her again!”

“Judith is fantastic! She arrives at the time we agree to, she's wonderful with our dogs, she sends pictures and messages each day which I really appreciate. She's very dependable and really nice. I highly recommend her!”

“I am so thankful to have found Bodhi! Knowing my pets are well cared for made it so I could enjoy my trip without worrying about a thing. While away, my smoke detector low- battery sensor started to go off (it’s really loud and beeps every minute) Bodhi saved the day by replacing the batteries and resetting the detectors. Bodhi is incredible and gained my cats trust very quickly, AND went above and beyond making sure they are well taken care of and the house and their spaces are as well. Thank you so much, Bodhi!!”

“Morgan is always very communicative and really cares about Champ’s wellbeing! She already knows his mannerisms and can tell when he needs extra attention even after only seeing him a few times so far!”

“Skylar was great with our elderly cat Lucky! Lucky usually hides from anyone who isn’t family, but she let Skylar take her picture and even accepted Nulo Treat from her. Skylar was flexible as our schedule changed a little and even helped us navigate the Rover app. I highly recommend her.”

“Sophia was fantastic! One of my cats got so stressed missing us that he ended up having blood in his urine - she spotted it and communicated to me right away so we could get him to a vet and get meds. She was a great communicator and clearly very sweet and caring with my boys. I will definitely book her again! Thank you!”

“Jordyn was great with watching my cats! Very attentive, sent a lot of pictures, and made sure the house was clean and ready to go for our arrival. I would definitely book with her again. Thanks!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ferndale. On Rover:
- 97% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 91% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
