Pet care experience

Doggies spoiled paradise

Growing up on a farm in the Pacific Northwest, my love for animals has always been a core part of who I am. As a child, I frequently rescued strays and opened my home to foster animals, adopted pets, and even offered a safe space for friends who needed a sitter. In my 20s, I ran an animal rescue focused on unwanted farm animals and dogs. By collaborating with local advocates and veterinary hospitals, we were able to rehome and save countless animals who might have otherwise been overlooked. Dogs, in particular, have always held a special place in my heart, and I truly believe they are an extension of our own hearts. I have experience with dogs of all ages and abilities, including special needs dogs, and I firmly believe they deserve the same love and care as humans.

I could tell the moment I met Rachel that she was the perfect fit for our dear dog. We haven't boarded before and, in past, just been lucky having friends care for our pets in past. Rachel was very reassuring. I loved the text messages she sent and we are already talking about booking for about 10 days in June once Rachel has an opportunity to sort out family commitments and family vacations. We really are grateful. (In terms of a tip, we took care of that the day we picked up our dog. No question, Rachel deserved it!)

My dog always has the best time at Rachel’s! She has a great setup that makes sure all the pups get low stress socialization, as well as long daily walks and tons of love! She also is an excellent communicator and I love receiving pictures of their adventures every day. I know our dog Milo is not only safe but well cared for every time. Thanks, Rachel!

What treat to have Rachel and Travis care for Bella while we were on vacation. So Bella was on vacation too. Lots of pictures and videos. They treated her like she was at home. We are so overjoyed that we have booked another holiday with them for the month of October we couldn’t be happier I would recommend Rachel to anyone looking for someone to care for there dog. Thank you both.

I can’t imagine leaving my dog with anyone else! They truly love my dog like their own and treat him as such, too!

Schedule

As a work-from-home professional, I’m able to offer full-day care and attention to the animals in my care. Providing potty breaks, plenty of love, and constant companionship brings me immense joy and fulfillment in what I do. All dogs in my care have access to a large fenced back yard, countless toys for stimulation, are welcome for cuddles on the couch and bed, if allowed by owners, and when the weather is nice, we head out on walks to get the energy out. If they would rather lay around all day and soak up the rays, that is ok too :)

Safety, trust & environment

I believe that dogs, much like children, require consistent attention and care. My home features a fully fenced backyard with an optional dog door for easy access, allowing dogs to enjoy outdoor time as they wish. I love taking walks and, when appropriate, I welcome furry companions to join. Additionally, I provide a variety of toys and chews (non-rawhide) to keep pets engaged and entertained. If permitted, I also enjoy making homemade treats for the dogs in my care using only the best animal safe human grade ingredients. For your piece of mind and an additional level of safety, all dogs are air-tagged for the duration of their stay.

Pets

A typical day

I love keeping pets active and engaged with a variety of fun activities. Depending on the pet's preferences, we enjoy daily walks, playtime in the backyard, and interactive games with toys and chews. For pets that enjoy extra enrichment, I offer puzzles and teach simple tricks. If allowed, I also love making homemade treats and creating fun, rewarding experiences that keep your pets happy and stimulated during their stay.

It’s important for me to know any specific needs, preferences, or routines your pet has before their stay. Understanding things like dietary restrictions, medical conditions, behavior quirks, and their exercise preferences ensures I can provide the best care possible. The more details you share, the better I can tailor my approach to make your pet feel comfortable and happy while in my care. 🐾 All Dogs Welcome – Just Be Honest! 🐾 I’m happy to work with dogs of all kinds — including pups who are still working through training, have anxiety, or need a little extra love. I don’t expect perfection — just honest communication from owners so I can provide the best possible care for your dog. ⛔️ Currently at this time I am unable to take high energy dogs due to my husbands recent surgeries. Thank you for your understanding. 🚨 Please note: A $25 cleaning fee will apply if your dog is not potty trained and has accidents indoors. This helps cover the time and supplies needed to keep my space clean and safe for everyone. last minute cancellations and changes to bookings may be subject to a fee. This is in part due to not being able to supply services to other pet families as I try to accommodate everyone’s needs. Thanks for being upfront and helping me create a cozy, stress-free environment for all my furry guests! 🐶💛
