“Luanne was awesome!! She sent pictures and updates, and made our sweet Milo feel very comfortable and safe during his stay. I felt confident in my decision and was pleased that Milo was in such great hands. Thank you again for taking such great care of my little Milo, and I know he can’t wait to be back again:)”

“Connie was amazing this past week. Very attentive and descriptive with how our pets day went. Lots of affection and attention towards our little guy. Lots of updates daily with pictures of his walks and adventures and even provided some new experiences with other dogs! It was a wonderful experience as owners getting that piece of mind. Will definitely do it again. Thank you”

“Our dog Roxy had a wonderful stay with July and her family. They cared for her like she was part of their family. She got lots of attention, cuddles, and walks. They even gifted her some throwing balls that she loved during her stay. July was very good at communicating with us before and during our stay. She sent pictures multiple times a day and updated us on how Roxy was doing, I wouldn’t hesitate to have Roxy stay with her family again!”

“Walter and Angela were the perfect sitters for my dog Wanda. Before my vacation, I was so anxious because it was my first time leaving Wanda with someone new; however, as soon as I met them, I felt so much more at ease because of their warmth and great dog management skills. Wanda liked them right away too, which is not always the case for when she meets new people. Wanda was given lots of love and attention, long walks along the river by their home, and playtime, and when I came back 5 days later to pick her up, she was in no hurry to leave! Wanda was glued to Walter and gave him lots of kisses - he played ball and tug of war with her in the yard too. I also received lovely text messages and photos to let me know how she was doing. They also have a lovely home with a nice fenced in yard so its a perfect place for dogs. I'm so grateful that I met them and would like to use them again for future dog care services.”

“We left our dog Rocco with Denise and Paul for just over two weeks, and we couldn’t be happier with the care he received. From the very first day, they sent us daily photos and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear that Rocco loved their spacious outdoor area and enjoyed his daily walks. They even surprised him with a little toy, which was such a sweet touch! Most importantly, we could see how content and happy he was in their care. He was truly well loved, and we wouldn’t hesitate to leave him with them again. Highly recommend!”

“We had a very good experience with Christina, Super reliable, easy to communicate with, and clearly cared a lot about Baldomero.Would definitely trust them again—highly recommend!”

“Mandy and her family were amazing with our dog Perle! They really treated her like a member of the family. Mandy’s updates and photos kept me in the loop and made me feel at ease. It seems like Perle had a great time, and it makes me feel happy to have a dog sitter that we trust. We’ll definitely use her again in the future.”
“Our pup, Downey, feels so much at home with Mykyta and Michelle that we are not at all worried how he is doing. We get the regular updates, and the level of attention he gets is just amazing and very comforting. We keep coming back and he adjusts very well. Thanks again for taking care of Downey.”

“Sheila did such a great job watching my sweet puppy. She responded to my questions and requests in a timely manner and was so sweet and gentle with my dog. She also sent pictures and gave updates while I was gone. I will definitely call on Shiela again!”

“We had such a great experience leaving our dog with them in their home. She was clearly so comfortable and well loved, and we got updates that made us feel totally at ease while we were away. “Bailey had a great time with her new friends. She was kept active and comforted when she was fussy ( new place syndrome 😁) She has a new buddy in Ollie and I couldn't be happier for her care! We'll be back!”

“Sunny was wonderful in hosting Finn over 5 days. Due to recent injury, Finn required a little extra care that was very accommodated. We knew that for Finn’s stay that he was going to be treated well.”

“Lesley and her family was so good with Hobbs. She kept me updated on how my dog is doing every day. Hobbs definitely felt at home with them. They walked Hobbs everyday and Lesley's boys played with Hobbs every chance they get. Your dog will definitely feel at home here. I won't hesitate to use their services in the future. Thanks Lesley and family!”

“Sandra and her family are absolutely lovely! She gave my dog so much love and attention, was great at sending me photos and updates and super quick communication. Highly recommend!!”

“We had a great experience with Randona. She took care of Nala very well. She was very prompt in her response and shared regular updates with pictures and videos. She took Nala for long walks and has a very good dog park nearby, which is very helpful. We were initially anxious as Nala had never stayed with cats, but, she was perfectly fine :). Highly recommended !”

Li was great at communicating with me and took my cats on short notice. She was flexible about an early drop off and late pickup the next day, as well as letting me pick them up early when my schedule changed. I appreciated her sending pictures and keeping me updated on how they were doing. I will definitely book Li again if needed in the area.

Arya had a great time with Jaeda over the long weekend when we were out of town. Jaeda and her friend took Arya along with their lovely black lab, Boomer, to their trailer at Cultus Lake holiday park. She kept sending us regular updates about Arya and shared photos and videos of her and Boomer having fun in the park. Thanks for the love and care Jaeda! We won’t hesitate leaving Arya under your care again in the future.

I could tell the moment I met Rachel that she was the perfect fit for our dear dog. We haven't boarded before and, in past, just been lucky having friends care for our pets in past. Rachel was very reassuring. I loved the text messages she sent and we are already talking about booking for about 10 days in June once Rachel has an opportunity to sort out family commitments and family vacations. We really are grateful. (In terms of a tip, we took care of that the day we picked up our dog. No question, Rachel deserved it!)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
